It's not your fault and I think you made a good decision, because I don't trust any of their explanations.
It is good that we have great scam busters here in forum to detect anything suspicious.
Maybe they will now try to run campaign with someone else, but people should not join.

I join in your congratulations. Assuming everything is as @bamboodefi says and that all the blame is on him. He immediately needs to leave this project and to pay them the damage he caused by his unprofessional work. If nothing significant happens, it is another confirmation that their goal was just to raise money.

The explanation wasn't convincing at all and its a great decision you took, at least its not your fault, and its not an easy task to be researching on a project before running their signature campaign because you have other ones too at hand.

You did something great to maintain your good reputation, and also, take this incidence as a lesson and another experience had so far, in fact all CM will learn from this, in avoiding such mistake in the future. Move on mate.

You have done the right, made the right decision not everyone is perfect or can even perfected looking at the project and easily tell if the project is legit or not, this is the reason why everyone's help is important in tracing and finding out if the project is legit.

I have supported the flag, the developer has a weak alibi he should have known that we are not supporting fake team and hiring of shills, for the project to move.

That was the best choice. You couldn't risk your reputation and moreover, you need to make sure that users don't get to advertise shady projects. Don't think too much about what you have done wrong, we all make mistakes, take this as a learning opportunity.

Unfortunately you are already labeled as a scam, saying sorry is not going to change investor's opinion and perception about your project, any investor who will continue to support your project will be a laughing stock, a good project is transparent and they are not going to do manipulation even unintentionally, flag and tagged, what else can you do, better stop your project or more DT will tag you.
