For me, correct spelling, correct grammar and right choices of a word is a must in building sentences in order to be understood easily. I can say that I am the kind of person who is very keen and strict in spelling and didn't even use any abbreviations nor the trend of millennials short-cut text types. Its just my way of writing to emphasize every word clearly. And as for Crypto world, I always made sure to type Bitcoin with capital B everytime, and might go with BITCOIN as well. I don't know if it is really necessary, but I just want to emphasize the word Bitcoin as a very important and valuable word as its really the largest cryptocurrency in the digital market. The importance of a word and this digital currency needs to be seen in my way of writing as part of my gratitude for the great financial help it gave me.

Finally, I found an answer regarding the differences in writing Bitcoin and bitcoin, actually I have been curious about this for a long time.
In my opinion, it is very important to pay attention to grammatical in writing, if the grammatical is wrong, fear has a different meaning.
So the message I wanted to convey was not delivered well, but I am also still learning about correct grammatical writing. It is not easy
to make grammatically correct writing, it takes a lot of practice to get used to it.

No I don't, but yeah this is correct.

Bitcoin: The title.
bitcoin: The unit.
BTC: ISO code.
₿: The symbol.

That's the least grammatically issues we have on this forum, though...  Tongue

It doesn't really matter so much as well as the post can give you the idea or thoughts about his post.

But this is a good wake up call so that we are enlightened and knowledgeable on how to use the word "Bitcoin" properly depending on the context.

Still, thank you for informing us so that we can use Bitcoin in a correct grammar and to give you to exact idea that we are trying to point out when we make a thread about it.

Not really, but I'm willing to learn about it because that will really help me to become a much effective user here in this forum.

Although, I don't care about how I used the word "bitcoin" before, right now, I'm confident about using it properly in my posts. This is a huge help and I really appreciated it on how you want us to become informed about its proper use depending on circumstances. This post really caught my attention and I will surely inform others regarding this.

I know how important to use Capital letters in every sentences we write( though sometimes it was not i do) but in Terminology as Bitcoin?

Not unless i will use it in the Beginning of the sentence then it must be capitalized.

But if not?i don't care if it will be Caps or not as long as it is understandable and clear to read.

In general you should capitalise the first letter of the organisation producing a product - for example a Hoover is a suction cleaner manufactured by the Hoover corporation. A hoover has become a generic word for any old suction cleaner. Currencies are not generally capitalised,

As I was completing a survey about an hour ago, there was some mention about the distinction between Bitcoin spelt with capital B, and bitcoin with a lowercase b. Although I have heard about this before, and I usually pay a lot of attention to spelling and punctuation, I have to admit that I have totally forgotten about this.

When we talk about Bitcoin as a blockchain, payment method, or a service, we are supposed to spell the word with an uppercase B.

Here is an example:
My best friend doesn't see the advantages of Bitcoin.

When we talk about the currency or mention numbers and quantitates of the asset, the word should be spelt with a lowercase b.

Here is an example:
I sent my best friend 1 bitcoin as a birthday gift.

Do you pay attention to this while you are posting on the forum?
In my opinion, this is only the difference between lowercase and uppercase letters but the meaning and purpose remains the same, maybe this can be said only to correct correct and good writing, because with us writing starting from capital letters may look better for everyone. , but if we write starting with lowercase, it may not look good, but it all depends on how the person judges it. This is no problem for me personally.

That's a nice thing. I was not aware of the matter. I actually use capital “B” all the time, sometimes I may accidently use the small "b". I will definitely take care of this from next time. Another thing is that we use BTC instead of Bitcoin, this is not correct. the short form of Bitcoin is XBT. You know, BitMEX, Kraken are still used “XBT“ in their exchanges.

Woah, I didn't pay attention to this before and always wrote with a small letter.
Most of the time when we mention the term b/Bitcoin, we usually refer to the coin or currency and not the actual network or the blockchain that powers the asset. Therefore, writing it with a lowercase 'b' is correct most of the time. When you go through some of your posts where bitcoin is mentioned, you will see for yourself that you are talking about quantities and units, and not particular features of the Bitcoin infrastructure.

Your explanation of difference in meaning have sense. I really didn’t pay attention on this at all till now and always used variant with capital "B" that is "Bitcoin" in meaning "the currency". If to look through article about BTC on Coinmarketcap (https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/bitcoin/) you will find out  that they also use variant with a capital "B" in meaning "the currency" as a synonym to BTC, or better to say as a proper name of this cryptocurrency as well as all other crypto: Ethereum, Tether, Dogecoins, etc.

Im with this and i dont know on if its really needed to have this kind of comparison between Capital and a small letter when tending to write or tell about bitcoin/Bitcoin.
It wont matter on how you do arrange things up because some might be elaborating Bitcoin as a currency but still make use of bitcoin directly instead.
All matters with the writing style imho.

I'm quite sure that with whatever style of saying Bitcoin is, it's automatic that we're only pointing out Bitcoin itself, but formalization is a must, in my opinion, in order to construct a better sentence, Bitcoin or BTC is the correct way when you're going to mention Bitcoin on your sentences, and btw, I am not trying to convince anyone, just saying that based on my own observation, it has been a norm around here in the community and amongst the topics and replies that I have read during my time here in the forum.

I'm trying to get your point you are pointing out that bitcoin as a noun is spelt differently from Bitcoin as a verb. If we were to adopt this then it should be in the opposite direction looking into your example:

Quote
When we talk about Bitcoin as a blockchain, payment method, or a service, we are supposed to spell the word with an uppercase B.

My best friend doesn't see the advantages of Bitcoin.
This is rather an action carried out on the digital currency it Should be with the lower case character instead

Quote
When we talk about the currency or mention numbers and quantitates of the asset, the word should be spelt with a lowercase b.

Here is an example:
I sent my best friend 1 bitcoin as a birthday gift.
I was thinking since the currency is a noun it should rather have the upper case this is my thoughts

No I am not. Where did I say that? I never mentioned nouns or verbs in any of the posts in this thread. It doesn't matter whether it's Bitcoin or bitcoin, they are both nouns. If you had read the OP and the other posts (at least some of them), you would understand that the point I am making is that the noun with a lowercase "b" is used when you talk about the currency and the quantity of that currency. When you talk about the blockchain, the network, or the technology, you use the uppercase "B". That's the theory at least.

Doesnt really matter if "B" or "b" would be used and it would really be varying on the sentence which i do completely agree  with Pmalek comment above;

Everything is really just the same on general perspective.Does it really matter or would needed up some discussions about capitalization?

That's how it should be done, for me Bitcoin and bitcoin is just a matter of position of the word and if you think about it, why not just directly use the word blockchain to describe blockchain? It won't be convoluted and at the same time is going to make people much more curious.

Anyone who knows bitcoin will know: Blockchain technology is the basic technology of bitcoin, and bitcoin is the first application of blockchain. Everyone knows that Bitcoin stands for Bitcoin, Bitcoin stands for blockchain technology,
Because everyone usually talks about bitcoin and doesn't often talk about Bitcoin blockchain technology, I prefer to use Bitcoin for daily communication. I think most people don’t pay much attention to this formalization, and it’s good to understand it yourself. I use a lot of symbols: BTC
