I just hope that the Philippines would adopt the same because most of the transactions here in the country are P2P for buying products and services online. Only a handful of physical stores are accepting Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies here in the Philippines for now (mostly in National Capital Region area). Unfortunately for me, I've already renewed mine last year which is good for 10 years.

This is good and I’m happy about it. But why do you all keep saying things like ‘the pandemic is what has pushed people to start making use of Bitcoin’, like there are no other safe payment methods that are even more that they can use? Don’t forget that there are payment methods like Square Inc. that a lot of companies are making use of to accept payments with their business online.

When they accept Bitcoin they are not doing it because of the pandemic, it simply because they are starting to understand Bitcoin, what this advancement is all about. When you started making use of Bitcoin nothing forced you, you did it on your own, and that’s the same thing with them.

This is a good move. I think every country should follow this. I also think the cashless society where we have to pay in card or Bitcoin or something like this. In my country, govt is very restricted in using Bitcoin. So I am  not getting it from my country for sure. The company Peninsula Visa, which provides passport and visa services, announced to buy a U.S. passport for Bitcoin.

However, thanks to @Ratimov, for showing that this company, which provides passport services, can pay in Bitcoin.

Related to the current pandemic, so we are a little limited from visiting outside the country, especially the US, Maybe after everything is safe the pandemic is gone and all citizens are free to visit every country, maybe, this company can come in handy.

Paying with bitcoin for passport is a good step forward. Bitcoin as a payment for name change, renewal and few other services might get followed by more other countries. Now these service providers will accept bitcoin through a third party and then pay the government in terms of fiat. Somehow this is good for bitcoin spreading.

This is definitely a good step for Bitcoin adoption. I remember that in 2018 I met all sorts of announcements of the purchase of citizenship of various banana republics, which are difficult to find on the map, and now 2 years have passed and now a US passport can be bought for bitcoins.

It sounds good that bitcoin is being accepted for issuing a passport but I think a lot of people wouldn't opt for it.
Issuing a passport comes under the government and I believe everything that comes under the government officials should be done using the fiat currency.

In our country, we're able to use Bitcoin to pay lots of things like our bills and tuition fees. We're even using it for online shopping. It's good to know other countries are now accepting passport payments through Bitcoin. I just wish that I could renew mine through it soon. Bitcoin is really making things more convenient for us. I mean we are basically already see some of tons project that have an "E-Commerce" Concept, Debit Card or something that connected with Traditional Financial but never Expect we can even Pay Passport using our crypto asset. Addition of services is certainly very beneficial during a pandemic in order to reduce the use of paper money which is possible, including carrying transmission, but not necessarily with bitcoin because now every country has issued a lot of digital money, of course it is more practical to use in its own country. if traveling to other countries, of course bitcoin is very helpful.

Well it's good that they adopt bitcoin in their payment method as well. I think it's not the pandemic that makes them use of bitcoin as an additional payment method to them, I think it is because of the bull run though this is only my speculation. They can adopt the bitcoin payment method in the early months of the pandemic. In the early stage of the pandemic. After they accepted bitcoin as a payment method for flight fares since it's not available now, I think that's the time that they will have an increased volume of people that will pay bitcoin.
