Comet Finance, Scam Alert. Beware of Projects Launced by David Godson

Comet Finance is a project that announced itself on 12 October 2020 and less than one week later, they severed any means of communication, their website is no longer accessible and their telegram channel is deleted, a clear indication to scam.

Right after Comet, the very same user launched another project named Thou Finance, with the same characteristics, which also evidenced by CaVO32 which led me to believe that it, alongside with any future project launched by this user, will face the same result.

It might be wise to also mention that this user was awaken from their 2 years long absence, possible lead to a bought or hacked account.

I'm removing Thou from this accusation in light of recent defense by one of its community manager, where cabalism13 stood and vouched for Thou, explaining that David Godson was hired as a thread manager by Thou and are not part of the team, thus his previous bad project with comet and suspicious activity should not be associated with Thou. | archive

Ive seen the comet finance launch yesterday and from what Ive seen it is kinda expected that they are gonna rug their token sale. I think too much rug has been seen lately and we cant seems to control these thugs. Problem is those guys that invest still risk their fund for possible easy multiplier. I did joined some of these shitcoin and as a high risk investment. This kind is not advisable since the profit is good only to early sellers. Uniswap deals are tend to be fast market approach and rugs are inevitable especially when the new project is only sprout few days.

I actually checked their previous posts and information in I found it very confusing that parts of their content were copied from sources like Harvard, etc. I was about to open a scam accusation against them but I only had like a relative small amount of evidence against them. Good job from spotting the similarities from Comet Finance's ANN. I also advise that if it is possible, create a flag in order to warn users about his peculiar behavior.

Good catch, just one suggestion : update the first post with the flag link for an easier access, that way more people will notice the flag and support it, as flag Type 1 needs support from at least one DT2 member to be active and visible to newbies and guests.

Flag supported, however there are some technical points that the one owning these projects might raise.

Maybe their intention is to run these scams and they will rationalize it by saying that they are rebranding one to another. In any case the flag should remain and they are not to be trusted.

I would love to be proven wrong, that Thou is factually a legit project. However, I would shy away from changing the subject of this thread until there is a solid proof supporting the claim.

If you don't mind explaining, how does both project unrelated, given both were published by the same user? A fake duplicate ANN doesn't seem to be the case here as my recent search tell me that those were the only Thou ANN ever published.


In other, perhaps related, case... Looking at your TG username stirred something in my memory. Back when Comet had their own tg channel, I read a heated debate between two users about a small typo in Comet ("yield" were written as "yeild"). Do I remember correctly that you're one of them? A "CutestBastard" and "Madruine" ringed a bell

I do have a slight idea who the scammer from Comet was, and from my hunch it was someone from the hired mods of THOU in their Discord group.
Besides, you can easily manipulate someone else' Whitepaper and copy their webpage and have Github host it for free.

Not one of them, I'm a hired Mod as well as I have been also scammed by them, didn't get my pay even though it was only a mere $50.

As the dev has given them the instructions to post here, for I have rejected them at first for I wasn't sure whether I have to do it because if I do that would also be supporting them.
