Worse? Oh boy! There are so many ideas of how our beloved Earth will be broken down into pieces right now. However, despite of all the misfortunes happening not only happening in Europe but for the rest of the world, I choose to stay positive live the day like these things are not existing. Mind over matter indeed Cheesy, just be optimistic and you will attract good vibes eventually.

Anyway, gong back to the topic, I don't feel that Europe will suffer very hard as their second lockdown approaching. Germany and France are developed countries already. We can expect that they can sustain longer times of quarantine with a minimal change in the quality of life. Don't get me wrong guys, I am not discounting what they are going through right now. But try to compare their situation to the situation of people in some portion of Asia where pandemic and disastrous calamities are currently occuring.

I'm sure they must have thought well about it before it was declared, europe is an advanced country. There are just certain things that needs to be done by priority. Why did they declare the lockdown? When they discovered that the rate of death by COVID-19 has skyrocketed again, they cannot leave people to be dying and be considering the economy alone, who are the economy meant for?I support they save the life of citizens first and the economy will sort itself later.

What is the worst case scenarios that come in your mind when you read this news?.
the countries that are on the topic are well developed countries and its only on thier second lockdown . thats not too much compare to other countries that are already imposed a third and more lockdowns and take note that these countries are more poorer or underdeveloped and the best part is that they dont worry , you can rarely hear thier voice doing complaints  .

what can they do with that if thats the order of the higher court ? lockdowns are not bad but its also thier consequence for not following protocols  .

So sad to hear this news. I'm sure this will affect more in their economy which is slowly getting back into place when the first lockdown was implemented.  However, I believe that the economy will survive and probably they already learned a lot from the first wave of covid -19 and I hope that they are more smarter now in dealing with economic crisis as well as containing the virus from rapid spreading. This might be hard for the Government of these countries but I strongly believe that they will make it through by using their past experiences, to do their best this time.
After all, its the lives of the people that matters over the economy. Besides, European Countries have unlimited resources, they can give assistance and help their countrymen in any ways possible.

Chaos will ensue, not only those who lose their jobs because at least with the demonstrations and the looting of the shop, it certainly makes the situation more chaotic. Instead of stopping the spread of the virus, it will only make the spread of the virus faster but strangely enough, so far I don't know whether the demonstrators have had complaints of being exposed to Covid-19 or not.

This is really a catastrophic that happens in the world. The first world countries in Europe will gradually turn down because of lockdown. Many people will lose some of their jobs and poverty may arise. I hope that this pandemic will end already because every lives have been affected by Covid-19. This will kill millions of people because of hunger. The 2020 is almost to end but there is still no chance for this pandemic to end up. It is really sad and chaotic.

I have friends there in United Kingdom and I hope they are okay despite the month-long lockdown. What I am not impressed about their lockdown measures is that when restaurants are forced to be closed, schools, universities and parks remain open.

I just don’t understand why they keep opening schools, universities and parks during the lockdown where it’s not suppose to be. It would contribute even more to the sharp increase of COVID-19 cases there.

Why don’t they just switch to online or modular learning? I’m sure it will help lessen the cases.

This is what the Philippines is doing now. Despite that tourist activities are slowly resuming, the country is more prepared than in the past few months. During the early times of COVID-19 here in the country, I was locked down for 2 months and not being able to go out of my house since only my dad has a quarantine pass to go out and buy essential goods as he’s the head of the family.

After that, we are allowed to go out like we used to, but not for leisure purposes (with the exception of coffee shops like Starbucks and Coffee Bean lol) but may need to wear masks, face shield, maintain physical distancing and proper hygiene.

I think UK and the rest of the European countries should start swallow their pride and learn from those countries like Taiwan who successfully contained COVID and not having a local transmission for like 2 months already.

They might have learnt some lessons and gained experience from the way the first wave of the pandemic and how it was curtailed, and they knew the consequences of embarking on total lockdown to their economies for example football leagues was allowed to go on in empty stadia in this period unlike during the first wave when all sporting activities was put on hold, also partial or tiers of lockdown was imposed in some of the European countries, I believed this present lockdown will be well managed to forestall it devastating impact on the economy.
The lasting solution to this  problem is vaccine, once it is produced things will go back to normal economy will improve,  job lost will be reclaimed.

I saw the article few weeks ago that make me feel for the citizens of Germany for the second lockdown their government are about to announce. With what the pandemic has caused to their economy negatively during the first lockdown. I don't think the government of France and Germany will do their possible best to make sure there is solution.
Many investors loss so much profit From their investment due to the lockdown that was on ground over 7 months, which many of them are finding it difficult to do well in their businesse. Some just coming up base on what the first lockdown has caused to their investment that is making the citizens pray to God not to allow second lockdown happen. If the government announce second lockdown,it will totally collapse the economy of the country which they are just recovering from the first lockdown that happened to their economy

Take to the streets in protest is not a wise move at this time. Even if you strongly disagree with government policy, going down the road to protest is the worst option. In the midst of a pandemic that is getting crazy, you only worsen the condition of the country. Not getting a solution to the problem that happened, it made it worse.

I don't mind people protesting, anytime and anywhere - but then these same people shouldn't seek medical help when they get infected - let them stay home and cure themselves of a virus they consider harmless. These are people who have 0% empathy for others, who want to live as before and don't care if 100 or 10 000 people die tomorrow.

