Sooner or later many will understand that halving don't have much to do with price boost anymore, I have respect for zcash for what it is and how strong it has become since past years now but don't expect some huge pump because of halving, even the halving event of Bitcoin doesn't meet expectations

Will this halving means a boost to Zcash and attracts more investors?
I've witnessed quite a number of halvings for Bitcoin and various altcoins. Price rise during halving is possible, but usually only as a rather short term speculation. I've seen cases where the halving was "priced in" months before it actually happened. I've seen cases halving had effect on price only after months. I've seen cases halving had no effect at all (!). All in all I'd say that there's no proper rule. Speculation and the entire cash flow in altcoin markets tends to have bigger effect than the actual halving. But don't take my words for it. Do your own research and invest (or not) your money based on more data and your decisions. |

I do think that it will only increase the price in the short term, just like what NeuroticFish said. I remember that LTC had a halving last year, and it seems not to have increased price in the longer term. Of course, there was an increase in price with altcoins this year, but it went down when we experienced the pandemic. It's tough to say the possible increase/decrease of a coin, but we will notice once there would be a significant impact on the price for sure.

Halving will only affect the inflation that's caused by the miners and no more. it didn't give any guarantee to attract people to comeback for zcash again. zcash is not bitcoin that gives a better guarantee than zcash.
The anonymity tech that offered by zcash is already outdated.
noted that if people these days didn't actually need the anonymous tech.
We have monero and that's more than enough. Pivx, zcoin or various anonymous coins already died.

Back in 2018, I invested in a shitcoin ZCL which was a fork of ZCash at the price of $8 per coin. I believe I bought them using the now defunct and scam Cryptopia exchange and they fell from $8 to a mere $1 when the exchange was hacked  lost something around $250 in the scam but somehow got to know about these scams earlier. I wouldn't call the underlying tech behind Zcash as bad but it doesn't stand with the likes of XMR. Even though both are privacy centric coins, I prefer ring ct over zk-Snarks. Altcoin market always runs with hype and there are absolutely no real use cases except a few like Ethereum and Monero. Eitherway, apart from these 2 not many alts would last longer. |

The halving for altcoins is not the same for bitcoin. We usually hope for a boost every after the halving for bitcoin.
But if it's for Zcash or any other altcoin, we can't have the same expectation as bitcoin. Litecoin halved but with no effect.

If bitcoin still rise like what we see now, not just zcash that can increase, but many altcoins will increase. The altcoin will follow bitcoin to grow, and right now, bitcoin price still goes up, and we can hope that zcash will increase too. But the next bull run for the altcoin will not come soon because the altcoin bull run will come after bitcoin increase. That is what happens in the past, but it could be different now or in the future. I still hold my zcash and zcl, and I am waiting for zcash to increase back.

You can now use zk-SNARKs on Ethereum and with privacy tokens like 0xMR. Zcash is no longer needed.
I do agree with it even Zk starks that has promised by zcash is on the way but there's not a lot of improvements that happened with zkstarks. any update that will be happening in zcash will also be implemented in ethereum. Just use ethereum is more than enough to get the privacy feature that available on zcash but i didn't agree with 0xmr when you can use real monero to get the best privacy tech and why did you need to use 0xmr? |

He dont need to use. He need that you buy it and he takes your ETH  He created them with a click. Now shill them for you to buy. IT is same token as you can make your self on ETH. You can name it 0btc. First Halving means boost to Zcash?
Now after 4 years the 10% developers tax should end, but it will not. They decided that still deserve 10% from mining emission. Taxation is a theft! |

Not only Zcash, but Bitcoin Cash will also have updates in mid-November tomorrow,

Even bitcoin's halving doesn't do much with the price and I expect it's not gonna boost the price significantly for zcash. unless it's burning the coin to reduce circulating coin it could possibly increase the price by some level. The halving for altcoins is not the same for bitcoin. We usually hope for a boost every after the halving for bitcoin.
But if it's for Zcash or any other altcoin, we can't have the same expectation as bitcoin. Litecoin halved but with no effect.
We can earn from a short time investment. I believe the halving effect is helping to boost the price. I'm sorry, you didn't notice properly the halving effect of litecoin. Now the price is falling again but it was good for short term profits. If Zcash announcement is correct thank definitely Zcash price will pump for a short time. Yeah, might trigger flash pump but it's not gonna do much by the long run since this halving have been proposed since day 1 and everyone know that anyway. |

zcash halving will be different with bitcoin halving, but over all market will decided what will happen before and after halving. personally i am buying zcash and waiting price hit around $100. its truelly speculation but i have basic fundamental why i am doing it. and dont forget about market sentiment at this moment , its look very good for all cryptocurrency and maybe it will give positive impact to zcash too.

I hope that happens too, but it's not like seeing other cryptocurrencies do it. I've seen this happen with BTC, but the case of Zcash is different because Zcash vs Bitcoin everyone understands. But this news is also very interesting for Zcash, i think maybe next time the big increase will happen with the market growth.

Why do you think the halving of Zcash is different from Bitcoin halving or other crypto halvings? Halvings in block rewards often make people feel a coin becomes more scarce. It actually become harder for miners to mine coin and get same amount of mining rewards. After halving, they need double time to mine the same amount of coin. Zcash: its price is halved from its drops last week. Its monthly chart show double bottom but price can dive deeper. If you have plan to invest in ZEC for long time, it is good price or you can wait for next few days to get cheaper price. Halving is nothing to do with the current market to the altcoin that you re referring too. Halving is just means that investors are not interested to it and instead of investing for more they are withdrawing. I think there are only few loyal in the platform and wanting to invest more in the project to which it exceeds to the expecation of the community and that all surprise with the current market surging for the crypto. But this is the new trend to all altcoi n that whenever bitcoin market is good these altcoins too will do good in terms of their market.
