And now we heard again that would make a second lockdown in europe and Ill think that was a good Idea for me to prevent the virus spread all over. And the economy will down for now but if the lockdown will end I think it gonna back again to normal.

The second lockdown will be the last one for sure even there's another wave. They should take the first lockdown as a lesson. It's no secret that when the number of confirmed cases in the region slows down, lots of people become comfortable and relax. There are strict health protocols but at some point, it hasn't followed in some cases due to the thinking that virus spread is now being slow down.

The last lockdown - the success of it will depend on their new adjustments.

@chaser15 now Greece too has announced a second lockdown, and I personally feel that they only have themselves to blame for this lockdown, because in their bid to earn money from tourists, they ended up getting more covid cases. Furthermore analysts also believe that Greece’s economy will tank for now, but if everything remains open next year then it’s quiet possible that their economy might rebound to a certain extent.

They will probably survive,

Since this is their second lockdown, they know at least what they need to do. Unlike in the first lockdown where everyone is really waiting for advise from the government on what everyone should do in times like this.

We humans have this ability to easily adapt to changes including difficulties that comes with it. The last time we had the first experience, it was unforseen situations that led everyone panic. Just like saying there is man made virus without cure that's capable of ending the world, it was that fear of contacting the virus made every country to locked down their state and borders to avoid outsiders and immigrants from bringing in the virus ( epidemic virus).
It's no longer new to us, with proper prevention and early cure, it can be cub from ones system and I believe from this  experience, government of countries will have budget for this kind of future problems.

Ps: There will be a limit to lab works especially when they comtain virus and harmful chemicals. Lebanon explosion came to my mind.

The European economy after the lockdown will not be as normal as before, because this second lockdown has an increasingly severe economic impact.  Unemployment will be higher, but the productive age will continue to increase.  When companies reduce their workforce, at the same time the number of fresh graduates increases, adding to the existing unemployment list.  European economy will not be as good as before, even now all countries across Europe have prepared the worst scenario in their economy.  They have predicted that this will increase the country's debt.  This is a signal that their economy is not doing well.

Furthermore it’s pertinent to note that this lockdown has come during the holiday season, and if it continues to stay in place then Europe’s economy could be severely impacted, and therefore in my personal opinion it could take year’s before European economy completely recovers.
What is the worst case scenarios that come in your mind when you read this news?.
Can't disagree, it will take several years for european countries to get rid of lockdown's aftermath, but thats their choice.
Look at USA, they've proceeded to open everything when it clearly was not completely safe to do so - and they did it to boost economy, because they thought or maybe still think its worth it.
European countries, on the other hand, still value people's lives over economy.

@dady12,

"......European countries, on the other hand, still value people's lives over economy...."

Honestly i get piss-off whenever i come across this kind of comment
well, it seems good & appealing to our hearing but, its not because this is what they want us to believe.

I also believe that you can  see the number of businesses that are closing-up in your location? this is financial/economic-virus in action
If they actually value your live, 365 days is sufficient for all the doctors around the globe to come-up with something while awaiting the vaccine bomb!

well,26 years plus i never had any serious health problem i don't know what is takes to spend a night or more at the sick bed except for some working medical test.

My mother said breast-feeded me uptil the age of 3 maybe this could be the reason why my blood is immune to most of these diseases.howver, i think this a good news to nursing mother instead of preserving their breast in order to look very SEXY.

Pls, apply the natural God-given vaccine to your baby at the early stage because it will save you thousand if, not millions on medications.

I'm not really happy with what is happening in our society today also, i think  there are lot of political interest. Just like they've always hide behind any problem that needs urgent intervention.

I'm sorry if, anybody gets offended by comment. Years back i lost my only sister due to illness. i think she & my mother have same blood group. so, i also know what it means  to lost a beloved one. we should not take advantage of the current situation to create & spread fear in the heart of people.

Note : i have litrary reach out one-one to help both elderly & young people in midst of some nasty situation. some just see this as an opportunity to abandone or keep a distance from elderly people

The plan for raising the economy there didn't go as a plan or maybe a lack of preparations. They think it's enough to follow health protocols but without strict implementation, it will be useless. Not to blame only the government but their people itself.

During the lockdown, tourists are not permitted, right? I don't know about Greece but they still allow tourist visits during the lockdown? Or when they lifted it, they just decide to promote tourism right away because they think it's now safe.

Not only your news, the bad news that I've gotten recently is the involvement of Grayscale, MicroStrategy, Square, ... investing in bitcoin to HOLD!
this shows that they indirectly commented on the general economy that is cracking every day. According to some reputable newspapers, the reason is that they fear the Dollar and many other currencies will suffer heavy inflation in the following years.
therefore we should also be careful when investing in stocks or gold, we don't know in advance what will happen. I really have a very bad feeling about the financial markets as well as the general economy of the world.

yeah right, we can't just blame the government.  Cooperation between government and society is needed.  When the lockdown policy is enforced, we should comply with the policy, not only comply with health protocols, we can also remind our families and people around us to comply with applicable regulations.  The government also has to make very strict and well-planned regulations, not decisions that are rash, or decisions that are not well prepared.  Because 1 wrong decision in this pandemic could make the country continue to fall into the future.

