I am not surprised if someone says Bitcoin is widely used by illegal activities on the telegram platform, because indeed the number of
victims who were deceived on telegram was very large. Usually scammers invite investments that promise double profit or scammers
use Ponzi schemes to deceive their victims, by promising great rewards. Many newbie are deceived by rewards to be good to be true,
maybe from the beginning many newbies misunderstood that Bitcoin could make money instantly. Why do scammers use telegram to
do illegal activities, because most of the crypto community and crypto projects use telegram for communication media.

The people specially the government thinks that illegal activities are always associated on using Bitcoin on which the fact that even before that Bitcoin is not yet existing, illegal activities are already there no matter what currency there is. The ones who must be blamed in here are the people for taking advantage of the Bitcoin's usage and make use of it on criminal and illegal activities. The ones who must be regulated and restricted are the people for doing related stuffs concerning illegal activities for they are the ones who are making  such illegal behaviors and Bitcoin have been the one being pointed out when at the first place it is just being used by those people out there for their own personal usage including illegal activities.

i think not only the govt but those noncrypto users who dont have the indepth knowledge about crypto esp those that are just watching the media. it is true that illegal activities were already rampant even before we learn the name of bitcoin. and right now, those criminals just got another one good avenue to play their game.
but if we compare it to the laundered fiat, crypto is not even close.
last month's article from asia times also pointed out that crypto involvement has just been exaggerated in money laundering activities and fiat still remains the biggest contributor in this activity

Pretty crazy thing that Telegram does not do anything about this prevalence in scam. If I were the owner of Telegram and all that is associated with my application is that it is a cesspool of scam, it would spur me into a campaign in preventing the proliferation of scams and eventually annihilation of this scams in my platform. I do not have that much legal knowledge but I think they can be prosecuted for being negligent when it comes to scams on the platform.

I am sure Telegram is neutral, but Telegram is not responsible for every user will do. But Telegram can ban that person if he abuses the rules. But I am sure that a person can find the other way to use Telegram and scam other people. It is not easy to manage the platform, which has a thousand people who use the apps. So we need to be careful with ourselves if we join groups in the Telegram, and always avoid talking or chatting with people we don't know.

But still, we see many case in Telegram that has been used for illegal activities, and perhaps, if we join in one or more groups, we will get interesting offers that allow us to make a big profit in a short time.

I have already posted about this. Decriminalization is the best way to move forward. But the governments don't want to do that, because it can have a negative impact on multiple sectors. For example, the private prison industry is very big in the United States. If the drug trade is  decriminalized, then the prisons would go bankrupt. Also, the pharma cartels make tens of billions of USD every year by selling synthetic opioids such as hydrocodone and oxymorphone. If the soft drugs are legalized, then they will also suffer huge losses.

I tend to agree, it quite full of scam and fraudulent out there.

IMO, I don't think the Government is doing the good steps against illegal activities by putting the blame on Bitcoin. I just find them too desperate and guilty for not being able to stop these illegal activities. If I were them, I would focus on the core of it because the reason why there are illegal activities are that there is a producer, pushers, runners, and admins and those are the things that has to be stopped. Unless they are also involved with it.
In our country, it has the same system. The government is the one that is running very scalable illegal businesses. I'm aware.

We can really do anything. Bitcoin is a means of exchange. It holds a value and its main feature is that it grants freedom to its users. We can't cut the whole tree because of a rotten fruit. We must treat the human behavior and not modify the technology.

Bitcoin cannot be banned in the whole world. I don't think that any big nation can cut its citizens the potential for massive appreciation in value that Bitcoin possesses. Even if there were a ban, Bitcoin will still be used underground.

This is not surprising news about criminal activities, hose criminal activities are already happening before bitcoin has created, they can make it happen through fiat currency but as of these days, cryptocurrency becomes so popular all over the world, they use it as their way of payment, that is also one of the reasons why many people think that cryptocurrency is a scam because of being related to such criminal activities. If bad reputations are still increasing due to these illegal activities in a social media platforms then probably those restrictions are not enough.

Maybe, we are lacking some features and it is really hard to control other people on using a certain platform the way they want.

A more specific regulations and prohibitions should be implemented so that authorities will not really affect the freedom of using cryptocurrency the way the users want. It is not that good if we keep on making illegal activities happen and operate in a certain platform. Also, transactions should undergo a lot of process for security and safety purposes within the platform.

One good action taken by Telegram is tagging the channel/user as scam if it has been proven.
Platforms as big as Telegram is hard to moderate specially if it has been infected buy such evil-doers scamming people for their personal gains.
One thing that everyone must do is to investigate first, do backround checkings, and look the real reputation of the investment.

Investors, specially for those who are newbie, should always be more careful on investing since they don't have enough knowledge into it.
Telegram-based crypto scams are hard to regulate since there are too much of them these days... So everyone must be careful.
