I was looking for an app that helps you practice trading, something that could replay historical candles and allow to trade on them at a point in time, kind of like a trading simulator.

We all know there is paper trading, but it has slow feedback loop - make a trade, wait for hours/days.

I wanted something that combines all the things that I'm looking for:
  • Quick start in seconds - no download, install, registration, etc.
  • Easy to use UI/UX.
  • Minimal bias - accomplished by picking random asset/time and hiding them.
  • Make trades and fast forward time for a super quick feedback/learning loop.

So I created it - TradingGYM. It's an early version, but I wanted to get the MVP out ASAP and see if this is useful to other traders as well.

The Mobile version has a more lightweight UI, but in Desktop you can change some settings like candle size and commission.

Any suggestions are very much welcome. Super interested to see if this helps anyone improve their performance.

Is this simply trading on historic and not live charts? I guess it could require no internet to trade , or no?

  • Minimal bias - accomplished by picking random asset/time and hiding them.
What exactly will be hidden, coin chart history?
Will probably check it out later and bookmark. I have couple of trading simulators bookmarked to compare in the future.

The main point is to practice trading - making trades and fast forwarding time to see how your trades played out.
Training pattern recognition skills x100 faster than paper trading, because you can fast forward time.

You are trading historical charts. When you open the app, it selects and shows you random asset (coin) and time, and it hides that information - all you see is chart.
So your bias is reduced - you really don't know what will happen next.

Nice website , it can help many newbie that want to try trading. How ever other exchange already have demo account  that users can practice and try their trading skills.

Is it possible to make it crypto currency  than random asset and  test it with live market it's a big help if newbie do  practice in live market than do it random  from save graph .

What criteria do you use for the APP? Do you apply only AT? What indicators do you use to determine that you open a trade and close it? I imagine you do it for very short time intervals, scalping style.

The initiative is very good, I imagine that you connect the indicators directly from the APP to TradingView. It would be excellent if you could place the volume, so that the analysis of the people is not merely chartist, so you open the possibility of being able to study the volume later.

Don't this also look like a demo account find with most cryptocurrencies exchnage? the truth here is, this will be best for newborn traders around the industry, becasue they need more learning tools for them to accustom themselves with the system to avoid blunder errors. Although something new and attractive is on your website and would recommend newborn to equally use the platform to learn new stuff in this regard.

I think it doesn't hurt to try. anyways you said this is the first version, so if there is an error or flaw, it is something that is perfectly normal. In learning whatever points are needed and it is a new knowledge, for those who are beginners it becomes new knowledge, and for those who already understand it becomes input for you. because innovating is important in every aspect.
^ the first version is very reasonable with errors or bugs. I hope this application gets a positive response from novice traders to hone their trading skills. @OP great work and improve the quality of this application again.

Nothing beats out when you do make an actual trade even on small amounts on a live market not just trying to practice yourself up on to those price that you will
repeatedly practice until you do make some grasp of it and to know that theres no such pattern needed for you to follow.

Im not against with this one though yet you can really practice things up but I do much prefer live ones and will give out that challenging emotion.

Its a matter of choice though because if you do want to play safe then I would rather prefer demo trades with live prices is much preferable.

I just checked out the mobile version of the app. The setup was pretty straightforward and in no time, I was able to place long/shorts and fast forward the chart by 1 candle or 10.  While the app is cool, it still lacks some features which I think are crucial.

1. The app is based off historic charts and not live markets. One thing I've left in my time at trading is that the market is continously evolving and its very important to know what the market is doing now. It would be a more appealing tool if users can make those simulated trades based off of live charts - say 5min - 1hr to keep the feedback loop as short as possible.

2. No way to make do with technical analysis on the charts. I'm talking about the lack of TA tools including drawing tools, indicators etc. It would be a big plus to get access to these tools so users can backtest their trading setups, then fast forward the chart to see how well their strategies played out.

Either way, Its a good app which I'm sure beginners would find interesting to play/practice with. Just needs a few touches here and there to perfect it.

Nothing beats out when you do make an actual trade even on small amounts on a live market not just trying to practice yourself up on to those price that you will
repeatedly practice until you do make some grasp of it and to know that theres no such pattern needed for you to follow.

That's a true fact but it largely depends on the individual. Most beginners would be better off starting paper trading or demo trading their way before gaining some experience to try a live account as the game is different there. You no longer get to imagine wins and losses but experience them yourself.

It looks more like an arcade game to be honest - it might be good for trader's entertainment and maybe some basic practice.

I believe TradingView offers its users a tool called "Bar Replay" that let's you backtest your strategy using historical charts (if you have enough discipline).

I suggest traders to start with backtesting their strategies, then paper trade for a while(usually a few months to one-two years), than move on to live trading with a insignificant amount which they scale as they get good results.

This is true, Practicing on a live one with a little bit of risk can make a new trader learn the fundamentals that are needed and earn unreplaceable experience, But this app is pretty good especially for those who don't really want to spend the amount on their practice and just want to learn how to analyze charts.

It will pretty good if the app offer tutorials and guides for an aspiring trader that wants to learn to trade. Btw the UI is pretty clean and there are the necessary data a trader needs.

Patterns need to be followed as far trade is in discuss. Trade patterns repeat itself and that is why you can also follow it. Waves come in different patterns as they flow with price, therefore if you study it very well you see it being repeating from time and the candles are also good to study.

So your bias is reduced - you really don't know what will happen next.
Isn't it even better if people can use a live price chart from CMC or TradingView? That way anyone can literally try to trade using their skills and not relying on historical performance. I think it would serve better as an alternative for demo trading platform.

i think that here the difference between live and training, that was pointed out, is related to emotions that are connected to live trading, and usually there is no emotions when you do your training trade
if you miss live trade, you can close it before your stop-loss due to emotional stress that you are losing and miss the turnout, while in testing mode, you will certainly wait for stop-loss, and vice versa, if you are winning, you can close it earlier and miss the whole take-profit margin

it is just much easier to trade when it is training mode, with no money involved

Backtesting what traders should focus if they are still in learning phase, backtesting is studying the past chart movements in order for us to familiarize and understand when to entry and when to sell. This charting app is good but for me is still lack of something and there are some glitches. Bar replay of tradingview and also bar replay of amibroker is really good and actually there are a lot of traders are availing that kind of features because backtesting is really important in order to become one of the profitable traders. I suggest to you to have some mini thesis by doing bar replay where you will collect a lot of specimen and try to understand it very well one by one.

Website looks good and all, but to be honest I doubt it will get much attention since there are many exchanges that offer demo trading now, a few years ago the situation was different and there was almost nothing like these so that people can learn trading before risking their money and during that time apps like this could get quite popular, I realize that you are probably putting real effort into this app but as long as there are big exchanges doing the same thing better with more features while it's free you will have a really hard time attracting many users into your app.

The name itself is really cool, the "gym" there is showing how you could "train" there and that is really cool. This is not the first place that did this and certainly won't be the last place that does this as well, so you are going to have a lot of competition. However this looks like as good as any out there, I could go on as further as saying this is the best we have seen yet, don't know what the future entails but this is a good place to start.

I have always supported training and doing practice runs before you start real trading, this way you would know what to look at and how to do trading before you actually put your own money into it. However do this for a long period, don't just do few trades and see profit and go to real trading, stay here for a while and learn for at least 6 months.

This is cool . Congratulations for your work and for your idea . What technologies did you use to build this app? Also I were the developer I would improve the app by adding some APIs that work in real time with bitcoin's price.

Thanks, volume will be added soon.
