Hello my bitcoin brethren!

I come to you with a cunundrum today. One that's been weighing on me heavy for the past week.

Is it a good time to buy bitcoin, for a not too long term investment? And not just a couple of bucks but rather with a sum that would definitely sting (but not cripple) if the pendulum swings the wrong way.

I know your guess it as good as mine and the whole don't put in more than you are willing to lose and bitcoin is the least predictable investment venue...but perhaps you might know something I don't, especially consider how sharply it's been going up lately.
Some I realized don't like sharing what they know if they have juicy insight that they feel will change the course of things unfavorably for them if that knowledge was made public. If you are one of them, maybe you can PM me? 1 person won't make a difference.

So yeah, looking for expert, honest, advice.

This is what i do when planning to invest more ,Once that I have my funds available ,I am not taking time thinking and asking instead i will grab the opportunity instantly , and since i only Invest in the first to 10 coins ,i have no doubt in deciding which to choose.
and sometimes i just Make a Mini Mini Moo for what to buy ,But maybe with added luck ,because each time i add investment ,that coins either will Pump in the next months or in the year duration in which my holding time most of the time.

but remember, don't be greedy if you want to buy and take profits at today's prices.

This is not the right time to buy and sell ,because were nearing New Year and we knew something might happen because it's the record shows.

I just say one thing to start, if I only had how to buy Bitcoins right now I would not hesitate in the least, and not because I know that it will go up in price, so buy at almost $ 30k and go down to $ 5k would Hodl do until Bitcoin has at least $ 50k, no matter how long it takes, the same will happen ...

The bitcoin market is increasing rapidly, whereas the altcoins are continuously facing decline other than very few cryptocurrencies. Myself don't find it a good time to invest on bitcoin, because the present moment is for the people who can afford to invest in large scale. There are two investment options in the crypto world, Bitcoin and Altcoin, I will give a strong suggestion for all of us and a little explanation,

When bitcoin raise above $30k will altcoin allow to raise up too, almost few weeks ago bitcoin keep higher price and not give chance for altcoin raise too, how ever if bitcoin still on the top price we need longer time to see altcoin back to higher price, but when bitcoin down almost all altcoin allow for going down without have any permission. Just happening right now when bitcoin still potential back to higher price and not chance for altcoin.

So you are investing because you think you might miss out on making profit? Investing because of FOMO is bad. Like really really bad. You keep on thinking about the profits, not about the losses that you might incur. Look, if you are willing to invest for long term, then go ahead. Invest and forget about your coins for years. If you thinking about making short term investment and make quick profits, then I would say don't. We don't know how long this bullish market is going to stay for and what the real price is going to be after correction. But in the end, like you said, invest whatever you can afford to lose.

Well, against the majority of you guys' advice, I bit the bullet, went ahead and bought... a pretty penny's worth too. It was 19k'ish at the time...now it's 32k. And with that, I'm back at the same dilemma...should I sell?  I'm at %50 profit so far.

Only @Yamifoud, @plr and @davinchi advised that I should bu - pretty strongly too - and predicted this with surprising accuracy.

yes I agree with your opinion that this is just the beginning of the bullish season, therefore many say that this is the right time, we are still at the beginning of the bullish cycle, investing gradually because there may be a correction in March, be careful, If your investment has got a positive ROI, you should sell and buyback again at the bottom.

look at altcoins if you are afraid of high bitcoin prices, considering the altcoin season has not yet come to all of us there is still hope of repeating history in 2017-2018, and in my opinion this is a pre altcoin season, we have seen Ethereum hit the new ATH but we haven't see other coins like Tron, Stellar, and others have increased like Ethereum and Binance, buy coins that are still cheap, not expensive ones.

Challenging the 12hr average at the moment, it should pull back to the 2 day average at least on a fairly regular basis and you could time a buy at that point.  However I also have something of a daily trend ceiling just on these highs which might cap immediate gains, generally most think the price has no negatives apparent in its pricing on any view.
  So something like 50k could be the nearest downside target presuming we have some lag in momentum which would be normal.

Before you invest, you must first know about the risks of investing in cryptocurrency. If you want to keep it for a very long time, please buy it. If you are only investing for the short and medium-term, you should look for cheap altcoins and wait for the price increases in the market.

I buy bitcoin as future savings. I didn't sell it even though bitcoin went to the moon.

The market is soo volatile as of this moment and this is one of the recipe for those who do make out active trades compared into those who do just simply hold.Nothing
is assured when it comes to future talks and for op if he had able to make investment on the time he had made out  this post the he had definitely making out some
serious profits on this moment because bitcoins price did really able to increase its price.It all matters with someones risk management if he would proceed or would

But the price is picking up more than the downside. It possibly will shoot out high any time.

That $50k short correction is still big, I'll be thinking it drops to $40k if that will happen but it was still a healthy price. And I see this a buying point in preparation for another bullish run moving back to $50k, $60k. I just hope there is not FUDs and hacking sentiment will be heard as this is the most reason why people do the panic selling.
