Earlier today, I came accross this post from Myfe:
Is it possible to create a PGP Signature from any wallet address?
I appreciate the Kleopatra tutorial, but I don't use Kloepatra and I shouldn't have to use a new wallet simply to sign my wallet address...right?
Thanks.
The username sounded familiar, so after some scrolling, I remembered that he had been a representative for Freebitco.in. It surprised me a bit that a former representative from a crypto company mixed such concepts, but that's no crime and definately no proof, but I decided to do some digging just in case, and boy did I find something:
First of all, this 2 accounts are connected:
MyfeHabBearWhere did I find the connection? In these 2 different addresses:
1GJL2m5h7oMakRsdaQT3QQ4XzyFnKQwbCQ
3GemtDLiuUDGKXqPxckP1gZrsroCHTZdMs
1GJL2m5h7oMakRsdaQT3QQ4XzyFnKQwbCQ This address was used to make signature campaign applications by both users; last time it was used by each profile:
Myfe January 18, 2020
HabBear January 17, 2020
3GemtDLiuUDGKXqPxckP1gZrsroCHTZdMsThis one was a little dirty slippery bitch; it was ONLY used by Myfe to make an application to the chipmixer campaign
here. But the address had 0.5
BTC, and hadn't been used before in the forum (not something odd, but let's check just in case...).
Blockchair showed that that address had only received funds from the address used by.... Chipmixer! And his application had been rejected; so checking the spreadsheet, I found that from rounds 39 to 99, Hubbear used that same address.
The application post from Myfe was made while Hubbear was enrolled (and using that same address, lol). Darkstar_ would most likely have noticed that, but this is already an attempt to cheat the campaign.
Post quality hasn't declined, but Hubbear does have a fluent/correct english, so it'd most certainly be something doable.
What I think happenedI believe that Myfe left the forum some years ago, and after being abandoned, it was hacked. User Hubbear bought that account in an attempt to cheat in the chipmixer campaign, because the first post after the inactivity was that application. Both users did also wake up in January, 2020; both to join signature campaigns. It could also be that both accounts are hacked and bought, but since only one of them had its password reset; I don't think that's the case
