I've only heard of it when you posted it in here. I'm not updated to European news and that's why I thank you for posting it here. Didn't know that they just went through a second lockdown. The first lockdown showed how it affected the entire economy of a country and the rest of the world took the same step a and see how it affected everyone's lives. But if it is necessary to do it, for sure there were aid from the government for temporary survival until they open their economy again. The worst isn't just all about recovery but the mental stress that citizens will have while being in the 2nd lockdown.

What is the worst case scenarios that come in your mind when you read this news?.

If it is needed to safe more people's lives, then it is good to lockdown again. The economy recovery shouldn't be too much concern where health and life is important. So I follow the reasoning of  shutting down for a second time if covid-19 has broke out again but the government should support the people rapidly to grow the economy when the lockdown is over.

Worse case scenario has already been stated in the article. What else a country with almost 50,000 tallied cases every single day could do to stop the spread?
Let's just accept the fact that it would really kill hundreds if not thousands of businesses specifically in the entertainment and events industry. That's one major way to mitigate the spread. Health is wealth.

Now, my verdict about covid as an attack to the economy has now become even stronger. I don't know about this conspiracy theory, but If this is true, then I can say this is an intelligent idea not spending a single bullet to kill citizens and the economy at the same time.

The economy will survive anyway. The losses will be huge, but governments believe it is better to have economic losses than loss of human lives. Also, do not forget that in addition to direct deaths from the epidemic, there may be health consequences that will remain for a lifetime. It is insanely pity for the failing enterprises, but after overcoming the consequences of the pandemics, one should expect the return of such enterprises, but with new owners. There is such an expression - a holy place is never empty and here it fits very precisely.

the move is to contain the continuous spread of the virus. yes, a lot of businesses will be affected but it is all the same around the world. they are not the only country suffering right now. i guess they still have better living than those in the 3rd world countries. they may have this lockdown again, but the govt is just thinking the impact of covid to its citizens. they dont want more people to die. so are you going to exchange the business with your life? i dont think so. we have only 1 life and that business, they can always get back on their feet but with life, if youre dead you have nothing to do anymore.
people can always recover no matter what crisis they will encounter, pandemic, intense tropical cyclones, bushfires crisis ect.

Lockdown isn't a problem for small business if their government has this plan beforehand for small business to contain such thing. If they will still be able to operate amidst the pandemic and lockdown then they will survive, but I doubt they will only let this happen to businesses that is necessary for people like food restaurants and any providing needs related. The answer is that, until when? if it's only a week or a month they might be unaffected at all.
Upon reading the article, the lockdown seems to be taking months before being lifted. Probably, things got off from governmen's plan of being prepared for this. They might not saw it coming. Small businesses will be having a hard time to protect its existence in the market if lockdown will not be finished as soon as possible. But let us hope things will not be worsen. People for sure have already learned from the previous lockdown which could help to lessen its period and for the economy to be able to recover immediately. It is us who will help each other in the first place.

I believe France and Germany are developed countries that have good economic advisors. So the second lockdown will not destroy
the economy. I am sure these two countries have learned a lot from the first lockdown, so that the second lockdown can be more
controllable. And I'm sure not all sectors will be closed, so the economy can still run in a second lockdown. Humans have very good
adaptability, compared to other living things. Therefore I am sure that the European economy will not fall, and can recover again.

In Austria they're introducing curfew. You won't be able to leave the house at night, which is pretty much what they did in Italy in Spring where people had to party on their balconies because they were not allowed to go out. At least I'll have some free time to do work around the house and tidy up a bit. Just for the record, none of my friends and family are sick. They are reporting thousands of cases every day and I'm yet to see someone get sick for real.

If the people are very cooperative then they can survive this one but if not, expect their government to struggle more especially on controlling the virus. Asian countries successfully fight this pandemic because of the lockdown, and their people are cooperative and I do hope that everyone will follow the government, this is just a small sacrifices for us to survive, let’s take this seriously.

A much worst case scenario if the virus continues to spread all over the country so this is a great move by Germany and France. They are a developed country but their people needs to help their government as well and fight this virus as one. They succeeded on first lockdown and I’m sure they can stand still this time around and finally control the virus. Germany is doing their best to find the vaccine, I do support this one and I know they all have the resources to fight the virus.

