These people who keep talking about negative things about Bitcoin are most of the people who really don't know what Bitcoin is. Some may not appreciate what Bitcoin can do.
Or maybe they are just talking such things to spread some FUD and price may dump, so they can buy more cheaper Bitcoin. But as time goes by, people become immune to these, they just ignore it, they already know it.

This is a particular case involving Coinbase and not Bitcoin.

Nathaniel Popper is making himself a complete pooper by inserting such an irrelevant paragraph in his long article. Well, you may consider Bitcoin libertarian. And, yes, Bitcoin may have snubbed "its nose at the pieties of mainstream institutions." After all, Bitcoin was, in a way, created as an apt response to the failures and abuses of mainstream institutions.

But it can never be called racist or sexist. There is nothing in Bitcoin's design which favors a man over a woman. There is nothing in its features which puts a white man at an advantageous position and a black woman at the opposite.

Nathaniel Pooper effectively made himself ridiculously silly and illogical by taking an unnecessary swipe at Bitcoin for what looks to be Coinbase's problem. For sure, I cannot condemn the entire media industry because The New York Times hired a pooper like Nathaniel.

Well that was misleading, Was about to talk trash about how these peoples minds are full of air if they ever did start talking about Bitcoin as racist and discriminatory. This is an issue about Coinbase and their management itself, not Bitcoin.

The closest I could find in the article that has any connection with Crypto, other than Coinbase being an exchange was the line made by Mr. Armstrong, about leaving the issues of company management and instead focus on the goal of Coinbase, profit, and advancement of cryptocurrencies. Heck, this shouldn't even be on the crypto news since the article itself started with racism and discrimination being active on the technology world, now I don't really know if it's true or not but that should really be the focus and coinbase.

By far, that is the biggest mantra for many bitcoin hodlers and individuals involved, word goes to the right ear then it comes out of the left. The FUD is just there to scare people away from investing into something new, we can't blame some FUD spreaders as some of them do not have ill intent in mind. In my opinion, this negativity is a good boost for bitcoin to elevate its image and so I am thankful that they are there.

New York Times is a liberal propaganda machine devoted to the liberal agenda.
Everything different than the liberal agenda is labeled "racist and sexist" by this propaganda machine.
I've never heard the term "crypto bros" and I believe that 99% of all cryptocurrency supporters around the world are NOT racists and sexists.
I'm not advocating on Coinbase, since I'm not a fan of this company.Their corporate culture has almost nothing to do with the values of Bitcoin. They just want to make money out of Bitcoin/altcoins.

Oh wow. The USA brings racism to things that never contained racism, to begin with, how very unusual of them. They the racist ones. Bringing the filthy racist ideas to bitcoin. Gee they never stop do they. Every excuse in the book I wonder what's next. Bitcoin gives you aids? NYT is a piece of crap anyway.

It is normal but not helpful for crypto community. They are being a restriction in reaching bitcoin to masses. In face, media in our country also has portrayed a image. That's not just it. Highly popular motivational speakers also post video covering bitcoin negativity, they clearly don't know the tech. But sooner or later, public will understand the value.

The question is when?

Well, Bitcoin will start introducing itself among newbies when the pricing will reach a way beyond their capacity of owning one. That's for sure!

The title is pretty overstated as the news emphasis the inappropriate system of Coinbase. It is clearly unassociated with cryptocurrency, particularly with bitcoin. Nonetheless, it is an issue a month ago, which Coinbase has foreseen. They informed their employees of the upcoming news linked to their company, which was published the day after. It implies that those words can’t be attached to a cryptocurrency. Besides being a digital currency, it does not oppose itself from any racial groups.

nowadays mainstream medias are biased. It's probably because of the huge competition, they have to choose one side from where the most of their funding comes. But this news is a different one. It just talks about a company which is related to cyrptocurrency. The news doesn't have any relationship with cryptocurrency and it doesn't talk about cryptocurrency as such. It just talks about bad management practices of a company who are probably led by a racist manager! That can happen in any other company as racism is a real threat in US. But connecting it with cryptocurrency in such a bad manner, is really hilarious!

But why is the article about black employees racially discriminated on coinbase?

Mainstream media wil always find a way to make BTC look bad no matter how much things had changed. While majority knew racism is already frowned upon, they can particularly magnify their lenses to focus on coinbase  flaws.

^ Definitely right.
I don’t think bitcoin can be related to sexism and racism. Like seriously?
Bitcoin is a store of value and medium of exchange. It will never be related to sexism and racism and it is probably the users but not the bitcoin itself. The bubble is accepted and considered as criticism, it can be related and also that bitcoin is only for criminals, which would be considered before. But sexism will never be. If people have problems with racism, put the blame on the organization, not on the bitcoin. Just leave Bitcoin alone.

Bitcoin itself is by no means racist or sexist, and it's important to note who are "they" in this context and what exactly are they saying. Bitcoin is neutral to everything, but people who use it and those who employ others into crypto companies are of course not without prejudices, so it can reflect the general state of society. In this particular case we're talking about a specific company (and probably specific people in charge of some things in this company) that were biased, but any area has such people and biases. And Coinbase is not something that shares values of Bitcoin anyway.
