How would we know where its going? Sure there's a cme gap at $11k (I think) but we could moon before hitting that (or not).

If you think btc is bullish you may as well buy back just in case... If you think we can go higher then why take the risk of selling a large amount of your portfolio. You've also only taken a small hit if we go much higher but you're going to have to expect more bullish than bearish responses now too since we're close to an ath.

Common mistake and for sure you arent the only ones who did sell off too early yet no one did anticipate for price to cling up as high as 15k as of this moment.
I do even believe  that we might be seeing this number on next month but surprisingly it did really reach out in no time.Thing here is that you do sell off
when you are in greens and that what matter most.Dont feel on that having some regrets yet you can buyback anytime.Question if the price would dip down?
No one knows neither there would be some pullback or it would continue to go in 16k.So its a matter of risk management and this will vary
into each person because we do have our own will on what would be the actions that we would make next.

How can you sold when obviously we are making a good run, and specially that Biden is winning, we should expect that the price will continue to rise in the next coming months, and others are predicting around $15k-$16k at the end of the year. Another expensive lessons to learn, as for buying it back, it's really up to you, hard to give financial advises here. Best of luck to your decision again, I hope that you learn from your mistakes.

You're not alone my friend. I did even sold earlier than you when I was in need of cash.

But no need to regret and if you think that you need to buy at the prices now, make sure that you won't be regretting it if the prices go down. Just make every action you do firm and no regrets once it's done.

If it's not because of the pandemic, I still have those that I've sold but what's done is done.

Never sell most of your coins! You should have a long term stash and a trading stash. 90% of my coin is long term so I'm waiting for high five digits toward the end of this cycle, and don't have to worry about little moves up and down. I highly recommend this. Then I have a trading stash, I sold in the 13000s, throughout the 14000s, and a little in low 15000s today, and still have a tiny bit left to sell in the 16000s in case it goes that high on this run.

I fully expect it to drop back into the 11000s or maybe 12000s range on the next correction, so now I've got most of my buy orders set in the 11000s and 12000s. I'm not buying back in any now because it will obviously correct at some point, probably right when you think it's gonna keep going higher! But you gotta make your own decisions!

You see, that was your first mistake, you should have asked before selling also, not that you would hear at any point somebody telling you to sell.
The same is going to happen now, everybody is going to tell you bitcoin will continue to rise, get in as fast as you can.
In conclusion, if you don't know what your;e doing and you're asking strangers on a forum for advice obviously trading is not for you.

please say something will make me feel better dammitt

Unfortunately, since you sold you're a non-believer, an infidel so...no soup no good words for you!
But since I'm feeling great right now, you've made a profit, right? Cheer up then!

omg I am stupid and  I deserve to be smacked hard I be losing a lot if I buy it back now would you do it brother Sad((

You're losing possible profit, not losing your money.
If you bought at 9000$ and sold at 14k then bought at 16k and sell at 20k you're still making money, not as much as buying at 9k and selling all at 20k but you're making money not losing. Of and piece of advice for everyone trying to bring the whole in terms of BTC thing, money is money.
So, feeling better now?

Its very likely to repeat and recheck prices in this area I think but its moving rapidly and becomes hard to judge.    Its not wrong to sell along the path of a rise, just depends on the proportions you sell and a large all or nothing buy or sell is best avoided by most people who are not suited to be traders.
Frothy action like this is white waters not clearly seen through or predicted, its also likely to recede and consolidate the action.   Think of all the people asleep around the world and not involved in the pricing, that matters because a good price needs volume behind it and involvement to be really holding longer term.
A price on a graph can go anywhere at all in a sharp imprecise way but thats shorter term, BTC as we've seen before is surprisingly a longer term acting asset that requires weeks and months to really form a solid base; this is my experience of previous action and there's always the doubt 'this time its different'

It's ok if you sold for profits. No one can anticipate what's the exact thing that will happen next.

It's NOT A MISTAKE. What if the price went down? Then it's another story and others will say, it's a GOOD MOVE.

What to do now? Even price is now raging upwards, there are still chances that it might slow down and have a good rest at below $14,000 to $13,000 before making an uptrend again. Have an alarm set so that you won't miss that price level just in case.

You already sold so the best thing to do is to enjoy your profits and wait for the hype to calm down. If you sold because of an important matter, then why cry?

It's not a bad decision either as long as you sold obviously way higher than the price you bought. Regrets really happened. It's just become a bad decision since the price goes up more after.

