Hi all,

During long days at home because of covid, I played lot of poker, and I have been able to see the multiple problems for lot of players from regulated markets.

My idea is very simple:

Create a new poker room based on blockchain without rake and annonymous.

I developed lot of parts of the software:

- blockchain.
- gui wallet.
- poker interface.
- random number generator.

The idea is to create a collaborative rng, and every user contributing will be rewarded with some coins (depending of his contribution obviously). This will be the base of the room. The only accepted coin on the room will be our coin, that may be exchanged when listed.

If I see the people is interested, I will form a team (by the moment we are 4 people working on it) and we will start with the test on december 2020.

The concept is good and all but the problem that I see is you will be creating your own coin that can't be used outside your site. You do know that there are a lot of these coins that do not have ouside value had scammed people.

Is this "our coin" another cryptocurrency that will be traded in the open market or just for internal use? I think you should just focus on building the platform and have this coin just like "chips" in real casinos. There are plenty of crypto that are already available and you don't want the stress of having speculators complain about the price of your coin.

The coin can be used outside the poker room. Of course. Can be sent to other addresses, to an exchange, etc.

The idea is the people just can play with the own coin on poker room, not with for example btc or tether. I see lot of crypto poker rooms with some freerolls and people just play the freerolls and send his winnings to another poker room. I want to avoid it.

About the scamming. Always is a possibility, but I'm not interested on presale the coins or make money with it. Just interested on see if is possible to create a community about this idea, and to the moon. If people wins, I win is my consideration...

Is this "our coin" another cryptocurrency that will be traded in the open market or just for internal use? I think you should just focus on building the platform and have this coin just like "chips" in real casinos. There are plenty of crypto that are already available and you don't want the stress of having speculators complain about the price of your coin.

Of course, the cryptocurrency may be traded in the open markets. The idea is:

- You download the GUI wallet and create a new address.
- You fund your address (via purchasing the coin on exchange, or via "mining" it contributing to the rng).
- You join to any poker table with your coins (any table is linked to an address).
- The amount of coins you selected are sent to the table address.
- When you sit out the table, the coins you have at table, are sent to your address.
- You just pay the tx fee for sent and receive, not for playing.

I don't know all the details but a casino called Betnomi tried that in the beginning but dropped it later on since it didn't go well for them. I'm not sure if they plan to incorporate that again in the future.

Yes. I did not known betnomi, but I checked it and yes, the idea is really similar, but only for poker. The blockchain will be used for store all hands played too. Anyone could see any hand played, and the results of the rng for each hand.

I'm not planning premine, just a fee around 0.5% for acting as pool for rng contributors. With it, we could open one or two freerolls per day, when we develop the mtt functions. For first versions we onlye planning to open cash games and sit and goes, not mtt...

I understand that reputation is an important part. Is because I think the best way to get it, is to create a good community, and transparency.

Will this be decentralized, or are you trying to make it decentralized?
I'm not really interested in poker but will probably help contribute ideas on making the platform safe and decentralized (assuming you want it decentralized). An only interested in contributing to Decentralized poker Platform and it has to be about responsible and safe poker games.

The problem I see with your idea is that the vast majority of casinos (I don't know if all of them) offer you the possibility to play with a variety of coins of your choice.

I believe that your idea could only succeed if the coin you create reaches a great value. So people would be interested in buying/mining it. But I don't think it will come to that just because it serves to play poker on that specific website.

There are not that many people who play poker regularly. And those who do have many more options to play, probably with better software and more variety of currencies.

Other than that, anonymity can bring collusion. I don't know how you plan to fight that. I wouldn't play in a  poker room where people can collude.

This is very easy to build if you will not involve any fiat or currency that has a real value so that you didn't need license to operate anymore. If you're idea is just for fun poker room game, this will be good for launching a poker event especially for bitcointalk user. It will be lot easier to list it on playstore if you are planning a mobile app.

