Is Tezos going to be next Ethereum?

Well, I wouldn't say it has the largest community behind it. Sure it has a decent following that shows support and they would rank very high, but I wouldn't even say it has more than ETH at this point, they would probably be at top 10 at the very best case.

I know this may not be something you want people to hang on to because it doesn't look like it is an important part of the discussion but the reality is that if it doesn't have more and bigger community behind it than ethereum, that means it also can't pass ethereum as well. ETH just collected 50k ethereum just for an upgrade, that is about 20+ million dollars, you think Tezos could raise 20+ million dollars this quickly? I doubt that would be the case. So yes Tezos will be bigger and better in the future, but doubt it would be bigger than ETH.

I doubt about that, based from what I know there are only few projects that are using tezos chain, I know one project that used tezos and it failed, maybe he's tezos is really a good thing in Europe, it is widely known in there but when we talk about the mass adoption or the most widely known coin, it should be ethereum rather than tezos, I mean the continuous innovation of ethereum blockchain makes it still at the number 2 place for almost a decade, especially now more and more defi created each day that uses eth blockchain, and here comes the eth 2.0. So tezos will not be able to be the next eth but the next after eth maybe it will go to 3rd place.

Ethereum is ethereum and tezos is tezos, both have their own tech. I didn't even think any platforms that were trying to create a new version of smartcontract should be labelled as the killer for the old platform that was developing the tech before it.
Tezos will never become the next ethereum. it will give more choices to the users to issue their assets.
I didn't see this as a competition between them all.

The right way to think about it. There's should be no comparison or whatever, if the project is really promising usages will be
followed by most supporters.

We already see how big ETH was it's been proven as the service that they've offered around really helps this industry, if Tezos
have it's own versions of success.

Allow all the traders and investors to labeled this project and not just because of the rumors,
without proven success it will stay as rumors and not a real basis for investment.

Well Ethereum have an Very big community Comparing to Tezos and it's become a base for various other Project with different purpose, Not sure if Tezos going to be the "Next" Or "Surpass" Ethereum but after looking Tezos Development for now maybe it can become Alternative for that, Even though it is not as significant as Ethereum but the "Rumor" that you mentioned earlier is indeed interesting, Forge as chosen by French Central Bank to do some CBDC experiment on Tezos network it's an Solid Proof for their development progress.

Governance, PoS and Smart Contract, Not bad i suppose. Let's wait and see what will happen next.

I think that whatever still feel difficult to achieve today is likely to be easily accomplished in the future. But since you said this is still a rumor, then I doubt it will happen. As a competitor to Ethereum I think that is possible, but unlike the next Ethereum because it will be very difficult to match Ethereum as one of the platforms that support dozens of ERC20 token to date. And yes, the reputation of a project will show if there is a large community and consumer behind it. Does Tezoz have it ?

I can't really say I know the problem with Tezos, it seems it will remain in the background until people get fed up with it, the team is sitting on Billion of USD and they can't incentivize developers to develop on the chain, if there is no real Dapps on the chain people will not know how good Tezos is, I just hope things will get better in coming year

No. There is no such thing as next Ethereum. There will be one and only Ethereum and the rest of the altcoins that wanted to be on Ethereum's track will be different and will just be following Ethereum. How many times have we heard of altcoins claiming to be the next Ethereum? I heard that from Binance (BNB), Cardano (ADA), etc. So far, Ethereum is still the one and only.  

Tezos has always been an incredible project. It should push forward not under the shadows of Ethereum but on its own light. It could very well compete as Tezos and not as the next Ethereum.

You got  a point here, even EOS was tag as the next Ethereum..TRON...etc. They could be a  great rival to Ethereum  and thats it. Ethereum has carves its name on its own and even innovate something that is different from bitcoin.Each new coin must have its own innovation and path not just like copying what is in ETH had done.

EOS has failed to unseat Ethereum from its top position although it was promising at the start. There were many projects built on the EOS blockchain. But they simply cannot compete closely with Ethereum.

TRON was a failure from the very beginning. The project is a copy-paste without any innovation. It was an imitation shitcoin.

For now Ethereum is beyond reach of any competitor.

It's only a self proclaimed that created by those projects. In fact, they have no possibility to replace ethereum. it says that those coins can't even surpass USDT's marketcap and that doesn't make sense to say that before it can surpass the mcap of coins that are still sitting below ethereum.
I know that tezos was a good coin but it's too early to say that. We know that the only potential competitor for ethereum was chainlink.
It looks like tezos is actually an overrated coin especially when we are seeing from so many problems faced by tezos.

I see not only Tezos but in this market ETH is facing many other competitors such as DOT, EOS, NEO, ADA, ... But to say replacing ETH's position is not easy. It can be easily seen that in the past time when the market has risen, many currencies have increased. But with ETH in the future promising a lot of upgrades, I very much hope that ETH 2.0 will help ethereum hold its ground and grow strongly in the future.

Tezos, Polkadot, Chainlink, if you don't have these altcoins in your portfolio then you don't know anything about promising altcoin projects, but ethereum? That's on another league entirely, I know ethereum deserves the four figure price tag today but aren't we underestimating this altcoin king? Ethereum can't be overthrown for many reasons, DYOR.

if Ethereum 2.0 is launched then the difference between Tezos and Ethereum will disappear even more,
because we know that Tezos pupuler becauce the staking program, and when Ethereum 2.0 is launched later,
the staking for Ethereum will probably become popular, and many people switch to it, yes XTZ could be a rival ,
but it's not just XTZ, there's Binance , Eos, Ont, Waves ,etc., .

Tezos is a good altcoin but still can't beat Ethereum, there are few better altcoins that will beat Tezos, try comparing Polkadot with tezos among others, not Ethereum, they aren't on same level, Ethereum is more stronger in support and adoption rate

for me i think Tezos is a proof-of-stake cryptocurrency (i.e., buying and holding coins rather than mining for them) that operates through a “self-amending blockchain.” so they can't compete with Ethereum they won't be able to beat ethereum.

Rumours will end up as rumours. And there will be never a coin shich can replace ethereum. It is not just about the technologies behind a project, the reputation is also an important issue. Ethereum is an well-known coins with advanced tech which is enough for the peopld to trust. It has existed roughly 7 years and during that time, many many projects had been planned and finished which made ether more and more famous

So my point is, dont expect any coin to replace ethereum. Just expect it to be itself, express itself and be adopted by other crypto lover. Tezos is an awesome project. I believe it will gain attention from various types of investors

 TEZOS is very good and will continue to grow, in the future it will probably be the main alternative choice compared to other Ethereum competitors. but it can't be the next Ethereum.
