Seriously people, don't you check the trust ratings of the person you doing business with? This is what @sandy-is-fine left on him, it cant be more self-explanatory than that. If you can't afford escrow, at least trade with reputable people only, otherwise you are basically asking to be scammed and it will happen sooner or later.
I am going to tag him too, but what you should do is raise Flag Type 2 against him (if you don't know how, ask). That one is a bit more visible than negative feedback and might save some newbie from making the same mistake like you two did.
