I was wondering what caused the jump especially with the wall of sell orders around $12,000 to prevent a but this news appeared to have punched right through that. Currently over 13K 
Anyway I am not a big fan of large jumps because the quicker the climb the quicker the fall in the past...slow and steady (upward) is my preference, but I don't count 

me too    , but I took the time to sell a few percent of my BTC, at least there will be a wave of prices going down and I'm ready to buyback
Short term trading can be considered a side job for long term investors. I hope there will be more adoption by the financial industry to strengthen the presence of Bitcoin in the public.

I had bad experiences with PayPal in the past, and I am not using their services for the past few years. But still I would say that this is a very encouraging piece of news. The active paypal users is around 346 million worldwide. A lot of these users may not be knowledgeable about Bitcoin or Cryptocurrency. Paypal will be a good advertising platform and surely many of their users will be curious and then invest afterwards.

Many people can't create personal bitcon wallets, because they can lose the seed, forget the password and lose their funds, so PayPal is very good for such cases!

I figure they will be evolving over 2021, as they broaden the geographical scope of application. Bitcoin purchases made there are custodial, with no chance as yet to move it off the platform on to one’s own wallet. That in itself is a big no for many here, but from a broader point of view, there is a very large part of the population that is incapable of being their own bank. This could turn Paypal into the largest custodial service around, so we better hope they’ve got their security crystal clear ...

Well talking about cryptocurrency going mainstream  if this isn't then i wonder what is, this is definitely a plus in the part of crypto, the adoption keep spreading and touching those places you would think it will never get attention,
i read about the news on cnbc today and i was actually pleased, according to the article, the PayPal crypto services will first launch in the united state, the U.S citizens will be the first to text and enjoy the service,

This is definitely a game changer, i guess this news is some how related to the sudden pump of btc touching $13k and back down, i know this will strengthen the trust on crypto and especially btc, imagine the number of new people who will be willing to come in because of PayPal involvement! the road to adoption is very clear now imo, smart move by PayPal for taking this bold step, lets see if other giant players in the economy will want to miss out , the game is on i can feel it.

We all were expecting this to happen anytime soon. Good news I would say. Will help spread more about bitcoin among those who use paypal. But I wouldn't use paypal for holding bitcoins. You highly likely won't be having access to your private keys, so remember, those are not your coins (even though they are!). And paypal has a history of freezing your accounts. I know they do it for security reasons, but I am guessing this is going to happen more frequently since cryptocurrencies are involved. And you will be able to make payments to other paypal merchants, this means, Paypal can reverse the transaction if they want (like leaving you with a negative balance, even if you withdraw the coins).

It certainly does make cryptocurrency accessible to more than 300 million people worldwide but the small negative part in it isn that the private keys will be held by PayPal and not by the owners of the assets.
Maybe they should have a choice that some people can have their keys if they like to.

Well Paypal is from US so what canw e expect from that?so basically it will be first launch for the US people and then sooner will be for everyone,Unless they will limit the usage.

Majority hadnt anticipated for this thing to happen and its good if we do sell out now for those who do trade earlier.This is the sweetest spot to make out some moves.

The thing is, PayPal must have been watching the crypto markets very vigorously and did not want to miss out on their share (which they already missed till date), but I can say that they chose the right time to chime in with their announcement while things were already looking good and the most important factor that I believe is the fact that BTC remained stable and even grew while 2 of the major exchanges got hacked, and probably that is why PayPal started believing in it from then (maybe!). All in all, let us be prepared for the cheap fees but an expensive BTC (as it's their choice to sell at their rates and it'll probably be a bit higher than market price).

This could be the massive news we are waiting for too long this 2020. Paypal as I can see is a big company that will push the value of cryptocurrency, especially bitcoin. I am not saying that we are achieving a bull run phase because of this, there's already some big news from companies putting their reserve funds to bitcoin, and this Paypal news will be the assurance that it will be a great years for bitcoin in the coming years.

It’s four cryptocurrencies that they announced, and it’s going to be the top cryptocurrencies that’s been around for long which is Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin and Bitcoin Cash. Before now there has been rumour that PayPal will be rolling out a feature like that but when the media approached them to know whether the news was true they replied that they don’t give answers to rumours, and now they have come open about it.

This is the step one! With time cryptocurrency will be everywhere. I wouldn’t be surprised if Amazon is the next that will start accepting cryptocurrency, although that wouldn’t be necessary now since PayPal is accepting it, anyone using PayPal and has cryptocurrency on it will still be able to buy from Amazon.
