I think he is very afraid can not repay the money to his friend, so he chooses to end his life.
If he realizes that gambling is not the way to make money, he will not do that, especially borrows the money from his friend.
It is an important lesson to us that gambling is not just affecting adult people, but it could affect young people who can not control themselves in gambling.
I hope all people can take a lesson from this, and we know what we need to do if we are playing gambling.

Even if there are bold signs in the betting area, I don't think it will help for those addicted gamblers as they will bet no matter what. Okay better than have none. But this is too unfortunate, youngsters really have weak EQ, they thought it is the end of their world. And most of the time, they won't ask for help or guidance for the fear that they will be beaten by their family. So for them, better end their lives. I hope it will serve a lesson to his friends, colleagues or family.

This is really sad, especially at such a young age. I think we need to look out more for our young gamblers. Once you lose big time, it can be a downward spiral to make you lose even more. My first rule of gambling I have been using from the start is to never gamble with money I still need. We need to face the possibility to lose everything before we start gambling. So taking a loan from friends just to gamble with that money seems very risky to me. I would not want to lose a friendship because of gambling. And even if we do lose more money, it is never a reason to take out own life. We can always make back the money in the long run with honest and good work.

The one that is referred as "boy" in the OP was Raju Yadav, a 21 years old, at that age, I think he is already matured but not matured enough to control his emotion. The victim is still young, and I think most of the people who commit suicide because of gambling addiction are young people because they are not into bigger problems in life yet.

I have seen several cases of losing in gambling that ended his life in this Forum.
I think that what the Indian child did was koyol, with what he did lose gambling took a shortcut, already knew gambling, why should he force to bet.

So, my advice for others is not to be too pushy to bet, play the game as entertainment for you and never borrow / borrow from others just to place bets, play professionally.

I've read an article regarding on this, it's very sorry to hear but unfortunately we can't escape the truth. Betting in sports or perform any gambling could be addictive if it control your livelihood. Much gambling involvement seduce us doing such horrible things. ^ Because none of us here neither any gambler should condone such act. It is morally incorrect that because of losing in a gamble someone should end his life when there are lots of things you can do to recuperate from such a mistake and become a better person afterward. The Indian government should act in this case their law should be more strict or must be implemented all the time and these younger generations should have a better understanding of gamble in particular to the possible consequences when they got involved in this industry. Nevertheless, it is really pathetic knowing that another young kid has ended his life just because of gambling may he find peace now.

i really think it's important for every player to understand the risk of gambling i agree that it's one of the fastest way to get money but it is very risky they should assess theirselves if they could handle losses and if not better yet don't try it since something like this could happen.

People commit suicide for many reasons! Just this time we have a story about a guy who did it because gambling loss. I believe that many factors lead a person to the decision to take their own life, it's never just one thing! Yes he lost money, but if he could find support from family, love, friends, life he wouldn't take desperate measure! People commit suicide for many things, but what triggers them in the end is just a drop in the ocean, when a person become hopeless  and everywhere around is dark!
Well I think it's character, it's what you build every day, and if you are doing a right job you will know how to position yourself in relation to anything! Is it safe or dangerous, is it a vise or health... anything can kill/destroy you if you abuse it. But in the end we are all people, and we make/will make mistakes, some of them are/will be meaningless, some are/will be huge, it's life! You either learn and adapt and climb, or you don't and you go down!

As much these news saddens me as much I appreciate the government of India for banning betting overall because if gambling was legalized we might see even more such cases and really gambling can only bring problems overall, because people often say they are playing for fun but majority of them end up becoming a victim of problem gambling.

There are so many illegal ways of betting and I love bitcoins but honestly with bitcoins illegal betting has been reaching new levels as now people have got a currency that they can use and gamble and have no fear of getting caught as if they do with paypal they would get caught.