If the lockdown continue for long time then large number of people will face economical crisis badly. During first lockdown period most of the top richest people have done well with their net worth. I have read this at many news paper and article. You can check this article about it. In my opinion only middle and lower class people will suffer much for the lockdown. But it may not affect like previous lockdown. Employer will loss their job and they will face big economical problem, businessman may survive nicely as they have gained good experience from first lockdown.

Nothing is permanent in this world. We must endure whatever the pandemic brings us. I believe this will end soon and all will be fine and things will be back to normal and for better we have learned our lessons. These lockdowns are needed for the majority. I know how it is hard to survive especially for those small business owners . Me myself have encountered those and thankfully i have overcome this with my family. So we don't need to give up. Fight until we see the good end.

^ hold on, this is all we need to do. This second lockdown will not starve those in Europe. In the first lockdown, it seems that European countries are not ready, but in the second lockdown, I believe they are more prepared.

This second lockdown seems not to be discussed too much because several countries have considered Covid 19 to be a common disease. Just see, currently, Saudi Arabia has opened their country to Muslims who will carry out the pilgrimage there.

I think results of European lock downs are already showing. Covid-19 is not spreading as fast as did only a week ago. Big question is if countries will be able to tackle covid-19 as they did in the first wave. Or all they will be able to achieve will be just to prevent catastrophe.

It depends on what is considered a long time. There are serious concerns that the second lockdown with different variations may last the entire current winter season, when constant partial easing of restrictions will alternate with subsequent tightening of restrictions, unless there is something breakthrough in the production of the vaccine and rapid total vaccination of the population. And some experience from the first wave may not always be a good helper, because now the time of the second wave will be longer.

I have the opinion that a second lockdown in Europe will not destroy the economy, The government in Europe should be better prepared
to face a second lockdown. There must be several steps taken so that the second lockdown will not have a bad impact on the economy.
Then Germany and France which have imposed a second lockdown, including countries with a fairly good economy, so I believe that once
the lockdown ends the economic recovery will be rapid. So don't worry too much about this second lockdown, I am optimistic that the economy
in Europe will survive.

By the first wave of spreading people have got affected, and they're ready to accept and move forward. In terms of finance and health people have been highly affected, but the survival gives them more strength to go further. Even now the worst part, at certain locations people aren't ready to wear mask and follow safety measures. Second wave won't have big impact as the first one in terms of lives and economic crash.

Another test in humanity, where people learn a lot of lessons in life during this lockdown, whether financial or survival strategies. Now, we can appreciate those preppers and how they are fully prepared on this type of crisis.

They got used to it after the first one and they now know what to do. We were all scared like it's the start of the end of the world where we all are going to kill each other to survive. When I first heard people are looting stores, I bought some barbwires but then I realized overreacting is more dangerous. I'm sure they all have learned their lesson since the first lockdown.

Europe will survive. They are not going to entirely lockdown anyway, probably just streets or villages where there are infected people. If I was from there, I'd probably prepare dried fish, bread flour, and rice.

Economy can survive anything, people are reacting like economy is not something we didn't made up, it is a paper money that we give value towards and if we want to we can always give the same value to it anytime we want as well. Just to give an example, there are tons of companies and there are tons of people in any nation right?

Well, the money is still the same money, the amount doesn't get lower, nobody is out there burning out cash, there is no bank deleting all the digital traces, so the same exact money in the world is still exists, why would anyone get affected?

Let me tell you why, because companies will want more and more of it while people will not have more of it, and if that stops due to pandemic companies and CEO's will do anything to make people starve in order to keep profiting a dollar more.
That is not true, look at the previous world power nations; they are in the above of the ladder or the socioeconomic status in terms of countries but they failed to sustain their economy and it is the reason why they been demoted and been replace by other countries. Economy can collapse through war, terrorist attack, rioting and also in pandemic, Europe is one of the richest continent and most of the countries there have good governance so there is high possibility that they can so a second lockdown in order to reverse the epidemic growth. I'm sure that every country in Europe have a task force wherein they are focusing to suppress the cities by doing lockdown in order to prevent the growth of the person who are infected with the virus. The good thing is the virus will stop growing during lockdown but the bad thing is many businesses will be force to close down.

Obviously the pandemic is not going to last forever. But we need to understand that a lot of people are facing joblessness and poverty as a result of this pandemic. The Spanish flu pandemic of 1918 lasted for more than two years. If COVID 19 turns out similar to that one, then we will be in a lot of trouble. The economy can't handle another year of downturn. Even the richest countries will face financial issues.

The lockdown or not has also made the people's economy difficult,
because businesses cannot develop, and only home businesses are now survive,
if you talk about survival, for people to survive in this pandemic, they certainly have to fight hard, and for the country too,
because of imports and export is now difficult to do.
