Was just kind of curious if many of you also tend to get random calls or texts every time bitcoin goes on one of it's runs from family/friends/acquaintances asking you about bitcoin/how it works etc.  I'm also curious if you're getting more calls/texts this time around, or about the same as other rallies?

I found bitcoin back in 2013/14 so many of my friends and family members know this and I always get calls/texts during times like these.  Often conversations from people I've not spoken to in some time. This conversation I think can provide a unique insight on where things might be heading..

Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

Not yet, but I am sure they are coming, at least where I live bitcoin has not been on the the spotlight as much as it was on 2017 so I think that is the reason for the apparent lack of interest at the moment coming from my acquaintances, however once the media gives huge attention to bitcoin once again I am sure I am going to receive lots of calls, but I will admit I am nervous, during the last bull run several of my friends wanted to invest when we were basically at the top and I told them not to do it, most of them followed my advice except one which lost a lot of money as a result of this and then he blamed me for the whole thing, and when I pointed out that I did in fact warned him against it and I had several witnesses about it he just stopped talking to me, so for some time I have remained silent about my involvement on the market so this does not happen again.

It would be heading on where they do ask out on how to make money and basing off that youre an early fella who get involved with Bitcoin in years 2013/14 then its safe to presume that
your have lots of money at this moment. lol. and its just normal for your family, relatives and acquittances to get curious on things on where your involved on.
In my case, im not really that receiving calls or desperate kind of visits into my house just to talk about it but there are some times where i do see my relatives and seeing my
driving on a car which i had bought with my crypto profits which did really shook them up and asked out on what ive been doing and what are the things im connected.

Just a few messages on facebook from my friends, but from family members, yes, they will tell me that they have seen bitcoin in mainstream news and how the price is doing as of this time. I agree, this is the same as the last bull run in 2017, I got a lot of calls or text or messages in facebook or on my any other social media asking about bitcoin, so this is another sign that we are heading for another bull run. But it goods to tell others what bitcoin is and what it can do for them, financially.

after the last bull market and news of how rich those involved are brought unexpected attention, it was difficult to cope in the bear market for those that invested in some shit coin. It is more difficult for me to let people know my position in cryptocurrency and had reduce my presence on social media around cryptocurrency, It is the reason for my absence from social media campaign in bounties. I want everyone to take risk according hi capacity and blame no one if it fails.

what you say is of course possible because you have provided a lot of information to your colleagues or relatives, you will always be asked or inquire about bitcoin because right now about crypto it has become the talk of many people so it is appropriate to always ask about these developments. and I also appreciate that you have been working for a long time, of course a lot of experiences have been received.

but I myself have never really experienced what is being told because it is clear that information about crypto in my place is still very minimal and rarely do people know and ignore anything about it because there is still a large need for socialization. but among young people, especially students, it has started to get its own appreciation.

Recently it happened with one of my cousin. He volunteered to know about bitcoin while we're into discussion about education. He opened up about so many mechanical engineering related topics as he's pursuing his professional course on Mechanical Engineering. I was listening to it, and on random conversation he requested to know about bitcoin. I started to brief it in a simple way about its virtual presence and value fluctuation.

After few minutes I got disturbed, because he should believe or else he needs to know through different services available to know the legitimacy. I need to brief further, but his words weren't so comfy. Most of the time I prefer to give basic and request them to learn by themselves which is better.

Any time when there's a spike in bitcoin, i do get random calls, social medias like facebook/whatsapp but most especially whatsapp, cos i'd make use of my whatsapp status features to publish my updates about bitcoin.
Just about a few hours ago, a guy chatted me up requesting to know about bitcoin, like i always told them, i will give them some free e-books and still refer them to make use Google..
It very tiring explaining to them over and over again when they refuse to use Google

Yes I do. A friend of mine suddenly contacted me asking about bitcoin, he is curious and asking if he can learn and what he needs to do, such that. Actually it happens every time when the price of bitcoin is suddenly increasing. The trend made them being curious about what is going on in the cryptocurrency world.

None so far.
I stopped updating any of my profiles on social media informing my relatives that I'm into bitcoin after the all-time high. But in 2017, a lot were asking me as if I'm totally rich by that time but no, it's all because they see the price of bitcoin and thinking that they'll become rich as quickly as they can. Maybe after a day or two, somebody will send me an SMS or call asking how they can buy.

