Let's discuss: How big will the next correction be? And when will it occur?

Corrections and pullbacks happen all the time, we're just going to discuss how large and the surrounding circumstances to the lower price.   Alot of price drops are quite bullish, its just shaking off speculators and essentially offering the same prospects at a lower price.  Its not exactly easy to spot the quality of a trade in risk vs reward or I'd be a rich man but the process becomes more obvious when looking over time especially years.   Hindsight is 20/20 as they say.
   Right this second BTC is pulling back, I dont estimate it will go far beyond 15800 but all this is short term guessing in the hope various measures hold and we've passed some significance in price recently by making a new high for this year and last.   Momentum can often continue, true to the upside and downside, a recent estimate I saw for a good pullback on BTC would be 9400 but my first guess without looking too hard would be to mention the 200 day average and also the 50 day is commonly referenced, use those two for guidance is fair practice.   The timeframe for the pullback was estimated through new year into the spring, more of a scenario then a prediction as theres no sign yet.

if the next bull is like 2017 bull, be prepared for several face ripping 30-40% corrections. that is how 2017 rolled. it will be hard to see the difference between the usual 40% corrections and the beginning of the the next crash after new ATH.  oh the fun.  

I don't think most people care about 30-40% corrections as long as it eventually keeps hitting ATH after ATH.

Tell that to all the weak hands getting shaken out at the bottom of those corrections, who end up panic buying back way higher.

I will be wiling to accept a 'correction' back down to $10,000.  If the price starts to go back below that, I will begin to start getting worried like I did last time we saw that price.

I could see a wick below $10K. A 42% correction from $16.5K would be ~$9,500.....just enough to fill that CME gap from a couple months ago. It would not last long at all. I also don't think it's particularly likely, just the potential maximum downside. If I had to put a number on it, maybe a 10-20% chance.

It's a wild guess. 40-50% correction is quite possible or 70-80%, just like what happens last 2017 after the Bullrun ends.
Not knowing yet and anything will happen in the future, even tomorrow is a big surprise.

The current momentum is pretty impressive, Bitcoin price keeps moving high, and closely it reaches to $17k. How far that this hype will end? Nothing will know as well and just the same asking how big is the next correction? But for now, I'm not praying for the correction but I was asking that we are able to hit its peak again.

It's pretty hard to predict because I'm not a technical analyst.  In my experience Bitcoin will continue to rise until its price hits 2017's ATH, and then definitely a VERY STRONG correction.  It's time for the whales to manipulate easily as the crowd is in psychological panic. In my judgment, Bitcoin will not fall too deep because it has the support of some major financial funds in the US, in addition to the increasingly limited supply, the crowd will still accept to buy Bitcoin above 14k $ threshold.

I think this depends on how far we go up first, before being able to try and work out how far we could correct afterwards. From current top of $16.5K I think somewhere between $12-14K would be likely which would be a 15-25% correction. This would also re-test previous highs and resistance levels in order to turn them into support.

Otherwise I'd probably stick with the theory of 15-25% corrections within current bull market structure. I feel the bear market days of 30-40% dumps are much less likely now (even if still possible). If we get to $17.5K, then somewhere between $13-14K might make more sense, likewise if we reach $20K ATH level, then $15-17K would be my target.

Either way, btfd when possible imo.

It is difficult to predict the correction, which is recommended when hodl occurs, and it is barely correct to buy Bitcoin, because mostly it is to give a good bullish boost, right now there is a very good omen, we have the approach of December and it is good because they start shopping online and with Bitcoin. This greatly helps to have more demand in the market.

The correction will come, but you should not panic, it may reach $ 11k- $ 12k, the correction will not be very strong.

