Coinmarketcap isn't safe for newbies who don't want to learn

That is why the rating is important to filter the bad results, not many investors are aware of scams nowadays. I personally use Coingecko which is easier to use and there is an alert function for favorite altcoins. Newbies shouldn't look for the newly listed altcoins, there are top altcoins which is safer to invest for inexperienced investors. The Binance team has announced they have bought the CMC a few weeks ago, hope this will change the working principles of CMC ASAP.

I once tried to find token / coin that I wanted on coinmarketcap, at first I was very happy it turned out to be a good price but after doing overall research on the market there was no buy order.  Lots of people don't pay attention to this, lots of people get stuck with prices but don't do much research.  Not only newbies but there are still many people who don't understand that prices can still be manipulated.

I believe newbies keep joining crypto space every day and I will like to share a warning about coinmarketcap and what most newbies are still doing wrong on this platform, if you visit https://coinmarketcap.com/new  you will get the list of new projects listed on coinmarketcap everyday, a newbie told me that he choose new projects through the link I provide up there, the truth is coinmarketcap don't care, they list many new projects without caring about if they are legit or fake, tons of useless tokens are getting listed on coinmarketcap and you need to stop this madness before it's too late, majority of these coins and tokens have no volumes, stop investing on these coins and tokens, it will only end up breaking you

Lol if someone is putting their money on something they know nothing about other than a list of new coins on cmc then they should lose their money.  Thats rediculous that that is even a strategy someone uses.

to be honest so far I have used both coingecko and coinmarketcap platforms to see information on a coin because when you can read and combine the two, I think your cryptocurrency knowledge will increase.

It is strange to hear that people will be investing in projects that are listed in CMC, how can anyone start investing blindly and expect them to make profit and this is the dumbest concept if anyone followed those, either way if new investors were foolish enough to follow that path then it is high time to think about those strategy as there are legit projects out there to invest that are proven.

It isn't about CMC not safe but everyone who is careless and doing lazy efforts should be very risky in the crypto business. I don't think it is only a warning for newbies but all people who are involved in crypto investment. Especially for those who are careless, unwilling to learn, and also only follow the hyp, will also be probably the victims of the projects shown on the menu. We exactly do not know whether new projects shown on CMC are legit or not, scam or not, therefore, it needs deep research of we are interested in that project. Actually, it is not only in CMC but also on other websites. But of course, CMC is the biggest platform among them, that is why many people may think that everything there is legit.

Coinmarketcap is just a tool to check the potential of one coin but not the kind of tool that you will rely your on judgement alone, there should a lot of tools to be used before you can come out with the decision but using Coinmarketcap only is a big no no and it will lead you astray, you will become a victim of pump and dump projects, because there are to many pump and dump coins on Coinmarketcap.

This is the reason why doing an extensive research is important and dont just rely on what you see in coinmarketcap. Not all coins listed there are a reliable investment and likely to give profit.

Newbies should be aware of this so they can avoid using cmc as their basis on what project is good to invest in. Prices can be manipulated thus help yourself to not end up in a project that is not worth for your time and effort.

It's interesting that they have no warning whatsoever.  Wish they had "Unverified Projects" close to the "New", plus *Use at your own risk* in red or something. Besides, it's better to have the unverified projects on separate page and the verified ones on main page. Thought that was part of the reason the platform was bought.. to sanitized it?

They only work for money nothing more, and they don't want to provide such services to the public as long as the project has the money to pay for the listing fee, they will list it and yes this is not a good idea to depend on coinmarketcap if you want to make any investment.

Sanitation is not enough for CMC, they need to restart the whole thing and start making good services to the public, there's a trust issue on CMC. Newbies should know how to spot the good investment and CMC won't help you on this one, this forum can be a good site for the newbies because most of the new projects are came here and most of them succeed so I find this forum as effective on introducing good projects.

That's why it is necessary to "do your own research" first before entering into a project. Although it is safe or not, we must still know what kind of project are we going to enter. Even if it is listed on coinmarketcap still it can be risky in a way that not all listed there are reliable for investment.

actually i never use that link and never knew about it. I use Coinmarketcap for price data and not as investment advice. Same should be done by newbies. Though it will be good it CMC puts a warning notice on the NEW token page.

I recommend for newbies if you want to hunt for new bounties and want to invest in new tokens, to look at the Telegram bounty detective group, or you can join Bubbalex. there often share ongoing bounties and new tokens that have been launched on the exchange market for investment. If in doubt about the list on CoinMarketCap, please try and have a look at Bounty Detective or Bubbalex.

You have to choose before working on any project because everything will be at risk coinmarketcap has many advantages in terms of currency selection not too reliable for investment not just for newcomers every trader has to analyze the markets well to see if they are reliable. I wish coinmarketcap can start using some filter panel to separate projects that aren't verified yet, mixing everything up just make things look like they don't care, since binance team acquired the platform I thought things will change better for coinmarketcap but nothing happened, it's been months now

Or if they have enough volume of trade and listed on exchangers they will add that token or coins. So many scam project listed on CMC. do you think beginners will also be stupid looking for original coins in CMC? of course there will be assets that will really attract someone new to crypto into the market to invest. they won't know how many coins are listed on the market. their initial knowledge is BTC, ETH, and some popular coins. I am sure of my thinking.

I don't blame coinmarketcap for this move, they are simply doing their job, this platform isn't for pointing investors to the right direction, it's for all crypto project data and any new project is free to get their coin or token listed on the platform, it's your duty is an investor to do research on any project before investing money.

Don't ever blame or rely on CoinMarketCap as an investment method because CoinMarketCap is only a platform that helps us find where coin is listed and I think the volume that CoinMarketcap provides is not entirely correct, to determine CoinMarketCap investment, choose the top 10

but sometimes CMC also helps every day trader. I am sure everyday trader will always use CMC to see how the progress of daily traded coins. but for a beginner, I think it's too risky.

Why do you think coingecko is responsible for any kind of price dump? Do you know that in order to get listed both on coingecko and coinmarketcap, you just need to fill a form with simply questions. Both platforms will do some research and make a listing. Both platforms dont really check ho fills these forms. I can easily fill the form and try to list Poolz (your signature), create token with same name and add it to uniswap. Both platforms use almost identical algorithms to check if something ne appears on exchanges. Same "You fomo" will appear on "Shitty farm" and coinmarketcap will announce that it is listed on exchange.

What advantages coinmarketcap has over coingecko? They show identical info. But for me personally, coingecko works a bit faster.
