Private keys and recovery seed are supposed to be private but if you come across any online or you are a newbie that thinks that recovery seed can be find online well this is for you, it's true that recovery seed and private keys can be find online but why? Aren't this supposed to be hidden? Well some scammers are intentionally revealing their private keys and recovery seed for people like you, still curious what their aim might be?

they intentionally expose their wallet keys and once you see them you would want to track the coins that are inside, I'm sure you will see some valuable tokens, they leave the tokens to tempt you, the next thing any newbie would do is try to deposit on the wallet to move the tokens? And boom, the eth you sent isn't coming back, the instant it get deposited in the wallet address it automatically send out to another address lol 😆😆😆😆😆

Most of the victims of this fraud are just greedy people.
This is just an old type of scam. It works the same as a centralized exchange wallet where it is triggered by a smartcontract code that is ready to drain any existing balance in the wallet as soon as it is landed. The balance will be transferred automatically without waiting for the operator to be online.

I think they want to trap people who found wallet keys to access the wallet, but I think the scammers already add something to their wallet, which we don't know.
It is hard to explain or know what they can do because most people don't know about the programming language, making people do not know if something can contain a virus, malware, or other things.
There are so many ways that scammers can do to get our money. Even with the easy and simple trick, we can get them the ways to penetrate and steal our money without knowing.

I'm guessing, 🤔 why would anyone even try to look for others private keys or Mnemonic seed using search engines in the first place? People who engaged in such act are scammers themselves because if the private keys belongs to innocent people they will move out the assets and sell for their own gains, this is stealing so no remorse for anyone that get caught in this trap

When greed overrun the human mind, in this regard the outcome is inevitable. Those victim of such shouldn't be blame becasue they're greedy towards withdrawing someone tokens in an attempt to scam wallet owner but ended up be scam by the scammer. Have once came across this tactics from scammers and was able to resist their temptation.

Right on!

Therefore, this advice should not be given as a sort of a warning to innocent newbies. Instead, this goes out to all the newbie scammers out there.

There are indeed "scammers at work" here but the purported victims here are also scammers in the making themselves. Scammers preying on newbie thieves! Serves these newbies right for planning to steal what is not theirs in the first place!

why would you need to deposit in the wallet in the first place if you have their wallet keys?
if their token is worth something you can send it already, at the same time if I were the one who gets the key ill just transfer enough amount for the transfer, maybe it's a new scam? I suggest just stay away from this scheme if there is any, no one will put their private keys online even scammers
that's the reckless thing a scammer will do, but thanks for the info keep safe from these schemes

Are you one of the victim on that wallet ?that wallet with balance is already seen many years back in 2017 .there are many tried to stole the balance in the wallet until they realize they have been fooled by the owners of that address. They are looking many people thinking they get a jackpot finding a  wallet with balance which will result of sending eth adn use  for transaction fee, but as you said it will automatically transfer to another wallet .

If you Google search for that address you will find many people has been victim of it and you will not send any amount on that address , which most people forget before transferring because of greed to get the balance out there.

I wonder, why you need to deposit any amount of money if you already get the private keys, well, in fact, you can withdraw it anytime especially if the amount of the money stored in that wallet is enough for withdrawal, you won't be scammed for that trick if you do not let yourself be scammed or is there something that I misunderstood about that trick?

I'm know thinking about what to do if I ever come across any others private key or recovery seed, will I import the keys to check out what the wallet holds in store?  Cheesy ? Damn, sometimes greedy is a bastard, I'm human being and I might just go ahead and do it but that is if I eventually came across any private keys, they shouldn't be laying around in the first place, this is a different case from those that are intentionally looking for people's Private keys, they deserved to be scam  Grin Cheesy Grin

If you go looking for the private keys or seed phrases of others to import (steal) their funds, and you then lose yours via that process, you really have no moral right to complain you were scammed, what if you were successful in stealing the funds, you would prolly have taught yourself smart; just learn to keep your private keys and seed phrase away from the public, but do not go looking for those of others, cause chances are low someone will expose theirs just like that, and as you can see, you could fall for scammers and it becomes counterproductive.

The moment you start having the devilish thought of looking for others private keys online you have become a scammer yourself so whatever happens in the process is your own fault, assuming you accomplished your mission successfully you would have put an innocent person in a very bad position without having any conscience, this makes you a scammer, I kinda like this scheme it's a perfect trap for greedy people

I am agreed with this point. Yes, people, who what to see other's private key they are probably finding a way about how to steal people money. (but not all the people, some want to be aware ownself)

Think about the ERC20 wallet, for example, Myetherwalllet, If you want to transfer any token then you need a gas fee in ETh. So you must have to deposit ETH for gas fees.

It is a tricky strategy which obviously establishes to attract attention, especially those avaricious people. Defrauders are not foolish to exposed a private key without the intend to swindle money. With advanced technology, defrauders will continue to develop and improve their schemes. The issue is, people believed and fall easily for such an obvious trap as they don’t visualize the specific motive for the revealed private key. Little did they know that as they deposit their funds, defrauders are rejoicing what they have obtained. Thus, be vigilant and be educated about such scam techniques.

I see there are a number of events that are being held to find private keys and seeds and in that there is a greater asset to the reward for the inventor, is this what it means to search right online? I think this is difficult to find because it is personal and until now I still haven't seen who is better in the search engine to find the recovery seed and isn't this just the same as a scamer?

This Is indeed another brilliant way to scam. The real fact is. It's faster to send eth out than to send token. So the scammer can easily take out the eth while the greedy victim is still adding contract address of the token he/she wanna send out.

During my first year of doing airdrops,I noticed a similar scam as this but I didn't fall for it because I immediately asked someone who help me verify.
The wallet address and private key of the wallet was exposed,
The kept a token worth while in the ethereum wallet but there was no eth to transfer it out so for you to take the token, you would have to send eth into the address to take it.
The owner of the wallet address has created an algorithm that allows any eth that enters the wallet address to be redirected to another eth address so that coin cannot be removed instead one would be scammed of their eth.

It's not about using the wallet, it's about greedy people importing the wallet recovery seed to take a look at what assets are inside the wallet maybe they can move them out to satisfy their own greed, this is a brilliant way of scamming greedy people and scammers too lol

And boom, the eth you sent isn't coming back, the instant it get deposited in the wallet address it automatically send out to another address lol 😆😆😆😆😆

yeah these baits have been around for a while now.
I've seen some wallets that had $5k worth of token in them, but no ETH, so naturally, as soon as you send 0.1 ETH it's gone, as you said, transfered to a different wallet.
TBH quite a clever scam
