Few of the those that got super hyped (like bitconnect but there are thousands of examples) during 2017 ICO boost period got destroyed because they were just scams or at the very best case they were failures that never really got better. However there is also a couple of ones that got created during that period and became huge as well.
Remember at the start of 2017 ETH was just 9 dollars, today it is nearly 450 dollars and it peaked over 1500 dollars for ATH, it wasn't created during that period but it got famous, there are at least 10-20 coins that was created during that period that got famous and eventually stayed high enough to still matter to this day. So, you can either focus on the bad thousands or you can focus on good tens of them, your choice.
