Honestly there is really nothing that makes me stop because there is a Canadian one or anywhere else, it is literally nothing that is important where they are based from. It could be from anywhere in the world and if the project is good it is good and I would be willing to invest, if it is not good it is not good and I wouldn't put money in it because of that reason.
Mainly I look at the team and what they did before, if it is a team that never created a project before, I probably wouldn't invest. Now you may think why would anyone who already created a coin would created another one, but most of the time some team members of projects which wasn't the owner but just an employee helped create a new project usually ends up creating their own coins later on as well, those are generally the good ones.

In all honesty, I wouldn't invest in any of these two projects and I would advise against it. Both of them don't seem serious to me. That tells me my experience.

I would trust it if it's well decentralized, transparent, immutable, censorship resistant, permissionless/trustlessness, privacy-friendly/anonymity-friendly, secure, etc Full advice on what to look out for before trusting a crypto project: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5281774.msg55370333#msg55370333

I don't care so much about the nations. But if you are talking about a defi project that promises a decentralized platform, why would you mention that it is a canadian project?

How it can be about countries? Your logic is simply against the decentralized and borderless blockchain technology, this tech is here to make the world one community, with equal opportunities for everyone. So i will not judge any project based on the country of origin.

In my own opinion, i do not think it is about country or better still, I do not think the country a project is based on is a criteria for investing in or trusting that project. First thing that matters when trusting a project is the team, this is because everything and every decision falls on them, that then means that a team in any part of the world can build a project and scam people, at the same time a team from anywhere in the world can build a project and it will be outstanding, worthwhile and trusted. Another thing that matter is the idea the team is coming up with, how workable and how unique is it? You can also take their partnership into account. By looking at all these, you can easily understand that country is not even a yardstick to trusting a project. Therefore, as for me, if the project fits my curiosity I will trust it and invest, the percentage do not really matter I think.

And to add them to all, scams generally fake their address. They don't exists anywhere but on someone's computer. Many scams tries to fake their address as in UK, Europe or US and Cananda so they would be more believable than to put Nigeria, India or Russia. I don't mean to same all of them are fake. So, be sure, if you are from that country, it's better to visit them before trusting on them. And if you can visit and interact with them, it's better to invest in the defi that are in your countries than on any other country.
