Anyone used to or still are in the army? I want to know which brand for tactical gears are better, 5.11 or Blackhawk! ?

Even if you are not in the army, and you are into tactical gears, which brand do you prefer?

I like the 5.11s. Sorry, I haven't tried the Blackhawks, so I'm not really able to answer you as you specified. I think the dyes in the 5.11s are excessively susceptible to the acids from sweat, and the stuff they put in the fabric to keep wrinkles and soil away when you wash them inside out doesn't work especially well, and can cause allergic reactions, but I still think their feature set is excellent, and I still like them. I just took a pair off when I changed into some shorts a few hours ago. I like the double rear, and the double knee with the pocket in it, and I sometimes put my star on the copper ring on the right side even though I normally prefer it somewhere on my left

I just received the 5.11 catalogue yesterday, it does have a lot of selection. But Blackhawk! was founded by an US Navy Seal who vowed that he will create tactical gears which will never fail.

I bought some Kevlar 5.11 HRT pants a few years back. Super comfortable and it has neoprene knee pads Smiley

Does the color stay the same after washing? I just got my Blackhawk pants, I might get a 5.11 next time.  Smiley

I am changing my wardrobe's clothing. I think I will only buy tactical gears from now on. They have more features, durable, lots of pockets.

I mean a tactical t-shirt cost around $30, and they have better material then say Nike or Adidas.  Smiley
