[SECURITY] CLONE Trust wallet on Google play store

I was going through this thread on how trustworthy Trust wallet is since they are created and managed from binance lab. I have been using the App since 2018 and I haven't experienced any difficulty or bridge of security.
So, I decided to check on others reviews and their satisfaction, behold I saw another clone trust wallet on Google play store. They have the same features but different name. It's name TRAST WALLET

I ignored the app and checked on the main Trust wallet reviews and i confirmed everyone was satisfied with Trust wallet service. I went back to checked on other clone wallet, the reviews were warnings not to download the app.


Apparently, 2days ago, a user reported to have lost $20k to scammer after using a fraudulent mobile application claiming to be the Uniswap exchange. Out of curiosity, I checked this Trast wallet on play store, the reviews were deleted.



When downloading an App, check out the number of downloads and reviews from Google play store, use the link recommended from official website before download to avoid security bridge and lost of funds.

Google services are very insecure and very often fake and phishing sites pass through their security filters and they take so long to take it down that users are exposed to scams. You can contribute to get the app removed quicker by dropping a report - https://support.google.com/legal/troubleshooter/1114905

Rather than getting sensitive apps from Google play, you are safer following the official website. It usually contains a link to download the app. If the software allows one to verify PGP signatures it's advisable you do so.

In this effort the scamer always makes what they want including cloning the Trust Wallet application as closely as possible but here I am sure someone who keeps an eye on this is to stay alert for this fake application and it is clear that if we take a wrong step it will be fatal.

On the other hand, Google's security is indeed very lax and it is true that you also said it took a long time with this report to remove from the PlayStore so I think this is a heinous act where scammers who continue to act are trying to cheat in any way.

I want to share some advice regarding the image that says 'no reviews yet', even if the wallet have good reviews it still can't be trusted because it takes nothing but google accounts to add good reviews to a app on google playstore, good reviews aren't nothing, the scammer might be lazy if not he would have add good reviews himself

This is a good catch too there is a lot of untrusted and phishing application recently reported is there any reason? or because of the market price of the bitcoin increase so the developer's think they can victim a lot of people who is just a newbie into the cryptocurrency investment?. Well its too hard to know but still its better to make action to prevent they caught a lot of victims and to prevent blame the accusations to the original wallet.

This is the reason why some of the people would like to use iOS because the main feature of their application store is to make sure it's secured and to verify if this is a legit or a clone application.

Never search for crypto wallets directly from Google Play Store. Always follow the direct link to the download page from the official website. Trust Wallet is a product from Binance. If unsure how and where to download it, visit the official Binance site > https://www.binance.com/en. At the bottom of the page you will see a link to Trust Wallet > https://trustwallet.com/. The main page displays download links for all platforms.

Positive reviews, high scores, and good comments mean nothing as they can be faked. There are people providing fake review services.

With all the number of users, Google did not think of a serious way to combat these behaviors, they did not even prepare short educational videos warning users or post a warning when the number of times the application was downloaded is few.


You must be careful when downloading and make sure that you have downloaded the correct version while verifying the signature as much as possible and avoid manually searching for the names because it may give wrong applications regardless of the number of downloads or reviews

yes i am also viewed these app looking is same orginal app logo and name so many people are confusing witch app or real and so many people are downloaded This fake app it's not correct i think Google Play Store take action thiys type of thing i think best idea is Blue Tik it's good like Twitter

Searching for any crypto wallet on Google is very dangerous. Especially now Google has a lot of fake crypto wallet apps and ads. So this is having a bad effect on the new crypto users. In these apps, scammers use different accounts and give a lot of positive reviews so that everyone thinks it is the original app. I have seen some people fall victim to such scams and lose their money. It was their fault they trusted Google and installed such apps. Never trust Google when searching for crypto wallets.

It's obvious that this crypto wallet is fake, the name is a read flag, trust wallet isn't Trast wallet, and also this app have too low downloads, trust wallet have been around since 2017 and there are millions of download so far, playstore don't hide information about how many times the app have been downloaded, I guess most newbies are just too stupid

The rate at which phishing apps and websites are getting passed google verification is really disturbing. How can one explain such situation, a situation where a popular wallet such as Trust wallet will be cloned and even successfully uploaded to the public store for users to download and use. Quite serious and calls for serious vigilance from users.

I've read the scam application report again and to be honest I was disappointed with the way Playstore filters, such as giving scammers the opportunity to hack wallets from cloned applications. We expect good security and manual checks as a verification step to make it safe to use.
