Literally everything you see regarding Bitcoin is a development and improvement since the whitepaper was released. Heck, the day the whitepaper was released, the software and source code wasn't even released yet.

For me since he already left the project, so I would say it's done already.

It has been used as means of payment already, but it has evolved in so many form, becoming one of the greatest assets in the last 10 years or so. Well, there LN, and then we have the threat of quantum computing, and maybe in the future it will progress if ever SHA256 will be broken, so obviously we will have to move to a more secure hash algorithm.

Work in progress. I mean, it would and will always receive some sort of change, its form right now may look to be final, but it isn't set as final yet since it can always be changed as long as the entire community agrees. We may say that that is nearly impossible, but still, it isn't completely impossible, hence why it should still be a work in progress. You can see Bitcoins development right now, it is what it is. Changes for Bitcoin has always been public, and as for adoption, only time will tell, though imo it's just a matter of time.

Further developments are surely needed before this thing come to existence. PayPal indeed made a huge move of accepting cryptos as a mode of payment but the reason why is more likely related to taxation or profit in short. It is not even a crypto to crypto transaction. There is still a need to convert in fiat and that's not what crypto adoption is. Third party network is somewhat a good thing to happen especially if the network is having huge influence for other businesses to also do so and for more people to recognize the existence of this technology. But if it is only the name which will be adopted, then changes will not be that big.

I think we could say the main idea has been successfully achieved: it's p2p and doesn't require a trusted third party to function.

Bitcoin has changed drastically ever since. A ton of new functions and modifications have been done - you can see all the changes on the Bitcoin GitHub repo. We've had hard forks, big flaws that have been fixed and so on. It's like an eternal baby growing up.

Fully accepted? It depends on what you mean by "accepted". If you're talking about worldwide adoption, it'll never be. There will always be an opposition somewhere around the world. But right now, Bitcoin works in any corner of the world as a peer-to-peer electronic cash system. So if you take it this way, it's already working everywhere around the world.

It is because of decentralization. Bitcoin is indeed under the process of development and there are still things to work out for it to be widely accepted as a currency across countries. In terms of being an ivestment, it is really showing advantages over other investments but as a currency, it is still lacking in some aspects. Due to its volatile market value, many people still are afraid of storing their wealth into this technology, simply because of the risk. People are more seeking to assurance. Due to the market volatility, the market price tends to move most of the time which gives risk to their wealth if they would invest, which we cannot blame them from doing so because that's their money in the first place. No matter how we convince them, if there's something making them uncomfortable, they won't.

As long as bitcoin exists and it keeps being used by people then it will always be a work in progress and this is because just as governments improve their response against bitcoin, bitcoin will have to improve as well and it will never be done in that sense of the word, now about your other question about if it is going to ever be fully accepted around the world that depends on what you mean, bitcoin can already be used all over the world the only thing we need is adoption, but if what you mean is if if at some point in the future all governments of the world will accept it as an official form of payment I can say I do not expect to see that during my lifetime.

Bitcoin is a work in progress, just like any open source program.

For me since he already left the project, so I would say it's done already.

Left or died?
When a project gets abandoned it doesn't mean it's finished.
Let's think of an example. You are working on a book and get sick before finishing it, but whatever was done gets published anyway. Was it finished? Did you leave the project? Also no, because you're still alive and can technically add to it in future.

Bitcoin is open source and there are many contributors who actively work towards the development of bitcoin.
If you want to read the previous developments bitcoin had implemented then you can read the BIPs(Bitcoin Improvement Protocol)

There's so much more to improvise to it and I am sure that several such developments will take place in future.

-snip- now about your other question about if it is going to ever be fully accepted around the world that depends on what you mean, bitcoin can already be used all over the world the only thing we need is adoption, but if what you mean is if if at some point in the future all governments of the world will accept it as an official form of payment I can say I do not expect to see that during my lifetime.

Bitcoin can already be used by anyone in this world, without exception. but the problem is the regulations in each country. Regulations regarding the use of bitcoin as a legal tender are still in conflict for some countries. Adoption may be all that is needed to make bitcoin even more trustworthy, but what kind of adoption? Becoming an official payment is indeed very difficult and almost impossible. Due to the fluctuating nature of bitcoin and it cannot be controlled by anyone. Bitcoin is only another option for payment for goods and services but not the main payment.
We also don't know the future of bitcoin, because bitcoin continues to be developed and improved so that it can be accepted by everyone.

Good thing Satoshi was a very smart person because when he/they decided to leave and become anonymous, he leave Bitcoin that has an open-source code that everyone can make progress on it.  If you will be having research, Bitcoin developers were increased each number per year.  It means there are a lot more interested to make progress on Bitcoin source code which found here, https://github.com/bitcoin/bitcoin.

Bitcoin was now mainstream and I think Satoshi Nakamoto might happy to see that Bitcoin was now very popular all over the world.  Even though there are some countries that prohibited using Bitcoin but at least the vast majority are recognizing this as an alternative in online payment, most especially at this moment when really need cashless payment.

I think that is still a process and a future question but at the current time, bitcoin has done well. Many countries have been using it and for those that are using it, bitcoin has been seen as an option to their payment system especially in digital level. Also going by 3 years ago, the rate of users have increased and this year's pandemic, covid-19 has also made the bitcoin more popular.

It is a tasty pear  . The reason for the delay in transaction is because the world has acknowledged it has a currency but it is not able to accept all the transaction, but it is a development in progress .

His full vision can have many interpretation but we are yet to fully understand his entire vision. Right now BTCitcoin is an alternative payment system and with more developments we can see everyone using it as a payment system.

I believe that the development is still in progress because little by little we saw improvement and development in bitcoin as an electronic cash system like having an ATM machine in other area and being use of bitcoin as payments method in different platforms like in paypal which is now also going to accept bitcoin.

Its still on progress yet the line or statement itself do tell that he had been working for something and we know that the first
bitcoin been mined wasnt on that date so its under development. About developments and improvements then it had been tried to do such thing
even up to these years on solving up main flaws of Bitcoin itself ex. LN but its still under development and havent been perfected.
In regards to the question if satoshis goal have been reached then most likely yet he havent even expected for sure that his creation Bitcoin
did really make that big on what we are seeing now.Fully accepted? adoption is on the move but dont expect for full scale.

It's both. Satoshi successfully released and launched the Bitcoin protocol, and it is a peer-to-peer electronic cash, it's just not a widely used one, but it doesn't make it any less decentralized or electronic. Of course there will be always work to do, just like with any other complex software, so in some sense Bitcoin will never be finished, but that's a good thing, because it means that Bitcoin is progressing and adapting.

Some people would say that Bitcoin can only succeed if it's adopted by a lot of people, but I don't agree with that, as long as there's at least some users, then Bitcoin is not useless.
