Did you check the thread I linked about my fundraising project? No wonder why you got negative feedback from Lauda seems fair to me. Why would I send him tokens or even $ if he is doing all this for a charity task? Or feedback [we didn't have any proper deal- the purpose of feedback]?
If he is doing it for a charity cause then why do you have the urge to return the favor so much that you are giving merits on topic where you don't even understand the language?
If someone does me a favor and makes a design doesn't mean I will vouch everything he does even though I don't know his language and don't understand a word. So if tomorrow I make something for you then you would merit any thread made by me if even I am scamming or selling drugs, right? because you don't understand the language and I can trick you into doing that. Now imagine someone as foolish as that trying to become a merit source, period.
Lauda's feedback on me has nothing to do with this thread, if you are asked a question you should keep it on point.
You are giving merit, and let me clarify merit is seen as a credit for good content, to something that you don't understand. When someone questions you and I tried to be as polite as I could then you are trying to counter attack me instead of realizing how stupid you are.
Now let's come to your concern regarding why I did send merits to his original post and not to his post which he made in my fundraising thread. I believe sending merits to original posts matter more than quotes. Also, let's give theymos deciding power whom to make merit source and whom not to.
Sending merits to quotes/replies matter less than to a topic, I agree. But the sole reason for merit was to appreciate good posts not to return favors. I think you need proper education regarding merit spending.
Please can someone reputed in the forum confirm if we should send merits to a specific post or return the favor somewhere else for that post?
@Irfan you are considering merit as a loan which you feel you should send back when and where the person needs it more, which is the wrong way of looking at it.
Merit must be sent to the post you believe is helpful or is good content. You can't accumulate merits for good posts from someone and splash them when that person opens a topic.
