1. Birthday
12 years ago on January. Great Satoshi, anonymous founder of bitcoin published the whitepaper of bitcoin. A P2P system that's allows you to do decentralized payment without involving any third person.


2. First trade
On 18th May 2010, the worst trade just happened by a forum member named Laszlo. For the first time, he used bitcoin for buying stuff. He paid 10,000 bitcoins for 2 pizzas from papa johns restaurant. This amount of bitcoin is more than 158,000,000 USD!


3. Rise and fall of Silk Road
Later on 2010-2011, Bitcoin was getting more and more popular. Having half anonymous transactions made bitcoin famous between criminals. In this moment of time, Silk Road was created for drug and gun trading on dark-web. Silk Road was using bitcoin as payment system. Two years later, founder of Silk Road, Ross William Ulbricht was arrested and sentenced to life imprisonment.


4. Fall of Mt.Gox
On 2014, everything was going well. Until 744K bitcoins was lost on Mt.Gox the most important bitcoin intermediary and about 550 bitcoins was never returned to the cycle again.


5. Launching it to the moon!
Back in 2017, the year was started with uptrend. In this year, the other crypto currencies also became famous and many ICOs (some fake) happened. During the ending of Autumn, Bitcoin reached 20,000 USD and this price level never touched after that year. But, the price could stay stable and was fallen down to 6,000 and later 3,200 USD.


6. The hedge against COVID-19
The last winter was much colder than normal, economically. During the last winter, after the breakout of corona virus it fallen again to 3,700. But, The price recovered strong and very fast. This made bitcoin strong hedge against economic crisis. Now 12 years passed and after these 12 years, bitcoin is getting near to pass the historical record on 2017.

Bitcoin is very strong and is the most valuable digital asset and an investment choice in times of pandemics like this. This pandemic period has also become history for bitcoin because bitcoin was able to survive, while economic crises occurred everywhere in the world. Bitcoin will print a lot of history in the future. Until now Bitcoin has been able to prove that Bitcoin is not only a digital asset that is made only for speculation, but bitcoin is able to provide benefits as well as a protection against any economic crisis.

Protection against any economic crisis? Not sure with that.
The only thing I'm certain of is that Bitcoin helped its investors more this year, but not because of the pandemic but rather it is just in its nature of volatility wherein there will be periods wherein its market price will either go up or down. Economic crisis speaks for a problem being faced by the economy of a country and given that Bitcoin or this technology in general perhaps is not being regulated, it does not help the economy in general, only those who invested in it.
Going back, Bitcoin have gone through many things throughout the years of its "existence"; have faced issues, doubts from its users in particular with its recovery and more. We can say that its development is obvious from its popularity and adaptation which keeps growing as years are passing by. It reached market prices which were not expected before, and that is indeed right, history might again be made for this year.

The story on the great Bitcoin pizza, where couple of bitcoins where used to buy pizza, I would be dripping sweat like ice if I where the one that did that, it was just an exciting event when I read it, don't think it would be as exciting for the purchaser,
