Why congratulations on something that hasn't happened yet? It doesn't seem as smart to me as the obsession with $20 000 as if it's some magic number we have to reach. This is a game where we are just spectators, it will be the way the big players decide.

As this run is not driven by retail investors I think there won't be as brutal of a shakeout. As long as demand from big investors remain big, the small fish that get scared will hardly dent the buying pressure.

Some corrections will be inevitable, but currently the inflow of cash is just so big that it may not be as panicky as we have seen in the past.

As far as I noticed among the forum members, many still believe that we are in a situation identical to the end of 2017 - but as you say this time the money comes from some completely different sources, and the average Joe is mostly just an observer who does not dare to invest for reasons because he has no surplus money, because he lost his job, or is one of those who lost a loved one due to a pandemic.

Also, the whales have lost a good portion of their maneuvering space due to the large amount of fresh money entering the market and targeting all available BTC available on the market. I also read today that Chinese miners have big problems with selling their BTC through OTC, which means that out of the already small amount of new minted coins (900 per day) very few fresh coins enter the market.

It's too early to tell but definitely the kind of news, worthy of seeing and reading, because of the long wait we want to see something like this where the price of the new all-time high is within reach, people have waited for this for three years, in fact, many of us here are not yet holders of Bitcoin when the Bitcoin hits it's all-time high back 2017.

I just hope it's a different scenario, very much different from what we've had when the time it surpasses the old all-time high it will continue to set more records and milestone.

They have to play smart in order to gain the best, highest profits as much as possible, if they are buying it for the long-term when the time comes, bitcoin price may crash up to 50%. Bitcoin has been entering a new bull-run mode, very likely to hit a new all-time high, probably $30k or $50k in mid-2021. Nevertheless, a good point to hold bitcoin as long as possible, give the time for institutional investors to invest huge money into bitcoin and be ready to cash out before the main correction occurs.

Finally, we see $18k again after waiting for a long time. It's been exciting to watch the price go up and down this day.
And although the price reaches the lower price, it bounces again after that.
The price now will break the next highest price, and I guess that we already see the new ATH for temporary.
We will see the next ATH, and maybe that price will go up to $19k, although we don't know when it will happen.
If the price can touch $20k, I am sure that we can sell it together, making us make a profit again at that price.
People who still hold bitcoin from a long time ago will be happy to see $20k, so they will be happy to sell at that price.
We now have a big chance to recover our losses this year, especially if the price can increase more than $20k.

I think what we see now is season transactions. Cash conversion and investment is driving the market and this is majorly of retail sales. The correction is getting closer with bitcoin now at 17,456. I guess at the 18,000 may be the strong pull back of correction.

Many people think now heading into 2021 is the second ATH time after what happened in 2017. It is likely that investors in the past,
because they are experienced, those who still hold bitcoin to this day to make a profit in this second ATH. It’s no exception for newcomer investors.

Its a rare case that someone do make out some post that they do able to held up for this long.Have you bought Bitcoin when it peaked in 2017?

If you do able to hold until now then its not really an easy journey because no one can really be sure if we would able to hit back again possibly that price of 20k.

We are just 2k+ more needing for that rooftop to be hit up.Patience does really pays off in some circumstances.

totally agree with you, bullish this time is more mature than 2017 ago...
the inflow of money seemed very strong from last 2017, I still remember very much that year the price shift from $ 15k to $ 20k was very fast. This time bulls are different and more measured, for sure we'll see $ 20k in the near future.

I've told you to sell at any price of your will because that's what you want and that's what I actually did. Let's wait altogether until bitcoin finally goes back to $19k-$20k but for now, we have to see it dropping to refuel before it skyrockets.

Remember that this is 2020, so something like this might be the final jinx of the year and cause it to go in the opposite direction There isn't any rhyme or rhythm to the current price increase - unless you think it is driven by the recent change by Paypal or possibly large investors buying more of it up. It's actually peculiar for it to be spiking right now, as the economy is getting better around the world (after the vaccine announcements) so maybe it becoming a replacement for physical gold instead - that's dropping in price right now. Either way, I hope I'm wrong and everyone gets to watch the $20k peak for a second time!

The same as you, I took profits and it's a normal thing to do to take advantage of the price pumps. We don't forget to hold, there's a secured portion for long term holding but don't also ignore to have some profits that you deserve as you wait for a better price.

I wish that you have bought when it came down around $17,500. You've got another batch of profits if you have done that but what's important is that bitcoin looks stronger this time and this is a natural sequential increase.

Nice advance party mate,But good enough to boost our morale as long time holder and being denied of this price for long time now as i have bought my coins at 9k last year and completely waited like you never spend a Dime for this season.
either coming this month,or next or even in the middle of next year still i can keep holding because o believe that the time is very nearly to come.
and also waiting to sell so i can Buy altcoin as surely they are the next to run and i wanted to double profit for that almost 2 years of waiting.

I am sure that many of us are already making a profit from bitcoin at $18k. It is a big surprise to us because the bitcoin price can finally touch that price again. The price that we are waiting for almost 3 years ago, and now we are back to make a big profit. Although the bitcoin price now is down at $17,800, I am sure that the price will soon break the barrier of $18k, and the price will jump to the high price. We already saw the correction yesterday, and I think this day and the next day can be a good time for bitcoin to break $18k. But we need to be careful of another correction that can happen at the weekend because the price will usually adjust to the lower price and then it will increase again.

And the ones who have been holding for years, most likely won't sell at $20K because they want to see if BTC will do another one of those moves where it breaks previous ATH and goes parabolic to like $50K+ or so.

Bitcoin is trying to break $ 18k, can't hold it, Bitcoin will definitely hit $ 20k or more (possibly before this year runs out).  demand for Bitcoin continues to increase as good news continues to emerge, one of which is Paypal which includes Bitcoin into their business, and also news that the 2nd richest person in Mexico owns 10% of liquidity assets in Bitcoin..

Looks like seeing your thread the market is thinking of taking a break . It is good to HODL for a very long time as i am still waiting for next year so that we might reach the full potential with the rally but i do not mind booking my profit if there is a minor correction and i wont be surprised if we see a small correction after the price of bitcoin rising to around 15% in the last two weeks and we need to have a small break before moving higher once again.

Let's hold our horses for a second. I know we are not going to suddenly crash and it looks like we are going to hit $20k very easily, but that doesn't mean we need to act like we are already there, we still have some business to finish. We are about 10% away from $20k and that is something very easy for us to do but remember, just like how 10% increase is easy for bitcoin, it is also as easy to drop 10% as well, we could wake up to $16k tomorrow and I wouldn't be shocked neither.

So, we just need to keep our focus on $20k and need to keep grinding away until we are there. After we reach $20k we could start celebrating the new all time high and hopefully this time around we will keep going further and further instead of dropping like crazy because last time really did hurt us for 3 years.

this point is where the decision of selling or continue hodling gets harder because the price is way too high . not all reach this far but i feel that they already sold thier btc before especially when the time that btc starts moving forward beyond 10k usd .
