For those who do not quite understand by the title of the topic what will be discussed here, I will explain  Smiley

There are a lot of people here who have been familiar with bitcoin for 5 or more years, and among them there are those who at the beginning of this journey had a fairly large number of coins at their disposal. For example, at the very beginning, as far as I remember, I had something about 90 bitcoins. But i sold them all during last years, to my great regret  Sad

In this regard, I had the following question - are there any ways to make money on the fact that you still have access to the private keys of wallets, which used to contain a lot of bitcoins ?

I still have access to the addresses from which I sent 80-90 bitcoins in one transaction, but now, naturally, these addresses are empty.

Is it possible now, or maybe in the future, to somehow make money for those who still has access to these wallet addresses Huh

Maybe someone has some crazy idea how one could monetize all this?  Cheesy

I have seen posts on this forum on occasion from people looking to buy the private keys to old addresses which used to contain large (by today's standards) amounts of bitcoin. The only reasons I can imagine that someone would want to buy such a private key would either be to lend credibility to a lie that they have been involved in bitcoin for longer than they really have, probably so they can attempt to scam someone ("I've been involved in bitcoin for years and handled hundreds of BTC, look at this signed message as proof!"), or so they can claim that those old transactions represent bitcoin that they have sold, probably for tax evasion purposes or perhaps if there are debt collectors after them.

Exactly.
Nothing good will come from this.
Do not sell your old addresses private keys. Specially if you sold them in an exchange and somehow those addresses can be tracked back to you.

You may sell to someone who is trying to laundry money or something like that, due to some illegal activity. If they  buy your address and some authority track that address back to you, you may have problems.

You just broke some scammers dream by describing the secret of buying private keys. Sometime its really interesting to see their activity how they apply all their tricks to make some easy money. Hence, they can use it for right purpose but they never do that.

Its better to forget past which will give nothing but pain. You are not the one who miss their golden days but now seeing the potentiality of bitcointalk as a living suspect.
