$318k is way too much, it is definitely something technically possible because this is bitcoin and technically speaking it could be 1 cent each or 1 billion each but that is only "technically" possible.

When you think a bit more rationally you realize that bitcoin is not going to be $318k by the end of 2021, that is why too soon and way too high for something like that to happen. I do agree that we may break over ATH price and I agree that we could be at a level double what the previous ATH was (it was $20k, so $40k) but I do not believe that $318k is on the table for now.

For that to happen we need to see institutional investment to suddenly 10x increase and billions of dollars need to go into bitcoin all at once to make the market that big for us.

Although it's possible, but it's a really unrealistic prediction IMO. We know everything would happen anytime with Bitcoin, but that kind of production would lead to a lot of loss by creating a FOMO. The same prediction we have seen in the last bull run in 2017. As a result, many new investors like me lose their portfolios. Because based on some unrealistic predictions, we thought Bitcoin price will raise more and had waited for that. But eventually, we regret it. My personal belief that Bitcoin wouldn't trade $318,000 by end of 2021. Just be realistic and follow the trend.

Agree and these talks start happening once there is a small bull run and once a small down trend happens these same guys will then ask, can bitcoin hold itself at 5k? I have read many such articles when price around March was dipping and articles were like can bitcoin stop the bleeding or can it hold around 5k. So people are gonna talk based on how market moves and making speculations is not a bad thing either, but like bitcoins we as a community are highly volatile too as we change opinions faster than a Chameleons changes colors.

The market of bitcoin has moved high from a valueless token to an ath value above $20000. Now the price is close around $18000. What we're talking about is bitcoin $318000. Bitcoin has got the potential, and the growth it has experienced over the years assure the same. To reach 0 - $20000+ it has taken around seven years of time, and to $318000 in an years time is really a hard pick in my opinion.

Specially since the growth from $0-2000 was aided by adoption and now that the market is almost saturated, by saturated I mean almost everyone knows about bitcoins so for now to gain that kind of a growth we might need something extraordinary.

I think it is too far for us to predict Bitcoin at a price of $ 350k by the end of 2021.  $ 100k is still very reasonable. Although the Citibank executive's predictions are not as wild as McAfee's predictions this should be appreciated..

Why not? If by the first months of 2021 it shows massive pump to $100k then it is easier to reach that high.

Although, it is too early to jump up off to $300k by the end of 2021 but the thing is, bitcoin may have a good potential to increase it's price to unexpected level. Let me be honest too, Citibank is trying to make some FOMO. It's how crypto industry reacts on this prediction.

It's over thinking with the price of bitcoin.It's  suffered to reach of 20,000$ again.The huge massive pump occur in the bitcoin and next will be dump for sure.But the thing is we don't know the extract time ,so hold till the minor dump occur .When you feel the dump started again,kindly sell at good rate and don't feel later.

I would trust a citibank executive and his crypto price predictions let alone legacy investment instruments lol.  Looking a year ahead in crypto right now is almost impossible.  Take it in month segments, i can say bitcoin will be $500k in 5 years but i mean valuable is that prediction its a guess at best.

It's very surprising that he made a particular price at a particular time to make a prediction, whatever tool he is using I don't think any tool can accurately predict the exact price of Bitcoin at a specific date, although he concedes, that his prediction might seems improbable, his prediction is just two years to go and even if Bitcoin pump big time from time to time I don't think $318,000 by End of 2021 is attainable, but only the future can tell.

^ That prediction is too far for me. Probably it will happen but not next year, 2021. We did not reach yet the $100k and if the new ATH will break into a new resistance during the year-end, probably there is a chance. We are getting there for sure but that is too early for bitcoin to show a massive increase. Nevertheless, there are too many predictions on bitcoin that I had read, they had different numbers had to choose from, and happy to see that they all have a very optimistic prediction for next year's bitcoin price.