It's a different story if you want to used a coin with real value in the future. In my experience, You will need license to operate and playstore will never list a game like that. This is a good idea and I will support this movement. I'm willing to become a beta tester once the game is up.

This sounds very interesting. I would recommend make a Discord server instead of a Telegram group, or better do both. But with Discord you can connect much more people and it makes it easier to share things from your project.

One question I have is, why not include rake? You could just make a very small rake fee (much lower than the usual fees on poker rooms) and you still would be attractive to the big names.

Also, why not accept all kind of crypto coins? This would make it much easier for people to deposit money.

Better have a dry run or a preview of what you actually wanted, it might be needed by player, investors or as well supporters to really see whether it have potential. There are already casino that do have their coins in their casino but do not have trading value in exchanges. To be able to have a support better find first a platform like if thru ETH, EOS and etc. There is also a need of proof of works before you can have investors a as many fears to get scam now.

Of course, I'm talking about no rake on tables (rake on poker rooms here in my country is around 7%, lot of money per month) and annonymous in that no documentation will be required for play, like any other cryptocurrency.

If you check for example Pokerstars website (originally it was just a poker room), you can see that they opened a Sportsbook and Casino. And 90% of his promos are for this players and not for poker player. I want to recover the essence of online poker.

About the collusion. Well, I think the correct is "poker can bring collusion". Of course, anyone can create 5 wallets and play with the 5 in same table. But I can do exactly the same in any poker room I want. Just need 4 colleagues with a Pokerstars account (KyC verified) and a his mobile phones. Just download the pokerstars app, and play at the same table with the 5 accounts without wifi. 5 diferent persons, with 5 diferent mobile phones and IP's.

The idea is launch only windows/OSX/Linux wallet and not mobile apps. In our opinion, as I said, most powerful tool for collusion are the mobile apps. And of course, the typical rules anticollusion. It is more difficult to do with three computers than with three mobiles...

Pokerstars are the best in the market to catch cheaters. The scenario you list up with 5 account on 5 devices sounds simple, but in reality PS would catch up on that in no time. They are extremely sophisticated when in comes to security and irregular behavior.

I have a hard time seeing experienced players play on a platform as you describe because the chances of being cheated/colluded/scammed, are just way to high.

The easiest solution would be only Heads Up tables until you attract a big player pool.
If at one point your pool grow big you could reconsider if your pool/activity is high enough to run 6-max tables. A minimum would be random seating and maybe even min-max time for each player before they are re-seated to a new table.

Yes, Pokerstars has a great collusion detecting system. I think Winamax (my "main" room) is good detecting it. But change Pokerstars for any other room with mobile app and you know I'm saying the truth.

Of course, we can fight the collusion, for example, not allowing more than 1/2 players of same country in the same table (checked via IP). Or directly as you said, heads up tables and random sitting

I did not say that you would get more variety of users if you put more variety of games. I talked about variety of currencies. But I suppose you would get more users anyway.

What incentive do people have to play with a coin that, in principle, will be worth almost 0?

On the other hand, pokerstars has a team dedicated to monitoring cases of collusion and, when in doubt, banning the user while investigating the case. The problem with anonymous users is that collusion is much easier. But I don't want to go on too long with this, because I see that in the last message you said that you could take some measures.

This being said,  I have to say that I would like your idea to succeed. A poker only room and with 0 rake, that would be great for me. If the coin had real value, like being in the top ten at coinmarketcap.com, it would be wonderful. But that's dreaming a lot I think.

So, the First thing they should do is make their coin to be listed somewhere (exchange)? then after this they can proceed on making their coin as a primary payment option on their gameroom?

The same things what comes to my mind is rng based on full table entropy. But there is a little problem: you need good amount of initial entropy, that means that maybe you will be needed to ask players (through GUI) to move their mouse or press different keys. But maybe there will be enough just actions which player do by themselves before game start. Need to count

Don't you want to start going with btc as your main cryptocurrency before ending up with your own coin or token? Check how many blockchain-based casinos have done that in recently and the rate of those projects are low in recognition.
