I recently received an email from Ripple team that the scheduled release of 5 Billion XRP has been initiated.

This new unlocked will be distribute to all ripple holders to help market to recover. Ripple has huge total supply and adding more tokens will destroy its price.

Is it good or bad? What's thought about this?

Do you verify if the email comes from Ripple official email? I don't see any news about this in there official website and on big crypto news website. If this is true, The value of ripple will surely drop down but on the positive side, more holdings of token for all ripple holder so it might be a good news if the price won't drop that much.

Can you share the actual email or any website attach on it?  Is ripple send newsletter via email?

This is definitely bad news for investors. When the holders receive a reward, they must sell the bonus XRP to cash out. The total value of XRP 5 billion right now is close to $ 3 billion and it will certainly have a lot of price impact in the near future.
I just hope that the majority will still hold onto the distributed XRP numbers over the coming days so that the price of XRP does not dump too much. Or this will be an opportunity for us to execute Big Short one day before Ripple distributes XRP to all holders.

Additional supply for holders, of course, is not good. Most of them will selling it instead save what they get. Let say, from all of holder get the XRP, and 30% of the total holders make a sale, this will have an impact on the price. Then, this will be the FUD which in effect for XRP price. And will make the trend to bullish that is starting this month failed.

Despite this post you made, I didn't find anything about the addition of the 5 billion XRP. What I'm worried about the email you receive is a phishing email. I recommend you send a screenshot of the sender and the contents of the email you receive herem so everything becomes clear.

Good for short term, bad for long term for me.
This is one the reasons why I hate Ripple, centralised cryptocurrency. For sure a lot of people will start to hate Ripple because of this kinds of activities by Ripple.

That sounds really strange and I doubt if that was coming from the ripple foundation.
The release of 5 billion coins will be dumping the market again and I remember ripple even needs 27 months to dump 5 billion ripple coin to the market.

I'm thinking if that could be a fake email. I think that it must be checked again to make sure whether that was coming from the legit project or not.

This is not good for the market, XRP has a huge supply so unlocking and selling a large amount as you mentioned is indeed very absurd and i believe it will get a response from the community very intense. But i think this is about the authenticity of this newsletter, i think it might just be a phishing email sent to you, since i haven't seen any news on this yet.

Well if this is only for Holding purposes then better Put in a froze wallet  so the Said holders won't just dump the coins and affect the whole XRP market.

If it's distributed to all XRP holders I think this gonna dump the price a little bit but the XRP holders shouldn't worry because it also means they got reimbursed with the free token. However I don't know the motive behind this 5 Billion XRP release though. Does ripple think it's bad for XRP to have quite high price because it doesn't look affordable or what?
There must be good reasoning behind. But, there's no news regarding this though in any of crypto news site so this might be just a spam email that you receive.

Just recently confirm that there's something wrong on the email. Once I click on the whitelist button, It goes to www.ripple.com.so which is a copy website of the ripple. I almost sign up there since I'm holding XRP right now. I will lock now this thread since it's fake news.

I hope that no one here will fall victim on phishing email of ripple.
