If you don't know how VPN works then don't bother to use it when logging in to an exchange. Fortunately, the government in my country is not that strict on using about crypto currency so that's why I can easily access the exchange without using a VPN.
Personally, I don't trust VPN when logging in to an exchange since you never know who's behind on that VPN that you are using, plus, the delay and you are basically running to a multiple network while logging in. Although, I don't know if they could really store your logs or not but I found it so risky.

Actually, it is about is safe to use VPN? I read about the risks of using VPN (moreover if it is free VPN)
https://www.addictivetips.com/vpn/dangers/
And probably there are still several other dangers of using VPNs. But in fact, actually, VPN has helped us much. I also don't thnk that it will give guaranteed securty and also store ideas to our fuly data backed. So, whta to do for best?

dVPN is free of that. The privacy is the core of it's  principles. Being permissionless and fully decentralized it is  never collecting  personal  data. I take the liberty to quote from their manifesto

The harsh reality is that everything that is completely decentralized can be taken over by somebody with enough funds to do, decentralized, and especially pay as you go options like mysterium are easy targets. Besides, again you're fooling yourself by thinking that if you avoid censorship you can do this no matter what the authorities plan.

Quote
Could an internet service provider throttle internet speed of someone using Mysterium VPN?
Short answer, yes.
Will I be able to bypass China’s great firewall or similar with Mysterium Network?
At the moment, we are not providing this service.

As I was saying, you're simply using a solution limited to what the authorities want, if they want to shut it down they can, you're playing the cat and mouse game but with the wrong character.

I have never even heard of any of those VPNs. I use CyberGhost and I actually don't care if my info is saved on the VPN. I realise they shouldn't be and I agree it's not good if they do but personally I am not worried.
I use a VPN to gain access to geo protected content or if I want to visit a website I am unsure of. Also for peer2peer file sharing.

I don't know why any VPN would keep your info. It is so much easier to just not keep it. It's just extra work. If the law ever wants info you just shrug your shoulders. I would only ever work with the law to help catch a serious criminal like someone dangerous.

I'm not sure what you guys are doing online that you feel the need to be so worried about this?

Let's discuss.......
Using a VPN or not I think it depends entirely on the country in which you are living and the consequences for the behaviour you are incurring while using a VPN, most people that I know use a VPN because they want to avoid geographical restrictions that you get in many websites and in that case a VPN is perfect for that, and many people are not going to care about that information being exposed, but for someone that is trying to hide the fact that he is using bitcoin in a country in which this is illegal this could be a tragedy and he can only hope that his real identity was not linked with his use of bitcoin.

The worst part of VPN is that your VPN provider will be able to track your activity. So using VPN can be dangerous if the provider is not trusted. In all these cases I think it is better to use
TOR browser without using VPN, It is my personal perspective.

We shouldn't use VPN while accessing out wallet or any other important data like private keys, pasword and all because there is no guarantee that they would not store your data since all your data wand inputs will be passed through VPN instead of service provider directly. Unfortunately, people from some country has to use VPN due to restrictions on crypto by the relevant authorities as user are scared they will be tracked if they don't use VPN but VPN poses a greater threat to your data which which you access through VPN.

We have a decentralised VPN project named JACS which would possibly be better and relatively safer compared to other VPNs

Has this data been dumped? If so I would really like to see the 'activity logs'. Then we can finally know what kind of data "no log" VPN providers are logging.

I really don't recommend crypto users use VPN, because it is very risky for the data and crypto transactions that we do.
I myself have never used a VPN to make crypto transactions, but if you are in a country that prohibits cryptocurrency.
Indeed, one way to be able to make crypto transactions is to use a VPN, if you forced to use a VPN, you can use a paid
premium VPN, more secure than using a free VPN.

VPN is truly a means of business. In each and every business leads are much important. For this reason more backtracking takes place through these VPN services. Importantly VPN were used by people who are from countries that are against the usage of cryptocurrencies. People should have the awareness about VPN. I state gamblers using VPN services are making thyself into the scams.