This is a big challenge to them and yes small businesses are indeed affected on this another lockdown but hopefully they don’t give up easily and continue to fight until they have the chance to go up again. The health is what more important right now, you might lose your job but at least you’re still healthy and kicking, this second lockdown is a biggest challenge to Germany and France, maybe they have a concrete plan regarding this one and with France, I hope that they can also control the terrorism while fighting the virus.

It was really sad for them for they have again setting their countries into lockdown and that is already for the second time around. Those European countries are one of the earliest countries to remove their lockdown and have opened up their economies for they have manage to control the number of cases on their countries. It was just so bad that they once again needed to impose another lockdown. Yes, it can totally affect their economy but health must be the priority for we may expect the worst things to come if they won't do the lockdown because the cases might severely get into an inflation which will get things worst to handle. Let us just all hope that this would be the last time they will be into a lockdown and may they handle this issue to recover fast just like what they have done before.

The lockdown is really sucks but it should be done by their government in order for them to stop the virus to spread in  countries in Europe, most of the active cases nowadays are in Europe and I think it is the reason why they have now strict health protocols. There will be a huge impact to their economy again because of the another lockdown that the government implemented, I am sure that there is a study behind that and they know that there will be impact in their GDP as they close their economy once again.

But what they did is good for me because the virus will keep spreading if they will not make any move. The health facilities in Europe are also the best unlike here in my country it is really sucks because of poor health protocls and also poor health facility. The economy of Europe can surely survive it but for me there will be a huge impact and it will take a long time to recover what they lose.

Europe's second lockdown will never sustain their economy the second lockdown will bring the economy down further the economy will be hit hard by a series of drastic measures including a second lockdown to deal with the crisis. There will be tension in the livelihood of innumerable people Productivity has also fallen on deaf ears although many countries have tried to deal with the situation through emergency subsidies and various financial assistance there are fears that the government's coffers could run into a long-term crisis if they exceed their capacity..

I don't know why they are destroying their economies with these stupid lockdowns. Now it is up to the people to take the necessary precautions, such as wearing masks and maintaining social distancing. Strict measures from the government, such as new lockdowns will not reduce the number of new cases, and at the same time it will cripple the already damaged economy.

Right now people are prepared to face the crisis. When it is new, there is more fear and the impact was very severe. By that time governments were also unable to tackle the situation as the spreading is quite fast compared to the present days. Now people have made precautions and majority of the people have started to wear mask and avoid touch. The second lockdown is imposed out of second wave of virus spreading.

Germany being highly technology dependent and manufacturing focused it will be a blow to the economy when there lacks production. France is combined of the fashion industry which also contributes to a massive amount to the economy. The country operates with better precaution, this lockdown will not have a big blow over the economy as the past.

snip..
actually enforcing "LOCKDOWN" will only make citizens (workers and small entrepreneurs) suffer even more.  Just imagine for 14 days they can't work and do free activities, if they have enough savings then it doesn't matter but what about those who don't have savings? So sure they will go into debt and even sell their valuables things.  for me "LOCKDOWN" is no longer effective, better monitor the residents and enforce health protocols (wear a mask and bring a hand sanitizer) strictly..

The countries in Europe will still survive in the second lockdown, no matter if that is hard because they don't want to see another big wave of Covid. We can't blame their decision to lockdown their countries because I am sure they will have their reason, and perhaps, the only way to reduce the big number of the infection is by the second lockdown.

We know that the lockdown affects their citizen, the business owner, whether it's a big or small business owner, but they will search the other way to survive.

The worst scenario that can happen is that people in that country will not survive and are suffering because of this second lockdown. But we will see what the government will do to minimize infection risk and still trying to survive.

Economy can survive anything, people are reacting like economy is not something we didn't made up, it is a paper money that we give value towards and if we want to we can always give the same value to it anytime we want as well. Just to give an example, there are tons of companies and there are tons of people in any nation right?

Well, the money is still the same money, the amount doesn't get lower, nobody is out there burning out cash, there is no bank deleting all the digital traces, so the same exact money in the world is still exists, why would anyone get affected?

Let me tell you why, because companies will want more and more of it while people will not have more of it, and if that stops due to pandemic companies and CEO's will do anything to make people starve in order to keep profiting a dollar more.

I was looking at some of the stats. And I wonder what they have achieved till now. Just checked the stats from Belgium, where they now have more than 1,000 deaths per million from  COVID 19. That is, losing 0.1% of the population to the virus in 6 months. Compare this to the United States. There is no lockdown there, and the deaths per million seems to be lower than some of the European nations.
