It is safe, but I wouldn't recommend it. Their wallet is way more newbie-friendly than it should, so you don't even have basic features like customizing the transaction fees when sending Bitcoin. This means that you may be be stuck with having to pay $5 or $10 in fees when the Bitcoin network is congested. If you want to use it to hold altcoins, then it's fine. But for Bitcoin, there are a ton of better wallets. Take a look at Electrum[1] (and make sure you are on the right website). Also, since you are a newbie, just a couple of warnings: 1. Don't believe "send BTC and receive doubled" scams. 2. Triple check the URL of the websites you are on. There are a LOT of scams everywhere in crypto. 3. If in doubt, feel free to create another topic to ask questions. Don't be greedy or you will lose money. [1] https://electrum.org

The best crypto wallet I can recommend a newbie is trust wallet and coinomi wallet, very friendly interface, easy to understand and operate, transaction fees are easily adjusted, make sure you copied your recovery seed to safe location, somewhere private that only you have access to.

Yes they are friendly for beginners but they are also closed source [read https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5244810.0] transaction fees are easily adjusted, As most wallets do. What's good about coinomi and trust wallet is they allow users to customize so they won't have to pay excessive fees as mentioned by TryNinja. nat369, most wallets usually recommends higher fees for faster confirmations but you should always have the option to lower it if you're not in a hurry. You can check sites like https://mempool.space/ before sending.

Hello, I am a real noobie, is the Exodus wallet for bitcoin safe and ok to use, thanks.
Try to download many wallets and read more about them before downloading, and then you can compare for yourself among the best wallets, as everyone has a "Best" word definition. For example, by the "Best" you mean: - Beautiful GUI.
- Ease of dealing with beginners.
- It contains a lot of transactions.
They are good, but not the best in terms of security, transaction fees, number of supported coins, etc. You can download the wallets listed here ----> https://bitcoin.org/en/choose-your-wallet as they are considered safer.

I've not used exodus wallet before but I've heard good things about the wallet, my advice is to do your own research, you can search google for app reviews and hear different comments from users, the most popular crypto wallet today are trust wallet, atomic wallet and coinomi wallet, there are still many others just do some research

Small correction. They added manual fee option for some time, and it is easy to enable it in Advanced options. You can enable Custom Fees and Multiple Addresses (good for privacy). However, Exodus is still closed source, code can't be verified and I never recommend wallets like that.

No. Exodus definitely is not a good wallet to begin with. If you decided to use a software wallet, do not use any closed source ones. You'd be better off using electrum, which is a reputable and properly working open source wallet with tons of functionality. Also, don't listen to people like: The best crypto wallet I can recommend a newbie is trust wallet and coinomi wallet
Coinomi, too, is a closed source wallet with incompetent developer who downplay severe vulnerabilities.

Hello, I am a real noobie, is the Exodus wallet for bitcoin safe and ok to use, thanks.
Seriously that's my favorite wallet becasue it is user friendly. Since this wallet has been in use nothing fishing has not be recorded. Though many have their opinion on them becasue of other settings needed in noncustodial wallets which are not found with Exodus wallet. I think there are good wallets aside this Exodus, try Blue Wallet and Samourai Wallet.

Yes - Exodus is a great wallet for new people. Easy to use, beautiful wallet with staking available and customer support 24/7 every day. And when you're ready to take your security to the next level, it links up seamlessly with the Trezor hardware wallet. Correction: Yes - Exodus does have customizable BTC fees. So you can take that objection off the table. Electrum is a fine wallet - but too confusing for brand new folks. And speaking of security... Here's a great guide from the Exodus team of things you should do to keep your assets safe - no matter which wallet you use. https://support.exodus.io/article/767-how-do-i-keep-my-money-safe#

The only advantage that I see the above wallets have over Electrum is that they are multicurrency wallets. Electrum only supports Bitcoin. But whatever the mentioned wallets can do, Electrum does better. Electrum also tries to emphasize that one first has to back up their wallet before fully creating and using it, something that the likes of trust wallets don't do and such wallets put newbies at a risk of losing the crypto assets

Still Electrum is a better wallet I feel this from the start and there are never any obstacles at all and most importantly it is environmentally friendly compared to other wallets. This has become a lot of suggestions, I hope the OP takes wisely in this discussion which wallet to use for newbies, therefore from many suggestions, your Electrum will be easier to multi-functional you do with what features are available there.

Im using the exodus wallet to just to use different coins too like the ripple and more but if we are talking about the bitcoin wallet for me and for sure most of the user right here will recommend the use of the electrum which is you can find it here https://electrum.org/#download always check the signature to make it secure you are safe and also one of the best in electrum is there is no minimum amount for activating your account also you can adjust the transaction fee whenever you want. One thing they become convenient is because of the android base they have, take care because there are a lot of fake electrum app spreading.

Hello, I am a real noobie, is the Exodus wallet for bitcoin safe and ok to use, thanks.
I'm using exodus.io wallet to hold and spend small funds for years now, and they have improved a lot over the years. For example: it's now possible to adjust bitcoin fee manually, and they also have a mobile app which you can sync with your desktop wallet. Anyway, if you're holding BTC only, I'd also recommend electrum over exodus.io, but if you're holding multiple assets, exodus.io might be a good choice for a beginner. And for the safe part: that's mostly up to the user to keep seeds/keys safe and to keep their device free from malware and shit.

Exodus not only keeps btc but altcoins as well as they support it I think there are a lot of wallets like this but how to choose the right and convenient OP for it, but in the words of the OP above the wallet for BTC means that highly recommended is Electrum specifically for bitcoin and does not support other coins. I am sure now the OP can understand it and how to take this much advice and know that people are telling you only for the security they experience with the wallet.

I would say it's safe to use but only based on my personal experience.
I'm just also new to this coins, my wallet is less than 6 months old, had some transactions using the wallet and I'm impressed with it since it's easy to use it and you can also trade your bitcoins to altcoins, or altcoins to altcoins. just DYOR because everything has a risk.

For bitcoin I use electrum.org wallet. it supports lightning node which after you figure this shit out is kind of cool.
For longterm ETH holding I use myetherwallet.
For Nimiq I use the official web-based wallet.nimiq.com
For all my other shitcoins I use exodus.io wallet. I like it because its way better than jaxx, but yes, not being able to set a lower fee is frustrating. I like exodus because it works on all the desktops and mobile platforms. and is a lightweight wallet so you don't need to download the entire chain. I wouldn't keep $100k in it, but for small amounts its easy and simple to use.

Yes, but first of all, people choose not safety, but convenience. When people lose their bitcoins, it is only then that they start to think about security.
If you need security, then I advise you to use cold wallets!

I would agree, but 1) its complicated and 2) ledger keeps getting hacked. the keys are safe, but your personal data is all over the web (twice now in as many months).

I would agree, but 1) its complicated [...]
There are several types of cold storage methods. Some of them are more and some are less complicated. A hardware wallet for example is pretty straight forward and not complicated to use at all. [...] and 2) ledger keeps getting hacked. the keys are safe, but your personal data is all over the web (twice now in as many months).
Ledger is not the only hardware wallet available. There are other vendors to choose from. Each hardware wallet has its pros and cons.