However, I am very confused by the conditions in Europe, why the virus spreads so fast considering the conditions in Europe are far above the average for developing countries, it is not that the people should have a higher awareness of health and the government is better prepared to handle a pandemic like this. But in fact, the spread of the virus in Europe is higher than in my developing country.

The virus has mutated and is now xx times more contagious than in the first wave, and considering that it is autumn and that people are staying more and more indoors we have a real explosion of infection. There is no difference between developed and underdeveloped countries when it comes to spreading the disease, it's just about how responsible people are, and a good part of the EU population behaves very irresponsibly - they don't wear masks, they don't disinfect their hands, they don't keep social distance - and in addition, they tell others that the virus is just a fabrication.

With all this, the EU is completely divided on how to curb the virus, there are no common measures and the whole thing is completely out of control - if there is no effective vaccine soon, what happened in Italy last winter will happen in most EU countries.

There is no other way to lock down because in fact that way can break the chain of spreading the covid virus, but it is very unfortunate that many people ignore it by not implementing health protocols, even though there are many people who are willing to lose their jobs because of the impact of the spread of the virus that is not has not subsided, many countries are still affected by this spread and hopefully this disaster will be quickly over so we can breathe fresh air again.

I believe of both countries can handle that crisis and they are equipped to overcome those obstacles. Having second lockdown of such countries it only shows we are still not winning of this pandemic because strict protocol countries like France and Germany are still vulnerable of virus. That's why we must not be complacent at all times and stay vigilant all the times, we may flattening the curve but it doesn't mean corona virus is gone. Until we don't have the vaccine  we are still vulnerable.

All are vulnerable to this viruses it is up for us whether we can stand against the virus or not. Means that it is our immune system that can get us to win against the virus. The records that has been showing by the WHO are just only part of the whole population that has been affected by the virus but few of them are really getting sick after affected by the virus. So, in order to combat the virus we have to strengthen out immune sytem. The transmision of the saif virus is difficult to stop because it is highly contageous.

Europe's second lockdown will hurt the economy even more. Before the second wave of the Corona arrives there is a hint of a recession in the economy across Europe meanwhile the pace of GDP growth has accelerated to a negative trend. Economists have warned that a lot of wood will have to be burned to turn around this fragile situation. But Europe's central bank says it is ready to deal with the recession with all kinds of defenses. Europe's economic recovery is declining faster than expected the next wave will be worse.

I believe their economy will be able to survive...
Europe has a society that has a forward mindset, unlike developing countries which have a stubborn society. and also the political situation in European countries is very good so that the second lockdown will definitely not have a bad effect on their economies.

These are people who have 0% empathy for others, who want to live as before and don't care if 100 or 10 000 people die tomorrow.

I couldn't agree more, they deserve it. However, I believe it will not happen if they remain to take to the street in protest and they infected, they aren't worth getting medical help. They are not even worthy of being considered social beings, staying away from them is the right step to distance themselves from the spread of the pandemic which is getting crazy. But, we are just talking about the possibility.

With all this, the EU is completely divided on how to curb the virus, there are no common measures and the whole thing is completely out of control - if there is no effective vaccine soon, what happened in Italy last winter will happen in most EU countries.

Hopefully, this lockdown policy can run effectively so that the worst possibility like Italy will not happen, and the most important thing in handling this problem is a cooperation between the community and the government. The success of this policy is very unlikely without public awareness. Because the real proof of this success is the New Zealand country, the government continues to make a heart-to-heart communication approach to its society so that it complies with the policies that have been made, and societies also stand together to fight the pandemic by obeying all the policies that have been implemented.

If there is a sign of second wave then it is nit going to be restricted into a border, the whole world might face the second wave of corona and for sure it is going to affect the economy once it hit the range which forces the government to lockdown the country with no choice.Especially the festive season is coming in a month which is going to trigger the second wave sooner.

Probably they can survive that, if they survived the first, they can still overcome it. We all know most of the countries in Europe do have a good state of economy compared to those countries which are under developed.

I think they will experience struggle but they will overcome it easily.

Covid-19 is getting weaker nowadays, I don't know how and I don't know why, I just feel it.

Here in our country, although our economy is not that good and the governments are irresponsible to take some actions regarding this pandemic. They have a confident mindset that Covid-19 is really weak, that's why most of the businesses here are operating slowly, day by day, so that we can somehow control the economic crisis.

crush small business owners morale

The biggest thing that strikes me about the general lockdown situation is it must restrict and effect the service sector worst of all.   Its a problem as many western countries have developed past basic industries to rely on too much of a service, entertainment and other non essential business.   Of course we cant have people dying for the sake of unneeded parties and similar, its not an option to ignore possible deaths from staying open and to do so would cause deaths in other required industries that cannot be halted.
The simple conclusion is light weight business will suffer far more then large operations that can be automated and maintain a distance while producing efficiency, on top of that small business seems likely to struggle.

But the history says, when we are hit by the pandemic a century earlier people survived in the first but second wave costs huge amount of lives and did damage a lot than the first one.Yes humanity will survive for sure but how much people are going to lose their life if there is another wave? Still vaccines are not created for the world population and it may take at least one more year from now.

I’m sure by now all must have heard that Germany and France have imposed second lockdown, and this news shall crush small business owners morale, and even effect those people who rely on jobs cause it’s quiet possible that they may never be employed again.
The first lockdown has already killed many small business and many shut their business and now if they lock everything once again it will cause irreparable damage as many will be left jobless including small business owners and what the government could do to help them is still not known and i do not think the government will do anything to help these small businesses.
