I think the 2020 is the year similar to 2017 and I expecting from 2021 similar dump as from 2018, I think the bull market already happening now, maybe the bullish trend will be continued in the 2021 too, we'll see. Some patterns are repeating each other, but not for the 100%, there is always difference.

It's not identical, there are a lot of differences between these two years, even if you look at the price comparison, bitcoin price in early November 2017 was ~$7,100 but in 2020 it's $15,700. Bitcoin rally in 2017 happened in September-December, but in 2020 the bull run starts from April and the price gradually increases and decreases through these 7 months. a relatively short pump for bitcoin and altcoins in 2017 and a more mature market in 2020, and it's just the beginning as bitcoin will reach a new ATH in 2021 imo.
But for altcoins, only a few that could follow bitcoin path to rise, just some major altcoins as we can see at the market right now.

What is happening right now and 2017 have some similarities.

1. In 2017, there is this ICO hype and right now we also have another hype in DeFi hype.
2. As these hypes happening, the price of Bitcoin is going higher and higher until it reaches a new ATH (possible).

In the end, just be vigilant and be ready for the best and at the same time the worst.

The similarities of ICO and Defi hype can be said also in 2018 and 2019 though. Remember STO hype in 2018 and IEO hype in 2019? Everyone thought those were the jackpots but they did not turn out as expected,,, and Defi is already losing the gleam for many people.

This is only Bitcoin vs the rest of the world in my view:)

The price growth this year is not as drastic as how it was last 2017. This year, bitcoin price had been growing little by little, of course with a little correction but the price had been growing steadily. 2017 the bitcoin price jumped high so fast that no one ever expected it to hit $20,000 ina short period of time. yes i agree. But i still think it is a little bit early. If i see ethereum stronger against bitcoin. And more expensive bitcoinwise, then we can talk about an upcoming altseason.

It is really a very huge events for the crypto-markets knowing that paypal is a very well-known platform/company that people are using and because of its acceptance of using cryptos many opportunities will definitely open to all the cryptocurrencies. At least, however, what you tell the community here and what (PayPal CEO Dan Schulman) does, at least give the community a sense of life here, especially me.

For Bitcoin ? Yes. But others crypto i think is not. I see Bitcoin price reach $15k and maybe Bitcoin will more Bullist.
But nothing bullish at ETH, LTC, and others crypto.

Yes, almost the same but not exactly the same because at the end of 2017 Bitcoin experienced a price increase of more than $ 15,000, and at that time most of the Altcoins also followed the bullrun trend of Bitcoin so many Altcoins were expensive at that time, and that of course a little different for now where Altcoins have not experienced much increase in terms of prices previously in the market.

The only thing that am seeing a lil bit similar to that of 2017 is btc but the rest of the alts are just lacking behind, the similarity is very thin, it can not be compared to 2017 in several reasons, when i saw the price surge of btc i thought the bull run is upon us and perhaps the rest of the alts will follow up but i don't think that will be the situation in this case, at least not for now, but am thinking year end will bring even more goodies alongside,
someone said in another thread that btc will likely dip down to 9k by 7th when the election result are finalized, am just curious if this will be the case.

Well,I hope so that next year will be a good and profitable year for everyone. Maybe, we need to prepare for that and take some btc and altcoins in our bag. After this year of pandemic, we need another hope to recover using cryptocurrency and maybe that will be next year. Well, let's wait and see!