A more reasonable projection I saw was from here till 2025 for the next bullish phase in BTC long term cycles.   I dont think its the next year unless the quantitative easing process and fiscal deficits mean dollar value trades substantially below where it is now.   For the moment Dollar is just within a range not especially in a trend downwards, in 2017 one of the key features was a year long prolonged sell off.   It has to be noted 2017 was also following a new president so if the same concurrence occured in weakness of various measures counter acting in BTC pricing then its more possible.  20 to 50k is bullish enough of a target for the next year and would surprise to the upside for almost any speculator.

I will certainly have a panic attack if the price of BTCitcoin touches hundred thousand next year and the reason is quite obvious it is impossible to see those valuation in a short period of time unless you accept that the price of BTCitcoin is a bubble and it will burst every rally and you need to wait another 4 years to see the bubble again and i do not want to see that but we might reach those valuation in the next 10 years.

It really showing a huge amount of numbers in terms of the price of Bitcoin, if you will check the chart in still ranging to $100,000 - $500-000. Which for somebody it's kinda impossible for Bitcoin. Sometimes I also think it's impossible but Bitcoin is really proving everything is possible.

Yes, it's over speculated only a man coming from the future can accurately predict the kind of stat you are giving, you can do an estimate but giving exact details and the time I don't think it's realistic, well McAfee predicted $1 million in just a short period time and many people are still following and imitating his stat, the only way the price will go to that level is after the next halving, not before the next one.

I am not going to lie, citibank executive probably knows more about finance than me . That is not something I need to try to make it look like I know what I am talking about because let's face it if you are an executive at citibank you are definitely someone who studied and have the experience to give these type of predictions much better than me.

However I still do not agree with them, I mean sure bitcoin has a potential to be at that level but honestly as long as huge banks and investment companies go into bitcoin at 10x rate of this year (which was the best year probably) we are not going to see that much money just from small investors like me, we need tens of billions of dollars go into the market from those huge whales in order to see this type of increase.

Indeed, Bitcoin is proving everything is possible. Though that figure sounds exaggerated, but let's take it to consideration that 2021 is still a long way to go and anything can happen. Most of the time, a very bullish speculations we're being made to create a market hype and encourage non Bitcoin believer to engage into investing with crypto.
At least this speculators may have a good impact and influence in the market sentiments that brings us closer to that figure.

No one would believe already on McAfee when it comes to its own predictions and even to those 6 digiters type of  predictions isnt really that likely to happen.

They are just exaggerating too much into the price speculations basing off on what they are currently seeing into the market.

$300k+ price in 1 year time isnt possible or gonna happen.We can rise up but not really as high with those speculations.Even if we do go in full adoption
we wont gonna reach that level.

So the best thing for now is to wait up and be patient because price cant just increase overnight.

I know that nothing is impossible in this coin yet it is very unpredictable, however, do you think it is possible for Bitcoin to grow that big within just a single amount of time? Yeah maybe we can set a new ATH right now but I don't think it will grow that big in just 12 months. Besides just like you have said Bitcoin halving only occurs every 4 years and it is more likely Bitcoin only makes a huge movement after the halving so I don't think will touch that amount in just as a small amount of time maybe it will take a decade or more. Unless if there something unexpectable happens.

Since around 2013/14 ish we've had traditional finance types applying their 'magic' to Bitcoin predictions. I'm rather certain not a single one ever got anywhere near reality. I have little doubt that this will be an exception.

I think we are likely to have our wigs blown off over the next year or so. To that extent seems rather fruity to me. I guess stranger things have happened but I won't hold my breath.

When bitcoin trying to reach its previous all time high I guess the prediction is quite reasonable. Moreover, its price was decreasing a lot from its all time high $3500, it is a very sharp drop in prices when compared to other investment avenues. But who knows, that its price can recover and just need three years until now.

Other than that, bitcoin has a decentralized system where there is no one who can be able to manage it, just the user itself who will make bitcoin price up and down. Then good luck for this,i trust Bitcoin will reach another ATH this year and the next but 318,000$?sorry this is huge to expect and i don't wanna fail in expectation.

talking about truth is far to be answered mate,because everything is speculative and nothing will be certain until it comes.
