Very good news, but after creating any paypal account you will need to link your paypal account to a bank account and this will be some kind of doing kyc. By accepting crypto on paypal and letting any user to deposit and withdraw crypto directly to paypal account the most important issue will the the indirect kyc because paypal is full centralized payment system and and surly you will need to report the details of transactions for the government and related organization.

Good news for the crypto world. I assume that in the next year there will be a tremendous increase because of this news and indirectly it will trigger the Bank to grow (accept Cryptocurrency purchases or withdrawals)

Already an user of our forum has made the purchase of bitcoin with PayPal. From the article it is scheduled to come for usage by 2021. Maybe what we see is just the testing phase with the most reputed users. Buying bitcoin from PayPal for the first time by forum member.

This is just the spike that we badly needed for the last 3 years. Paypal allowing its users to purchase and store Bitcoin in its platform is huge. PayPal is one of the largest payment processors right now and their acceptance means a lot for Bitcoin. I would rather say that this is the biggest trigger received so far in the adoption of Bitcoin, ever since the first coins were mined in 2009.

You're right. Never before in the history of bitcoin have we had a unique opportunity to (a) completely forget all the benefits of open, borderless, censorship-resistant, permissionless currency, which is, in fact, a breakthrough in distributed decentralized monetary systems, and to (b) return back to obsolete payment platforms such as PayPal, which don't allow you to (1) control your own money, (2) transact with those who excluded from the financial system due to the "wrong" place of birth, (3) defend your right to privacy, (4) avoid surveillance of your transactions, habits, political views, etc. What a great day for the adoption!

Six years ago, there was a time when I desperately hoped that I would be able to purchase BTC with PayPal. Being a resident of India, it was extremely difficult to purchase Bitcoin at that time. Exchanges such as Mt Gox and BTC-e had no fiat deposit option that I could use. Finally I was able to make the purchase through peer-to-peer platforms, but I had to go through a lot of frustration and despair. I understand that a majority of the users have reacted negatively to this news. But for me, it is more positive than negative.

Well it is not exactly what is happening now, doubters are not the Paypal but their users in which the one who needs to use bitcoin and some crypto for this to
be successful .so basically we have to wait for at least few times before finally believe that this is a good work and will help us all crypto users in their progress.

This is really good news.  If PayPal had made such a decision, I would say it was a landmark decision.  However, it has a negative side. If you buy and sell cryptocurrency through PayPal, then the third party will control it.  This means that if you buy Bitcoin through PayPal, then Paper Bank will be able to know your complete information.  Which is in complete conflict with the principles of bitcoin discovery.

Why would you bother with the scammers payment service - PayPal, when you can use Bitcoin?

It opens the door for non-bitcoiners to enter the world of cryptocurrencies.

We need to bridge the gap between banks that hold our money and can say no, we won't process your transaction because it's from or to a bitcoin exchange and we do not support cryptocurrencies.

The more companies offer these people who are now stuck with stubborn and nosy bankers a way out, the better.

not enough technical chops to be able to really secure their wallet safely. its a fairly steep incline for the uninitiated.seeds, firmware updates, dangers sweeping wallets improperly etc.

paypal? just click. and hope your account doesnt get frozen or hacked. not fond of paypal in general but ive had no issues for over a decade with them.

yes its a risk and not "real" bitcoin as it cant leave the platform. but it will introduce huge amounts of people to it.

After new confirmed, BTC is pumping so hard. Now, BTC is almost 12800$/BTC. How do you think about this price increase? Is it uptrend?
why not, i am thinking about 2017 when crypto survive like crazy. and now we seen that lots of good news like DEFE or NFT trend. paypal accepet crypto for buy/sell that is another big news for crypto. thats why btc pumping.

I don't know if the things you are pertaining about are new alts or another defi but I think such news only gave minimal influence on the current price uptrend happening (no offense meant). Because the main factor we can consider here is Paypal's step of letting crypto enter their business.
paypal accepet crypto for buy/sell that is another big news for crypto. thats why btc pumping.
Yeah! What a great day for us. But take note, btc is not the only coin surge because Litecoin did as well. It actually outperforms btc so if you are holding one then congrats Smiley.

I have never thought that Bitcoin and other altcoins could move to the next level like this. It's good news and I'm sure that those who are doubting it will now change their mind about the real function of cryptocurrency. There will surely be more platforms that would accept cryptocurrency when this works well. It's also an advantage because more people would get more interested in cryptocurrency and it will affect the market positively.

I myself hate PayPal and don't have an account with them now. That doesn't mean that PayPal's acceptance of Bitcoin is a bad thing, and we should petition them to revoke it. No one is forcing you to use PayPal. We have far better options available and people like me haven't used PayPal for many years now. But there exists a large group of people, for whom purchasing and storing Bitcoins is easier if it is done through the PayPal platform. Obviously if you opt for them, then you need to compromise with privacy and other aspects. But then once again, no one is forcing you. If you want to use PayPal, then you can.

Paypal is doing what? Literally they are trying to make possesion of decentralized cryptos into their wallet.

This news has short term positive in the crypto market but in long term surely it is going to affect the core decentralization of crypto currencies so community don't let the ignorant people slip into their hands.

agree that any recognition from a highly respected and recognized institution so far will at least have a good impact on the development of crypto. but is it useful and can make it easier it can't be said because for those who already have paypal, of course it doesn't matter how those who don't have it because we know whether it will make it easier? maybe not.

The good news is that paypal is entering the crypto market customers will be able to buy and sell bitcoin and other virtual currencies using paypal accounts this will double the demand for crypto and have a positive impact on the market. Paypal is super convenient and the speed of its transactions will be faster by depositing through a bank account paypal will benefit from the development of crypto as a deposit method the value of crypto as a decentralization system will increase.

paypal isnt convenient but its a little but hassel because they request kyc and they request authentication if ever they locked your account for less known reasons . by using paypal we dont help decentralization grow but this help the centralization rather because paypal is not decentralize .

and how can we sure its a goodnews when paypal users chose paypal at the first place because they dont like crypto  . this update will have no impact to those users but they will just ignore it
