Of course, ten years is enough to get to the top and be popular, but those years should not be wasted and should be spent fully learning bitcoin. It is not a good idea to waste years; you should always improve your skills and ideas about cryptocurrencies, and I believe now is the time to learn from the successes and failures of the bull run in 2021. There are plenty of ideas and knowledge you can learn here in bitcointalk forum, what more on the other sites in the internet world? You can learn on Youtube, Reddit and other platforms and I hope that we're all successful after 10 years.
The forum was founded in 2009 by Satoshi and Sirius. It replaced a SourceForge forum.

i am pretty sure those member who has  sold out their bitcoin 2017 now regreting as that time bitcoin price was almost 19000$ but now the price almost 60000$ usd .. even we are regret now to do not hold good amount btc as we had chance to buy at cheap price too much last year and end of last year .
I don't think so. Those selling in 2017 when the $ 19k bitcoin price was the right thing to do. Because after that the market experienced a dump and became a bearish season. However, the winner is when those who buy bitcoin at a time when the market becomes bearish. The bear market was the worst hit when March 2020. Someone who bought at that time and kept it up to now is a winner.

I felt the effects of not HODLing my coins back when I first started the forum last 2017. The signature campaign proceeds went to one of my failed investments; and others went to my personal purchases.

Last week, I saw my blockchain record and observe that the total amount of bitcoins I have received amounted to around $18,000~. If I did not spend them, I would have saved some money for further investments. That is why, if you really need to spend cash or if you are in a dire position, then that would ONLY be the time to convert your bitcoins to cash.

For me personally, I know a lot of involvement pertaining to Bitcoin would have happened and my take is to keep holding and investing more unless unforeseen contingencies occur for me to cash out some amount.

Unfortunately, in my case, I spent my btc for my personal expenses during this pandemic period. So a lot of my earnings didn't see the light of the 50k level of btc. Cheesy I am not complaining as it helped me during this crisis. I couldn't give a price tag when it did help me during those challenging times. So no regrets of spending those satoshis much earlier. And after so many years here, still the same. Trying to earn as much as I can. And holding it as much as possible.

Same situation where i do actively spend out my coins when im really in need and able to save up a little and even those savings been used for that sole reason which i dont really have any
regrets at all.Yes, you might have missed the bigger profits but to think that it is helping you to survive this challenging times then that what matter most and dont mind about
those missed opportunities since you can still deal with the market and still not late on making things to happen because we know on whats the potential of bitcoin or entirely this crypto
market when it comes to future. At least i am seeing myself that had some progress compared into those life situation before ive known crypto.

I participated in Bitcoin for a long time. Bitcoin changed a lot of my life. Bitcoin's golden age gave me a big profit. I have capital to do business and live very comfortably. In recent years, Bitcoin down severe slope made me lose some capital. But I'm still passionate and waiting for the opportunity to invest Bitcoin. I believe in 2021 will be the best year of Bitcoin. I started by participating in bonus campaigns. So what do you think?

I have many years behind me in the crypto world and I would say that in reality my life has not changed significantly. I hold a dozen types of coins in order to accumulate assets and profit when their value increases and when I sell them, but so far nothing has changed since I have not sold any of my coins. I just wait and hold.

Here's my story!

First heard about Bitcoin at a cyber-crime conference in Prague from a guy from the US. It was mid 2010. Bitcoin had basically no price. I didn't know that at the time, but around that period Lazslo bought his two pizzas for 10,000 btc on this forum. Did I buy back then? No Sad I had to understand first. I had no clue about mining, how bitcoins were created, how you could exchange them for fiat, inputs, outputs, cryptography... nothing. And so I went through the rabbit hole, which took months. Many months. In the meantime I started teaching about it. I was giving and still give classes on financial crimes all around the world, and I incorporated a module on Bitcoin & ML since early 2011. A few months ago I made a rough estimate: I have personally talked about Bitcoin for at least 2 hours to almost 3,000 people. I always wonder if any of those guys ever bought bitcoins, especially in the early days. Thanks to the courses I was conducting and the legitimate questions I was asked, I was forced to study-study-study. At the time I was literally reading each and every piece of news there was around, and every source available, including this forum. This forum was and is the best source of info. It was a wonderful place and all the devs were here and you could talk to them and ask questions. I didn't register immediately, as I was only a passive reader, absorbing all the knowledge available (I only did it in 2013). I still have some of the slides I used to teach during this period, and I see screenshots of the different exchanges. Price? from 2 to 15 USD. Aaaaaaarrrrgh! Time flies, the price goes up, I keep on teaching, and I finally buy my first satoshis.. probably at around 100 USD. I remember starting talking to friends about it, but none would follow my advice at the time (they did it much much later). I securely print some paper wallet from bit address.org (offline website on air gapped computer using a linux distro and a dumb printer) and i put my treasure there.
After a few months I have the worst idea ever! "I am so smart that I can easily day trade bitcoin and gain more and more"! I still have that MtGox account that I used to purchase my first coins. So yeah, let's go, let me send a quarter of my satoshis there! It was mid 2013. "what can go wrong? They are so reliable, they even send me a yubikey to secure my account! Wow, smart guys. And this Mark seems a great person!". I start smelling something was wrong. I made a tiny withdrawal, just to test, everything is fine... it seems. A few weeks later, when I try to withdraw everything, the collapse. Bye bye bitcoins!!! I am still waiting for the end of the bankruptcy (first) and liquidation (after) process to be over.
Now I am living my first big Bitcoin rally! Bitcoin reaches 1,100 USD before capitulating. I didn't know at the time, but I was seeing the first of the 4-year cycles. But what a great time! I fly to Amsterdam to join Bitcoin2014, a big gathering organised by the foundation (rip). Patrick Byrne from Overstock gives a keynote, I meet Gavin, I meet Roger, Eric, Tuur, the foundation's people, everyone is friendly and they all spend a few minutes talking to you. I keep holding and teaching while 2015 brings a new low at around 200, people are giving up, bitcoin is declared dead. But I HODL. But now I am holding with an hardware wallet.
Fast forward, another cycle... this time all the way up to 20,000. it's 2017.Everyone tells me to sell! Please sell! And I say "no way"! When the price crashes they are all ready to put that sarcastic smile on their faces, the "told you so" smile. And I give back the "he who laughs last, laughs loudest" smile. It's crypto-winter again... all the people that were begging to learn more about how to buy bitcoin at 15-20,000 have now disappeared. The price goes down all the way to 3,000 and I try to explain that this is the moment to stack sats, buy the deep! But no, it's a bubble, we told you so. That's what they said. And now we are back again in 2021 with another rally. 60k and counting. I keep on giving classes, now online due to covid, and keep on HODLING. That's my story! See you at the beginning of the next cycle in 2024!