Take this action of yours as a reference in your future strategy. It's really hard to decide if you have the purpose of getting money (fiat) right away.

So did you sell more then 50% of your coins?

If so now you know never sell 50% or more of your coins in an upwards market.

rule of 10 is sell 10%

so 10 coins sell 1

wait for 10% price drop to buy back

or wait for 10% price jump to sell 10%.

if it goes up in price you sell 10% of you nine remaining coins. or .9

dropping you to 8.1 coins.

since price jumped up 10% you get good money to make up for the fact coin sale was .9 coins.

I hope you have at least 40% of your coins left and if you did sell 60%.

I hope you sold at a profit.

Just focus on your remaining coins and go back to rule of 10

You already said it yourself buying back would put you at a loss. Don't feel too bad just because you miss out on possibly extra profits sure you could've hold it even longer but it's not like this would be the last time you'll make a profit.

There's nothing wrong with securing some profits and a lot of people probably did the same since it's been a while since Bitcoin was this high.

Well at least you didn't sell at $13.5K like most people last week. The way that a real bitcoin bull market works, is that there is rarely a large pullback. Basically the pullback will be the start of the bear market. Look at what happened when BTC broke $10K in Nov 2017. People wanted to buy the dip and basically bought it after the $20K top.

This is why you shouldn't sell everything at once, scale out if you have too. In general you shouldn't sell all your crypto. Imagine if you sold it at $1K back in 2017, thinking it would go back to $700 and it never did. Would you rebuy at $15K, most likely not. Hence always have some BTC in cold storage. No better investments these days really.

it is very hard to say, it is all in the momentum. right now we have a very strong one that is not showing any signs of slowing down. that means there is a good chance that we are going to continue to see the rise for a while longer but it is still not possible to say how long.

another thing to consider is that whenever resistances are broken like this (eg. the $15k resistance), they create an even bigger momentum and also attract a lot of panic buyers. people who sold their coins hoping to buy back or were simply waiting for unreasonably big drops to buy for the first time. they all start panic buying causing the momentum to become even bigger.

on top of all that, the rise has been healthy. it wasn't a jump from $10k to $15k without any stops. instead it was smaller rises with good corrections on the way. for example after reaching $13860 it had a good correction and fell down to $12890 before going up to $14100 and so on.

this current step to $15k is obviously bigger due to second thing i said above but it still doesn't have a correction. you could hope for the correction to take place then buy in that dip. but keep in mind that it could go to $16500 for example and then correct to $15500.

I wouldn't really tell you to buy back in and get in on this train big time. There definitely has to be a correction waiting around somewhere and at the current levels, it's anyone's guess at this point. Charts don't seem to paint that much of a clear picture on where are we going from here, though if you look at the order books it seems that there are still a ton of people wanting to buy at spot market prices and most of those are being eaten up. Tread carefully, but it's not just you who is eager to be a part of this market, and that could spell doom for most of the time, too.

no no no and noooo
I sold a lot of my coins at 14100 thinking it will go a bit down and I will buy it back with profit

well now the btc is 15200 am I out? should I buy it back at current rates? or are we excepting down movement anytime soon? Sad(
Well, gain is gain like they always say so what is the problem there?
The problem for the investors and all of the people in general is that they don't know how to get contented in certain things like you. You are posting things like this because you sold your Bitcoins at a price knowing that it will consolidate.

please say something will make me feel better dammitt
Just be contented with what you got. A gain is a gain don't be greedy. Its not only you who did the same. Probably there are some who sold their Bitcoins lower than the price you sold your Bitcoins with. Just move on and wait for a consolidation. I hope that this is a lesson for you and I hope you learned something.

A correction always comes, and the faster and higher we get, the more likely it is. I personally wouldn't buy Bitcoin right now and wait for a dip, even if it's not a big one. We went from $10k to now nearly $16k almost without any major corrections and in short time, the market is clearly in FOMO mode. I already started selling small amounts with a goal of buying back later, and I don't regret that the price is higher now. Bitcoin will always have good buy/sell opportunities as long as it remains volatile, so don't let the perfect be the enemy of good - as long as your trades bring profit, that's already great.

Lesson learned. It looks like you want to trade and make profits.
"I think, I think" words are really disappointing.

But don't be sad, cheer up! If you bought that Bitcoin below o the price you sold, you already got profits! Profit is profit! Unto the next trade again. There will be more lot of opportunities that you can buy back that Bitcoin you sold.
