In the past I've noticed, that some users here have problems with "embedding" GIF's in their posts.
So I thought, I would show a "foolproof" method here.
For all who have problems with it.
This is not wild at all if you have problems, because under circumstances it's might be really "tricky".
So the result will be something like this:

Why can't I post images?
Because you need to be a Junior Member to do that.
To become a Junior Member you will have to have posted in three activity periods and have at least 28 activity.
However, you can bypass these restriction by buying a Copper Membership for a small fee here.

My method that I present here, is to embed all GIF's from the Giphy.com website.
On the website you can access a huge collection of available GIF's via the search box.
Which you can include ALL of them on Bitcointalk.org in your own contribution.
And that in only 5 small steps, 100% guaranteed!

The 1. step is to choose a GIF that you want to embed in you post.
Let us assume you have chosen this one:

2. On the picture above, you will surely see the "Red Cursor" pointing to "Media".
Please click on "Media" and the following overview will open:

3. Please copy the link, on which the red cursor points, i.e. at "Small"!
The most IMPORTANT thing, is that you ALWAYS only copy the link that you find under "Media" ᗌ "Small"!
But you are not quite finished yet.
If you would PASTE the link NOW ONLY here, it's would look like this:

https://media.giphy.com/media/Cdkk6wFFqisTe/giphy.gif4. To make it work, you only have to put the link, you just copied, into the following characters:

Then it should look like this:

5. If you post this link from the second "Code Box" here, it's should look like this:

And thereby you have already posted your (maybe even first) desired GIF! Awesome!

I know that there are many other methods. However, I find this one very simple.
Even for people who are new to the stuff.
Nevertheless I would be really glad, if other methods are added here in the thread.
I would then also set up corresponding "Jumplinks".Giphy.com

To be honest, I really did not know that it was possible to post a gif in the forum until I stumbled upon this post. I will be definitely using and adding these gifs to my post to make it more dramatic and entertaining.

I really appreciate your work and I would like to express my gratitude by applying what I learned from this tutorial. This would be my first gif here in the forum also!

It's also worth noting that the GIF image size  should not be more than 2.5MBs, any image above the limit will show the bitcointalk image proxy error.

1.5 does really suck, 2.5 would be perfect

Eitherway man the proxy thing is annoying... 

Perhaps giphy.com is a much better site when creating GIF images, Imgur instead automatically generates links of mp4 extensions which do not work in the forum

I was not aware of this feature, but I hope it is not misused because a lot of gifs seem annoying and are not suitable for discussions.
What is the smallest file size for the image, and does anyone know if there are other restrictions other than the size? The same restrictions apply to images with PNG extension.

I don't think the administration would want users to have to make changes to their browser configuration to not be annoyed by random gifs in threads.

I like GIF animation, and I think that here on a rather serious forum, they can liven up the communication a little. It is very convenient, as they say: "instead of a thousand words" show all emotions once.
Today, such animations are more convenient than watching a large video, they are fast and soundless, and moreover, this format compresses the image well without losing quality, which is very important for small pictures.
But of course, the measure is needed in everything, if there are a lot of such images, then every second flickering will be decently annoying.

About the bump I would like to add  
I think that the usefulness of a gif in this forum or at least on boards where a certain level of penetration is required with the idea of an ON-TOPIC gif has great strength, but sometimes certain gifs in certain conversations are too unwise.

I think that should be more the focus on giving weight to the post in its content.

Anyway, as far as you can, stay away from shitgifs in inappropriate places ... and watch out, I like shitgif / memes but they have their time and place.

I think the discussion would be to create a gallery of the forum in gifs or images that are available under the explanation of the OP to use, I think we all know today where the gifs are.

But useful gifs that can help us add value to our post require an additional plus that is not complex in reality to make them, in fact there are many websites that do it without resorting to any software, but getting the idea in that gifs is very staff depending on the case.
