Anyone know why etherscan down?
https://etherscan.io/

I was checking some transaction and it cant be accessed as of this writing.

Etherscan is my number one blockexplorer of ethereum transcations.

Perhaps someone knows why this happened? Maintenance?

No I have just logged in, it works fine for me, no issue. try to access from another laptop or your smartphone.
Or just close and reopen your browser. If you have already this issue clear your web cache / delete your cookies.
Maybe it's just a temporary issue from your side... [This is the current blockheight 11156882]

Etherscan is working fine with me. Maybe you should restart your wifi, clear cache, update your browser. And also check if its correctly spelled.

It's working for me either maybe just an internet connection problem from OP that's why it's hard for him to see he website or it's too long to reload.

And for OP you can use other alternative to check your balance like https://ethplorer.io/  so you dont need to wait if you have problem with etherscsn.

A day has passed and it should be working to you just like what others have said and it only looks like your browser doesn't see it. If until today it doesn't work to you properly, try to follow the advise of bitbollo of clearing cache.

And if it still doesn't work, check your router and have it restarted. The issue only happens to your end so it's not an actual problem or error or there's no maintenance have been done by etherscan.

They had all answered your question but how can we know you have listened to them when there is no appreciation replies from OP or any reply that it couldn't work after performing instructiona been suggested above.
I think this manner wouldn't help at all, its been 24hrs now from the time you created this thread requesting for answers but we can't hear from you whether it works or not.

Another suggestion I have for you OP is that you can always check if the site is totally down for everyone or just you.
https://isitdown.me will help you with that. Just type in the domain of the site that isn't loading for you and search. You will get information about the site on whether it's online or offline

Alternatively you can use a multi blockchain explorer like blockchair.com. It can check transactions in the Ethereum network as well.

Sometimes i encounter that thing when visiting etherescan, in my case its due to cloudflare and too many are using the site. What i do is to clear cookies and cache and restart my phone.
