Will the rise of altcoins eventually lead to the demise of Bitcoin? Ultimately Bitcoin has been tested and it has a place in the crypto world. Join our  discord https://discord.gg/pp7Jwsp9 for further discussions about this topic. Tell me what you think?

Altcoin rise because Bitcoin risen, Still the price of bitcoin dictates the general market price so if there is a coin that can take over Bitcoin, Probably it should be a stablecoin with a huge marketcap because there's still no coin that is not correlated to Bitcoin and I don't know if a coin will exist to overcome it.

Stop promoting your discord channel for the follow up discussion you created in the forum.

So he's just promoting his discord channel here.  Tongue Because we can have good discussion here also.

And replacing bitcoin? Many have tried, attempted to replace bitcoin. How many projects have you encountered stating that they are faster than bitcoin, cheaper than bitcoin, more cutting-edge than bitcoin, and yet, where are they now? And here is bitcoin, still standing strong among them. Bitcoin has flaws, let's admit it, but would be hard to replace and surpass its popularity among crypto users. Even noncrypto users, the first thing that come up to their minds is bitcoin, when you mention crypto. How can you beat that?

Yeah yfi already replace bitcoin. But it will not last long. Bitcoin is the mother of cryptocurrency, so its not possible to overtake btc. It can be possible for a moment but not forever.

No, it simply won't replace bitcoin, actually I doubt that any altcoin can take it because bitcoin is the price mover of crypto currency. And that is why the rest is called 'alternative coin'. During 2017, there was a thing called The Flippening, so called that ETH will replacement BTC but it didn't happened. And so is The Rippening, this time, XRP is touted to top BTC, but again, it never gets closed. To be fair with XRP it become #2 that time but ETH quickly regain the position.

I do not agree with this idea. Altcoins that can exist and develop are all dependent on Bitcoin. therefore, the price increases and falls from Bitcoin affects all Altcoins.

Altcoins are not possible to replace Bitcoin, because there have been many altcoins that were created to replace Bitcoin but ended up failing.
Bitcoin dominance is also very high in the market, so it is difficult for altcoins to replace Bitcoin. Even now the popularity of Bitcoin is still the
highest compared to other cryptocurrencies. So I don't see any possibility for altcoins to replace Bitcoin.

Any idea which altcoin has such high potential to replace Bitcoin? My opinion is simple: Unless the government-backed up cryptocurrency gets released by trustable sources, the BTC replacement will never happen for ages. The digital gold will keep its position for a long time and the situation will not go in favor of currently well-known altcoins. The lower marketcap altcoins still have a higher chance of hitting ATH in case of BTC price calms down but there are other possible market situations. If the market goes bullish for a few months, the chances of coming back will be bigger. What goes up must come down.

No altcoins will replace bitcoin because they are not meant to be like that, they are supposed to support bitcoin and fill the blanks for bitcoin. We don’t have to further discuss this one because the market depends on Bitcoin and if there’s a great news with Bitcoin, expect the uptrend to come.

No and I'm telling it after watching the market for the last few years.
Here's some points for you to consider:

The price of Bitcoin did not fall when altcoins begun to appear. It went up.
The price did not fall when ICOs boomed and it did not fall when bitcoin itself split into BCH. We reached ATH a few months later.
There are no altcoins that ever came close to the market cap of bitcoin and it doesn't look like any of them is threatening.

Bitcoin will never be replaced by Altcoin, because Bitcoin is the king of cryptocurrency and the dominance of Bitcoin in the cryptocurrency market is 60%+, so this proves that more investors are interested to investing in Bitcoin and of course it will be difficult for Altcoin to replace Bitcoin.

What I think when reading this topic is ignorance because you still need a lot of learning about this, did you not see when Bitcoin started to go up in price, some of the top Altcoins are also following the bullish trend of Bitcoin and Altcoins that are not able to follow it will sink by itself because no one is interested anymore, and you can also see that some Altcoin developers have also adopted blockchain to build Altcoins, meaning they see examples of Bitcoin which has long been king in crypto so that it can build alternative tokens to compete in the crypto market, so how is that possible Bitcoin can die with the rise of Altcoin, "I hope you are still healthy". The rise of altcoin will not demise of bitcoin because bitcoin is the leader in the crypto world. I don't think that the altcoin can replace bitcoin or beat bitcoin because altcoin will fall behind of bitcoin movements, and will follow where bitcoin go. But the rise of altcoin will help people to earn more bitcoin, so when bitcoin price increase higher, people can sell their bitcoin at a high price. In that time, people will make a big profit from bitcoin, but they also have another option just to hold their bitcoin for the long term. The discussion will become a debate which does not end because every people will have their opinions related to that. It is better we conclude it for ourselves, and if we want to share our opinion, we should accept other people opinions too.

Why no altcoins can never replace bitcoin

1. Bitcoin is the most recognize and most popular digital currency
2. There is no other digital asset that's close to gold as bitcoin, crypto is more popular today because of bitcoin
3. Bitcoin have the most liquidity and volume that's why bitcoin drives the whole crypto market
4. Bitcoin fought the major wars (Multiple bans in different countries) in the past and won
5. Bitcoin is true decentralization

FYI if you are wanna spending a few minutes to search the simillar topic with this one and there were bunch of similar thread already created.
Bitcoin is bitcoin and it will never be replaced by altcoin. It will never happen. The original coin that brings the new system called blockchain.
Altcoin was getting forked from the bitcoin too.

I have not thought that altcoin will replace bitcoin, in this market bitcoin is king. So there is no reason to make altcoins replace bitcoin, what has happened in the past time that you see is the market correction process. Peoples very confident in the market will increase strongly in the near future.

But so far no altcoin has caused bitcoin’s demise death. Nowadays the world’s businesses accept bitcoin so that the value of demand for bitcoin is increasing.
The most superior cryptocurrency to date is still on bitcoin. If there is indeed going to be an altcoin that replaces bitcoin, it will depend on the extent to which the world community receives this cyrptocurrency widely. Bitcoin is currently superior, but may other more powerful crypto currencies may replace one day.
The law of innovation plays a role in replacing something left behind.

Yes, and this has been very clearly seen from year to year, but on this occasion, maybe the OP who is still a newbie is trying to make a discussion about this through the questions he poses in this forum.

I'm quite curious, what will people do when there is an altcoin to replace bitcoin. currently, there is still not a single altcoin that can match bitcoin, even when it has more functions than bitcoin. well, nowadays bitcoin controls the altcoin price because when the altcoin price goes down it will most likely affect the whole altcoin price. Well, we don't know in the future, whether such altcoins exist or not. however, in terms of functionality, ethereum is much more useful than bitcoin, whereas, in terms of price, FYI is much more expensive than bitcoin. however, the two coins have not been able to replace bitcoin.

Seeing the dominance of Bitcoin over altcoins in the cryptocurrency market, I doubt there is an altcoin that can compete with or even replace Bitcoin. Bitcoin's dominance of more than 60% illustrates how investors trust Bitcoin more than altcoins. The dominance of altcoins which is only in the 38% range is still shared by thousands of altcoins, and this illustrates how many altcoins are trying to survive in the cryptocurrency market.