The use of VPN's is basically snake oil and does nothing anonymous-wise. It is only used to hide your IP from potential "hackers" and does not provide anonymity for any, lets call it "intricate", events. Surprisingly there is no way to stay 100% anonymous on the internet. However, a good option compared to using a VPN is Tor or hosting your own offshore servers as your own VPN.

Some time ago some of my friends had difficulty logging into one of the crypto exchanges (Binance) and couldn't even enter. If he tries to access it, it will redirect to a positive government website address. Some alternative suggestions for logging in are to use a VPN app or set up DNS.
Many VPNs are free but I don't recommend them because they are dangerous unless they are paid (but this is not guaranteed). My second alternative would suggest set up DNS 1.1.1.1  from Cloudflare. Some articles write that this is a DNS service that does not log IPs, does not keep any activity logs and will delete browsing history automatically. Do you think this is safe or do you have any other suggestions?

The safest thing to do is to buy your own dedicated server under a VPN. But it will cost you a decent amount of money. Using free services is the same as simply giving your data to fraudsters directly into their hands - never do this. As an alternative, paid dedicated servers, but this is also not a panacea. At the request of the government, they give out the addresses from which the VPN session took place.

I rented a VPS from DigitalOcean to use as my family's private VPN server, is this what you mean by renting a private server?
By doing this, the provider still can't collect our data?

Since the beginning, I didn't believe in the existence of VPN services, whether it's free or paid, they (third parties) still have the possibility to collect our data on the internet.
If this is the right and safer choice, then $ 5 per month should be enough for my family to rent a little private server specifically used for accessing sensitive data on cryptocurrencies, especially wallets with balances.

Bypassing geo protected websites is one of the things I can assure in using VPN. I don't fully trust some providers as they only offer cheaper anonymity. Looking forward to some of your suggestions, as TOR seems a good alternative way.

In my opinion VPN should be used in conjunction with DNS servers.  This will provide you with additional anonymity and privacy.

The question also arises - does the VPN provider keep logs?  The ISP may claim that it does not store any logs, but we cannot verify this.  How secure is VPN?  Can hackers hack it?  Periodic independent VPN security audits are required.

All these points need to be checked.

However, no verification will give 100 percent guarantees.

Users can get caught using VPNs with exchanges and stuff. Coinbase seem very sensitive to region changes. If you forget to log in or out when hitting places like that they may freak out.

I find it slightly ironic that people fret about privacy then choose the crappiest free VPN to address it. You're placing a big chunk of trust in these places. Doing your homework is important.

We can't really tell if these VPNs are safe to use or not, but I don't see any reason to use these VPN's while making any transaction or while doing anything in the crypto sphere, except crypto is prohibited in your country, and if that's the case  I still don't think VPN are safe to use, because while they claim not to keep any logs they might be lying and it will be easy for the VPN provider to backtrack all your movements on the web, since they are probably keeping logs on web activities, for me the only VPN that can assure you true anonmity would be TOR, from what I read somewhere it is the best VPN service to use if you want to remain anonymous on the web.

if I think you should avoid VPNs because very dangerous. I have often hear someone wear VPN and then their assets just disappear, I until now still feel free and fear of use VPN, though not a lot of casualties but should be avoided before we own the victims. find a safe only, if such as there is a state of the force you wear VPN should avoid only.

There are many betting locales which are restricted in my nation and our government imagines that it's terrible for our general public. I just use a VPN to get to these sites so I can wager my cash there. I believe that some VPNs store the information, and have full access to our devices. I never use a VPN to get to my wallets since I utilize the equipment wallets and store my triumphant wager there.

You are Gambling using VPN ?Please be advised that There are gambling sites that Prohibit their Players in Using VPN so please be aware because if you won Big time then that would be the issue they will throw to you.
