I use TransferWise to transfer funds to exchanges. they don't allow trading bitcoin so my account got deactivated and money withheld. I was told will be a refund but haven't received it yet.

Consider yourself lucky if they send your funds within 2 weeks. It can easily take a month, without the fact in the current period they may be with reduced staff.

Patience is all that you need, posting on the web isn't going to make the process faster.
At least you're sure you will receive your money

currently, my transactions are just limited to cryptocurrency alone. I don't care what their integrity is or what they have to offer. I have been a victim of loasd of scams and it has further advised me on how to exercise patience and how to avoid certain transactions and strike a balance as preferences are better.

You need to be patient, maybe with little time more your transaction will go through. But this is the reason you need to use platforms that you already know how it works before trying something new for yourself, be patient and wait.

You're not trading bitcoin? You're just sending funds to an exchange that trades bitcoin. On your end, you're sending money to any other bank out as you normally would. I'm surprised how they found out you're sending money to a crypto trading exchange. I mean you could transfer money from your real bank account and I think they wouldn't bother checking.

This is why its really important on most of the time on reading up terms and conditions before proceeding any cryptocurrency transactions even though we are
on a situation where almost is everything allowing  crypto tx's but there are still institutions or services that do prohibit such activity which would really
result into locked up or funds been on hold which you wont really have any options but to wait up.Good thing that they do talk about on such refund
and not on total confiscation due to violation.

Transferwise are the client of other banks. There are plenty of banks still that don't want anything to do with crypto. Keeping relationships with them is vastly more important than the odd customer. If I remember rightly Transferwise's CEO said it was the future but it's not something they can get involved in because of that.

Not sure why OP was using it. These days there are very good banking options with many exchanges. Maybe they have an obscure native currency.

Are you talking about Transferwise or another platform?
As far as I can remember their TOS stated that their services do not support crypto transactions, so of course it is possible that they'll lock your account when this happens. You should not use them for crypto.

I've been using Transferwise for a year now, can't say anything about their refund or support quality since my transaction never got a problem (and I never touch crypto with them). You might want to check out List of banks working welll with exchanges to make withdrawal.
