Xem to xym air drop opt in participation question any help appreciated

Ive purchased a small bag of xem with intentions of opting in to a xem to xym fork 1= 1+1  as xem forks
The issue im have is nem platform sends you to the symbol platform to opt in your xem nem coin account private key to link to the symbol network and opt in and sign the contract to authorize the account to receive the tokens when released on december 17th 2020. I have 2 seperate nem wallets but using my wallet address it states invalid address. Can anyone help me understand the difference from a wallet  address and an account address. And or does anyone have any knowledge or success claiming you xym for the ico. Forgive my lack of knowledge and por crypto understand. Motivated to learn
