YouTube is a platform for watching videos, movies etc. On YouTube lot of people publish great contents with great hd quality so as to be at the top.

Note: the more the quality of the video the more data you burn.

how do I minimize my data on YouTube

very easy!

Firstly you go to your phone settings


Secondly click on network settings then go to data usage
Thirdly click data usage and go to apps data usage.

Then you see all the apps on the your phone select the app you wanna view the data usage
Then you go to YouTube click on it there then you'll see a page showing you foreground data and background data.. please turn off the background data.
There you have it.... It's all very easy...

There is also another way to keep watching youtube video and consume less data.

Click on the settings and click on quality



Make sure quality is selected as 144p



You can apply same settings in your mobile phone too.

I rarely or almost not watch a Youtube video with that quality even I want to save data.

Close all other apps that consumes data while you are using Youtube on your phone.

That's the other option that I can think of.

Wow Nice tip mate have no idea about that setting lol,But yeah that would lessen the use of data since there will be no background.

But i seldom use data because i am using unlimited internet connection so there is no need to adjust the data consumption.

Thank you for your advice. I mostly watch videos on YouTube at home. So, I usually use WiFi instead of mobile data. But I will try that and see how much it is going to effect the data usage. I like to watch videos on high quality so I hope it could help me watch videos more relievedly when I'm not using WiFi.

AFAIK, YouTube premium is only going to process videos in the background and normal version is not going to buffer when you are doing other task so it is not going to affect the data usage and save as you wish. Minimum quality on Youtbe can be 144p which can be used if you are having slow and less data but you can't see anything in this resolution.

in my opinion on the mobile you can watch youtube through chrome and not through the youtube app, chrome has a data reduction mode, or watch videos through the youtube vanced app which blocks advertising and obviously consumes less data

it is Big thing specially to us Data users every drops of Data is important because sometimes i run out of data in unexpected time in which there is no available store to purchase load.

No, there won't be any changes in the data consumption from streaming and downloading so it all depend on which quality you choose while streaming or downloading.

I have been struggling with this problem from a long time, and your tip is working, but I just changed my provider and there is no more problems.
For 4 years every month I got my MB gone. Now I have been paying the same amount of money but for 4times bigger data plan that the other.
