Finally, the near 3-day delayed transaction got confirmed a few hours ago. Though I knew it would eventually scale through, what would've been the case were Bitcoin taking a down slope movement calls for great concern. I guess we have got to that point where a drastic measure should be taken to abate this type of scenario whenever there's a bull run for Bitcoin. Normally, it's around this bull run that we have it repeatedly. It's frustrating.

I'm not really sure if the transaction is stuck in the mempool it would be lost forever I don't hear any news or reports in regards with that, I'm sure it won't be lost if its stuck maybe it would just take too long before it would be confirmed.

The transaction be confirm when it weekend and thats if it still exist in the mempool.

If you did everything correctly, it is unlikely that your bitcoins can get stuck in mempool

Everything correctly? Even experienced crypto enthusiast make the same mistake when they are out of budget and want to send two transactions the same day which I believe was also the reason behind the OP stuck transaction cause it had an unconfirmed parent tx.

Don't worry there is nothing like that in bitcoin transaction where your transaction will be stuck in mempool and will be lost eventually if your transaction fee is very low. In your case, if you are worried by the delay of your transaction then you can try accelerating your transactions.

I recently got a delayed transaction because of the fee that was set to that transaction and I just use a free accelerator upon reaching 3 days of being stuck in mempool and I just got lucky that I have received the said transaction after using the free accelerator. There are also paid accelerator, just look for decent service with a reasonable price if you want to look for a paid accelerator but I suggest that you will try accelerating it via free and wait for 2 days and if it didn't help then proceed to paid service.

I used free accelerator many times, but no success, viaBTC is asking $5500 for paid acceleration, LOL.

Most of the free accelerators are just rebroadcasting your tx, they are not really accelerators.
The only ones that work are viabtc and antpool, but since your parent transaction is so low viabtc will not pick it up for free, and yeah, 5500$ is overkill, the parent transaction paid 9$ at 3 satoshi, they are asking for more than 2000sat/b.Anyhow, 140 inputs and 197 outputs? 

Probably the weekend will take care of it, if not from Saturday morning then Sunday, without a drop in blocks mined per day the mempool will be emptied in 48 hours.

I've just noticed something that causes this to be taken into account late:
tx 6d39ddf0ec4ce578bd70300c317865aa40d471e9feed3b794655f51ad5b33e9a has unconfirmed parent 794b3223490d46ad9f2e5ddb66e9964748c23241bac2d933dc2c78ee024b05fe with (low) 3.387 sat/vbyte fee


In theory we may have a CPFP but I don't know if child's tx fee is big enough for that.

I need to understand these part of write to up because is very interesting in case of transactions and all the rest, I thinks I really need better explanation for further purpose or reference, because I understand that we are all here to learn and also know what we don't really know.

The unconfirmed parent means that the transaction that's the source of your money is not confirmed.
The fact you pay more it doesn't change the fact it's still not unconfirmed parent, it just means your extra money may help "convince" the miners mine faster the source (parent) transaction (CPFP = child pays for parent).
But it depends... and you should not rely blindly on that.

I mean the troublesome parent transaction with low fee was, first of all, big. Else it may have been confirmed faster with your CPFP.
On the other hand, you were somewhat lucky, it was only one unconfirmed transaction yours was depending onto. It can happen that the unconfirmed parent also has unconfirmed parent, and its parent also, and so on. I've seen sets of 5+ such transactions in the past.

So imho the main ruls is to be careful about spending unconfirmed funds.

A proper wallet may tell you the funds you want to spend are unconfirmed.
Electrum has an option to allow you spend only confirmed funds (but I don't remember what's its default value).


PS, FYI: The transaction got confirmed about 7 hours ago.
