Still in the concept stage writing the Game Development Document (GDD) but overflowing with ideas. We know this is a very ambitious project to undertake so we are looking for collaborators and likeminded people.
Work on a first prototype will start soon. The premise is a merge of features from games like
- The Sims
avatar and home customization
- Roblox
access different games within the game world
- Eve Online
extensive game world economy
- Perfect World
social interaction/collaboration with other players
Game assets can be issued as NFTs (ownership) for players to modify their character, home or parcel and for gamedevs (license agreement) to use in their own games (similar to an asset store). Gamedevs (or other service providers for that matter) will use their parcel as the gateway to and promotional outlet for their service. Imagine you can access UNIswap in the world and do swaps with your game account, or a streaming service whose library you can access, stream and pay for without leaving the game world.
The world starts with one city as the prototype and future test bed for new features. As development continues and demand rises, new cities will be opened around the globe. Each city starts with the same setting and is autark in the beginning. This will enable us to grow the world as a whole indefinitely with localized versions for deeper immersion (language, culture and services). By restricting first parcels to locals, players from developing countries will be able to own a parcel priced more fairly to their own economic situation. After reaching a certain level of development, the city opens up to the world, enabling travel and trade.
Similar to The Sims, players will have to send their character to work (when offline/sleeping) and gain experience over time working the same job. Industrious players can employ them to craft NFTs they are permitted to produce through a license agreement with the artist/issuer of the NFT which then again can be sold to all other players.
Resources and goods will have different prices in each city according to local demand and supply. Some will be available for production only in specific regions. These items can be traded between cities. City Governance can enact import/export tax whose revenue will be paid out to governance token holders.
We believe that this is a 'dream come true project' for many, hence we will try to raise funds for development by auctioning off parcels of land in the first (international) city. Each parcel is also a vote in governance of the project on city and global level. Tax collected on transactions in the world would be redistributed to holders of the governance token.
Our team so far consists of 1 senior unity3D dev, 1 highly skilled 3D artist specified on everything environment, 1 design and marketing lead. We currently have a starting budget of ~$10,000 and 10,000 MOONS ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) for the prototype.
We are looking for unity3D game developers, web-developer, artists of any kind (web, concept, 3D, 2D, pixel) and animators. You can also help by providing and polishing complex ideas or simply spreading the word. More specifically we are looking for games in development that already have a playable prototype or demo that we can integrate as one of the first showcases.
