This is the title of the email i have just received now .
The full email is too long. Came from this address :

In this email there is an invitation to fill a google doc form where asking for eth address and email + a link to update your atomic wallet to what they called latest version wallet for airdrop :

Without checking further, it's a warning not to trust anything related to your wallet when asking you to update your app + your personal email.

It's likely the former in this case however, as I've not come across any information about a data leak. Surely they bought it or got it from a compromised database. I am sure that hundreds (if not thousands) did received this email although the email was sent to my address directly and not sent in bulk with many other email reciepents .

Many are not familiar with the email and of course scamer always changes what they have planned, if there is a name airdrop with "claim" then obviously this is often associated with the phishing site they created. The most important thing is that we are aware of it and can distinguish with the real one.

I also received a similar airdrop message in one of my old email addresses I used to participate in ICO whitelisting and sales. So I guess someone leaked the email addresses to the scammers.

One is then directed to visit the scam website which contains a wallet that I think is either malware or a phishing wallet. Either way there intention is to scam someone

The people who will receive it fresh won't have an idea that it is a scam and a trap. No problem for us if there will be some other random emails that shall come to us, we won't be even entertaining it because we're aware of what it contains.

Thanks for posting this, if you are going to look at the domain information, this is very new site, not even a day, lol, but scammers are very quick to take advantage and send the email in hope that someone will fall for the scheme (I hope none will get trap by it).

It seems that scammers create scam sites every day, wallet wallets are probably the easiest scam targets to convince victims to provide private keys or anything else to access the wallets. It is an important experience not to access the wallet from the address link in the e-mail message.

I used to get mails in my inbox using atomic and other wallets like coinbase too saying I need to update my email passwords, I don't bother with such messages because I can still log into this apps successfully, why would someone want me to update that? If you carefully look at the senders details you will see they are from scammers

If i am not wrong, atomic wallet and other non-custodial clients don't ask you your email or personal  info to install/use it. Unfortunetly, most newbies don't know about this and may easly fall into one of those scammy mails.
About the updates, it won't ever sent to you, as a user, by mails/sms. Always search about them from official ressources .

About the updates, it won't ever sent to you, as a user, by mails/sms. Always search about them from official ressources .

Specifically for atomic wallet. It's supposed to be non-custodial in nature but I think where the problem comes from was the Airdrop program the launched sometime back about their AWC tokens. They were asking for participants to register using email addresses as way of verification and trying to abusers of the airdrop. So scammers took advantage of the design of the airdrop program just like you saw with Blockchain wallet and stellar airdrop.

Anyway, a beginner must know how to validate the authenticity of the email and it is easy to guess with random email messages just like the email generator, and always check the official social to get clearer information if they don't hold the event then we must avoid it. .
Sometimes beginners don't think long about how to validate it, it's what makes them trapped and loses everything.

I always received too many fake airdrops everyday on my email like this AWC just some tips for newbie not to fall from this fake airdrops its easy really to check just ask to official social media accounts twitter, telegram and ask about ongoing airdrop it only takes 10 seconds to ask this question.

I also get this kind of email almost everyday. So I know what the purpose of these emails is so I stay away from such emails. I am for the sake of research, the app attached to this fake website after reviewing it, I saw that it is dangerous. I shared the information here, to warn them if it is useful.