So brace yourself everyone, I'm pretty sure we will get all the attention from friends and families, in our social media nagging us about our beloved BTC. I haven't heard anything though, but there was a message in my Facebook account from a friend that was also in crypto trying to connect me and himself about another old friend specially all about crypto trading and investing. I never bother to answer it though, hehehe. And I'm sure we all know where this is heading so it's either you shutdown your social media presence, or answer your old acquaintances questions about crypto and bitcoin, it's your call.  Smiley

Such a coincidence to see this today as I received one of my neighbor's call in which she talked to me for an hour over phone, and she asked me about btc in between and I told her why didn't she invest when I asked her to. She engaged into a meaningful discussion with me about btc and all other aspects of it and talked around half an hour about crypto only. This price rise will surely bring more people in crypto because after PayPal's announcement, it seems btc is very happy with the type of mass adoption it is getting.

Only a few Facebook messages ask about bitcoin development and what the current price is. For calls and text messages from people closest to me are still not there, as I tend to be closed off with my work on this forum and about bitcoin. If I am honest about my work with my office friends or the closest people besides my family, there will be many questions that will be asked and of course it will force me to tell you how to get bitcoin and get money from it. It will certainly take up my time.

Nope, not really unless if I have a lots of bitcoins and was verified by relative or family or worst by the scammers that are trying to scam you as they tend to introduce theirselves as  the member of the family. Well, this scamming activity is happening not only related to bitcoin but also to other means of getting financial aspects like prepaid load or your money in the banks.

So, make if you are recieving text with anyone asking for bitcoin or money then verify first before giving it. Scamming is rampant in text and they always use the emergency situations to confuse you so that you will going to give their demands without hesitations that if you will going to believe on them.

Naturally, as a friend, they'll find you become busy and ask what you do. But I'd never expected calls or text from strangers, not sure if I am able to answer it and give some tips. That telling about Bitcoin to them is not sensible, it might give them an open-eye or it gives them interest as well which might encourage them to invest as well. But we should only give such information to the right person and for those who want to listen to us, not just like asking "How much you earn this now?"

That curiosity among friends and relatives gives you also the confidence that they are supporting you and that also they need some shares on how to do it and so they can be like you in the future.

Yes, sometimes a friend will try to send me a message asking about what bitcoin is. Some of my friends became curious and interested on bitcoin because they witnessed what bitcoin does to the lives of other cryptocurrency users example of this are some of our colleagues. I'm glad that they are also trying to embrace the knowledge of cryptocurrency. They want to know if the bitcoin is a good investment so that they would try to invest on itt.

Due to Bitcoin's recent bull run, its natural, everyone is getting their attention back here, we are already close to making a new ATH soon.
Even if your friends are not asking, you should give them the knowledge about bitcoin because its a one in lifetime opportunity and we shouldnt miss the evolution.

Yes I did.

One of my friends contacted me to tell me that he regrets selling and another one messaged me to ask if it's a good time to buy.

It was when Bitcoin broke 12 thousand and I told him that every moment is a good moment to buy and that I thought he got something when we were at sub 10 thousand. I haven't heard from him since, hope he bought some.

Right now, I haven't received any message from my social friend/family. I'm expecting someone will message me asking about bitcoin again if the bitcoin price will become news again on our local news. Like before, when our local news shows the bitcoin price, almost all the people know that I'm earning bitcoin message me about it, and they think it's an easy way to earn money.

This conversation I think can provide a unique insight on where things might be heading..
If people around you know you are bitcoin investor, then with bitcoin bull run and massive news on media, they will try to contact you for advise and more.

My experience and my advise are:
  • Give them basics and let them time to self-discover about bitcoin.
  • Emphasize that
    • They should afford loses before they can get profits
    • Prepare knowledge to avoid scams
    • Don't make loan to invest especially if they don't have any idea and plan for their investment
  • Don't accept Investment trust from people around you, you can get troubles.
  • Why?
    • Those guys don't have any idea about bitcoin and bitcoin market.
    • They only want profits: being greed and don't afford losses. They dump their pressure on you with questions, profits, etc. Manage own funds always easier and have more fun than manage funds of the others.
    • It's bad to accept all risk and pressure when they are always greed and lazy