We already saw that the bitcoin price makes a correction deeper than before because the price is down at $15,700-$15,800.
I think it is the deep correction for now, but we don't know if the correction will come again this month or it could turn back to increase. But I guess the correction will always happen to the crypto market. And maybe $15,700-$15,800 is the deep correction for now.
This week, the price can touch more than $16k, and we should be happy to see that price.
After this correction, I am sure that the bitcoin price has more chance to increase, and who knows, the price can break $17k.
You will see many speculation releases about how deep the bitcoin price will go down, so you need to prepare for that time.

Small corrections happen all the time and that is part of Bitcoin volatility.
At the moment I don't expect some bigger sudden correction but  more smaller ones so the Bitcoin price will probably stay in current range somewhere between 15k and 16k.
Even if it goes all the way to 17 k I don't think it will stay there for longer period of time, it will probably returm to current values.

A market correction is a normal thing to happen to an investment asset in the market, but "the value of the possible correction that will occur in the future and exactly when it will occur is a mystery".  market correction (bearish) and bullish market are things that are difficult to answer accurately.  My advice is to take advantage of the opportunity to take profit from this bullish market and then prepare funds to welcome market corrections later (buy at low prices)..

40-50% correction is quite possible or 70-80%, just like what happens last 2017 after the Bullrun ends.

80% (or even more) is possible after the next bubble pop, but as far as short term bull market corrections go, no way. 40% is pretty close to the worst the next correction will get, unless there is a drastic divergence from the last two bull market cycles.

When the next bubble pop and 80-90% crash does come, I think it might be from $300K or $500K, landing well above the 2017 ATH.

^ Until now it is really hard to predict and even my wild prediction did not want to dump the price as a correction after a new ATH will cooldown.
If bitcoin price will repeat just like what happened in the year 2017, it will probably repeat the correction that happened after the bubble pop. This is expected that there is a correction right after the ATH. Nevertheless, this what I have observed, when there is hardly a correction in the market, the price is hard to back to normal because people panic about selling their bitcoin.

I won't expect a large deep of correction during this bull. This price is going higher more in this year, is a bull time you just expect little correction and big bull. The whales are in for the profit which will cause the drop and more entering for bull will keep happening for now.

Just like what it did. We've got a small correction from the peak of $16400 then back to $15700.
Those moves are always usual for bitcoin when we hit a new high. Not particular if we include the all-time high though. But it is a sure thing that it won't be staying long at those new prices above. It has to retrace and correct before moving up again.

You cant tell because everything could happen but this time the price is somewhat established due to lots of companies had already adopted bitcoin which we can

say that price wont easily go back down because support are even more stronger compared into those earlier days but we cant still be confident because we dont know
on how deep would be the next correction but to say that this had been part of a market where pumps and corrections do really happen.

Thing here is that we do know how to secure our profits and do know on how to place ourselves on buying back when its cheap.Rinse and repeat process will be a good move.

We can't really know when it will be and we can't really know how big it will be but the fact that we know it will happen tells all about bitcoin you need to know. There is no doubt in people's minds that we will drop, maybe we will drop higher than current price so it doesn't mean anything for today but it will drop no matter what.

Maybe we will go to $30k before we crash and we will crash to $20k so even people who bought today could profit, but it doesn't mean that we won't crash, it is still from $30k to $20k and maybe it will take a few years to go back over $30k again and just like we were in between $7-14k range for few years going above $10k and going under $10k like toy for a long period, we will do the same for $20k? But we KNOW it will have a crash one day.

Nobody knows the future but as much as we believe, bitcoin is here to stay but for the pricing, can't tell. @Bergluft, go long in bitcoin because if you will notice in the forum, many of us here are long term holders.
We still sell at good prices but we keep ourselves make sure that we have bigger part for long term.

We have past experiences as example of how deep bitcoin can fall during a hard dump. But this market is really unpredictable and bitcoin is always surprising everyone, so I can't say with sure if what we saw in 2018 will repeat in the next correction. I just hope it won't be so hard like that one.
To have a smooth correction the market must be more mature and confident in crypto currency in general, not only bitcoin. Solid projects, technology development can help to break the negative volatility a little bit during a correction.