I remember back 2017 when I bought my first bitcoin for $5,000 after I earned in a crypto project and then later sell it at a price of $13,000, and so yeah I made some profit there. Got involve in a lot of crypto projects, earned a lot, and I didn't invested again in bitcoin. I got afraid when bitcoin price starts crashing so I pulled out my investment and tried to invest on other things outside bitcoin and cryptos. And that was a big mistake on my part.

But now I already bought again some bitcoin and trying to hold till price reaches $100k. I don't know when will it happen or if it's gonna happen, all I know is that I learned from my mistake and that is not going to happened again. I can't say my life 10 years from now, I have no idea, but I know it's going to be amazing.

2017 was the year when I got my first BTC. But I purchased the coins in January, when the prices were quite low ($900 per coin). And back then I got BTC2.40 in my wallet after spending around $2300 (including markup in Localbitcoins). And at that point, the investment represented close to 10% of my net worth. A lot of people were angry at me, for investing so much money in a high-risk asset. But the same people now want me to give advice to them regarding cryptocurrency investment.

I don't participate in Bitcoin on the very first days. I Knew Bitcoin in 2017, now my life has changed a little, I know how to save my money to buy Bitcoin and I accept to lose if I buy a high price because I understand that Bitcoin will still reach a higher value. Bitcoin used to upset my life because of its fluctuations. I sold off all my crypto at the end of 2018 and thought I would never go back to a market like this. I have returned to the market after a few months because of its growth in 2019. Up to now, I have lost some money with Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies but I believe I will soon get my lost money back as I did. they ask a lot after each market crash.

Of course not everyone is as lucky as you, friend, especially by taking out everything you have is certainly something that is very risky, because we know crypto is very unstable. but the determination that you do of course with a solid calculation and full of conviction. so that what you do is confirmed because of that strong belief.

something worthwhile that you have done finally gives something very extraordinary because an increase of almost more than 10x the value you spend, of course things that will open the eyes of others that crypto can provide extraordinary benefits. congratulations once again and you are a very lucky person, hopefully at the end of this year you will also get the same thing in 2017.

10 years is really a long time, believe me not everyone who got bitcoin at a cheap rate back  then hodl thier bitcoin till date, most people must have sold at a high price thinking prices will dump, while some panic sellers who held might sell at lose when there's is a great crash in the market, so it's just about patience and time, I never bought and held bitcoin till this recent market pump, I sold bitcoin I had when bitcoin was still at $10k, I was even happy because I bought when price was still at $3k and I was happy selling at $10k because I already made much profit and I never invested back again and now prices is 6x the amount I sold.

You have to do more things in my opinion if your life hasn't change that much, the attitude will stay the same but you bave to have more experience in other things to change something in your life.

Bitcoin was invented by the mysterious Satoshi Nakamoto in 2008 and released as open-source software in early 2009. It was gradually recognized by many until it reached a peak of $19,783 per bitcoin in late-2017.

From the beginning of bitcoin history I know that many people become rich instantly when they hold their bitcoins and sold at the highest price last 2017.  After the price of bitcoin fluctuated and dropped where many investors got scared and started to panic to sell their bitcoin even if they went bankrupt. But we cannot hide that bitcoin has changed many lives.

On the other hand, after bitcoin dump many are still investing, especially as the price of bitcoin gradually rises again. And due to the continuous development of bitcoin it has become more and more popular and attractive to investors especially to the rich and big companies.

Now bitcoin is preparing to reach another ATH. Are you still there and holding your bitcoins? What happened to your life after 10 years in bitcoin? Is there any changes?

I just recently discover BTC and my investment is not that big so nothing really changes at all but the fact that my money is growing is really a good thing. For now,  I will still hold and hope that BTC will make a new of ATH though it's been already proven before. No one knows if it will bring me wealth from years of holding.

If this title had been opened ten years ago, I would have said a lot. But maybe in 2030 bitcoin will be a million dollars, who knows. Kirpto coins are spreading rapidly around the world. Bitcoin can be very valuable.

Are you still maintaining that 2.4BTC in your wallet now? or had sold the Bitcoin when the bullrun happens Later that 2017?
Because the price comes to almost 20,000$ in December meaning you have more than 40,000$ that day.
