Honestly, this is not the right time to buy, you might have to wait for couple of more weeks in order to see how the market fluctuates. This is a very crucial stage where an buying or selling is not recommended but if you ask someone who has already invested in Bitcoin then the value was under $10k or $15k and your someone who is in desperate need of money then it's advisable to sell off before he market turns bearish but buying bitcoin at this moment would prove fatal.

I come to you with a cunundrum today. One that's been weighing on me heavy for the past week.

Is it a good time to buy bitcoin, for a not too long term investment? And not just a couple of bucks but rather with a sum that would definitely sting (but not cripple) if the pendulum swings the wrong way.

I know your guess it as good as mine and the whole don't put in more than you are willing to lose and bitcoin is the least predictable investment venue...but perhaps you might know something I don't, especially consider how sharply it's been going up lately.
Some I realized don't like sharing what they know if they have juicy insight that they feel will change the course of things unfavorably for them if that knowledge was made public. If you are one of them, maybe you can PM me? 1 person won't make a difference.

So yeah, looking for expert, honest, advice.

Its always a good time to buy!  Do you think at some point bitcoin will be higher than its current price.  If your answer is yes, then start incrementally buying bitcoin daily, weekly, monthly or some interval.  This will help hedge your downward and upward risk.  Dont listed. To most "traders".  Trade safe and cost average in and out.  Nothing wrong with not hitting the complete highs and lows.

There would be always some hesitance when it comes to investing because we wont know if the price would crash down after we hit or do able to break the ATH
because it isnt always a guarantee that the price will shoot up or will continue when it breaks to the roof and we know that theres always a possibility yet

but if you dont mind much in shorter time frame then you can risk out and go for long term but dont expect that it would go on what you had anticipated because

It was a losing end for you if you buy today, better to wait when the market drops again. Try to think what will happens in the last Bullrun, the market dumps and that possible to happen again. We don't know if the price keep on increasing, will it continue after it reach the ATH? Will it stay there? Will it fall? When will it fall if it does? For the not too long-term investment, do you mean you will eventually sell right? Then it means, whatever the price, you can make an entry since the price is swinging, and with the exact execution of your strategy, you can take advantage of it and take profits.

But for long-term goals e.g for holding, it's a tough question that only you can answer. You need to decide for yourselves what to do. No advice from anyone can tell you the exact thing you need to do.

And why would you sell now when the price will 'most likely' go to $20k this month or next year. That's why someone is advising you to be at least invest today and look for the long haul, instead of selling every time it hit another higher high. Yeah, it's really hard to give financial advise here, but let's say most of the members here are trying to HODL as long as they can and probably will just liquidate when we are the top or close to getting a new all time high. Well, I don't see any reason why not to sell right now. If you buy bitcoin at a low price and you think the profit is enough or you hit your target price then why not sell. My only advice when selling your holdings especially in this bull run you don't sell all your holdings, just sell a fraction of it and set your new target price again. The thing here is we don't know exactly how the market will behave so you must take the opportunity as you can and don't be greedy as well waiting for it to grow even more. You should know your limits and that is a smart move for me at least.

At this stage of the game, I would advice you not to buy even if you say that it will only sting. Remember that it is still a sting, the best course of action is to wait when the dip starts because that will definitely happen, it will not sting because you know for yourself that it will dip and just buy more at lower prices, you will have more money in the long run.

We have to look at any situation now the market is not yet the time if you people don't panic then it is fine to buy now but I believe the bullrun will continue but FOMO is mostly due to influence in the current market situation.

now the market is a little down we will find out if this is going to bottom but for sure the decline will not be so fundamental we have to believe and be ready to buy at the right price.

You have been weighing that for week,If you have bought those time maybe Bitcoin is still at $16,000 level or if just this week then after the Spike to almost 20,000 Bitcoin had correction and fell again to $17,000

I guess now is a good time to invest in bitcoin because you can see bitcoin price has down again to the $18 level, so you can buy it now or wait for more.
There is no guarantee to see the price will go down for more.
Maybe if you can analyze the trend, the chart, and look at the order queue to find a good entry to place the order.
But if you think it is better to buy now than later because the price can bounce up after this, you can place your order buy at the market.
Before you place an order buy, you should realize the risk that will always be behind bitcoin, so you should accept it.

At this moment, not really. The market price is already high and the fact that there's no assurance whether the market price will continue increasing in the future, is enough for an investor to doubt doing so. There is practically more chance to earn profit if an investor would wait for the market price to first fall since its price is increasing at times, but what's questionable is its inconsistencies. There is no correct answer, the market have its own way to move. Although there is someone who believe 100% to his strategy that will get a profit but he just have 70% a chance to get it. I mean, in the trading or investing field there is no absolute strategy, there will be a time for the market give you a profit and give you a loss.

Seem like you just new to crypto currency, right? It would be better to learn first this field before you start. Don't just come when bitcoin and all crypto currency price in the bull run market. Depends on how long is "not too long term"? a month or two?
Bitcoin movement still going sideways at the moment, we will know what may happen if bitcoin success to break the resistance level at $19,9k but today it seems to decline which means retest the support level at $18,8k. Despite the price right now, buying bitcoin will be profitable within 1-2 months, it supposes to reach at least $22k in this month before a retracement by the end of the year or in early 2021.

How come people still think that they are still seeing some sort of bear run? I mean of course it is a great time to invest, we are not even at the top yet. How do I know this? Because I believe in bitcoin and I remember when it past the last ATH back in the day, it broke over it a lot.

So, I think we are not going to just go to 20k and crash this time around, that was settling a new ATH once upon a time, the reality is that we are going to go above 20k and reach to places like 40-50 thousand and then crash, but this crash will be huge and very high even compared to today's price. So do not be worried about buying today, buy right now and sell when it does x2 and you will be in huge profit. However do not forget to check out other coins as well, there could be some that can do even better than x2 as well.

As much as I like to give advice to the OP, my advice might not be the one that will happen in the future .
In the end OP it will depend on your target profit and plans.

You buying for short term, just do futures trading instead so that you can gain lot more profit than spot trading.
You buying for long term, just do dollar-cost averaging or lump sum buying. Either way, it will give you profits in long run.

If only somebody knows what can happen to Bitcoin in the future with 100% accuracy then that person/s might be rich by now .

I have always believed and reiterated that every time is a good time to invest, or sell. As traders or investors, we have different trade entries; and definitely will have different trade exits too. My point of taking profit does not necessary have to correlate with you. So i will implore that you do your own research; summarize the token market chart; and choose for yourself a time to get in the trade.

No this is not the right time to entertain with your savings in BTC because the price is already in its peak and buying now is not recommended, also I would request you to please go through the history of BTC and first see its high and low of the past one year. Wait for few more days and watch the fluctuations how it happens everyday, you will come across lot of news about BTC but that doesn't mean the price is go to moon. Don't jump over and buy wait until the market turns red.
