Infura outage halted exchange erc20 and ethereum withdrawl, so if you are unable to withdraw erc20 or ethereum it's because  of this issue, the main cause is the old ethereum node Geth

So what exactly is infura?

Infura - infura helps developers to have space for development imagine downloading 109GB for blockchain instead infura handles those so that
                    developers can focus in their projects, also it communicates to the blockchain, and returns it to you and interpret it

This has been worked on by Blocknet who's made their own Infura alternative.
Blocknet can very well be integrated into metamask to allow it's users to use a decentralized option, which will be faster to process as well in terms of data.
